Seriously, dont bring your pets here. They dont properly care for pets and they dont have the ethical integrity to ensure your pet is well with a follow-up visit after theyve improperly treated your pet. To make matters worse, this place is outrageously overpriced, which wouldnt be a problem if they took good care of our pets. The problem is that they dont and they will nickel and dime you until you finally take your pet to see another vet. My cat had an ear infection so I called Mohawk Alley to see if I could bring him in for treatment. I asked what the cost would be and was told $52 plus meds. I asked whether I should clean his ears before bringing him in and the receptionist told me not to because the doctor might want to see what it is in his ears. To my surprise, they needed to clean his ears in order to treat him and the cost for that was $39. I just wanted my cat well ASAP and Id already made the effort to take off work and take him in there (plus I was already was on the hook for the $52 exam fee) so I paid the fee along with the rest of the fees totaling $180. They vet said to see how hes doing and call back if the drops didnt take care of the infection. About 4 days into the ear drop protocol, the ear drops were misplaced. I couldnt find them anywhere so I called Mohawk to see about getting another prescription. Ana took my call and said shed get back to me because they made a mixture three medications and put them together in a bottle. They do this, not only so they can charge much more than selling the three medications individually, but also so you are forced to buy the overpriced mixture only from them. So I waited for a call and never heard back which was very unprofessional and a red flag for the quality of service they offer. Fortunately I found the medication the next day in the back of a dark cabinet and was able to give my cat the full week of ear drops as prescribed and my cats ear seemed to be getting better...until two days after the medication was finished and his symptoms returned and had actually worsened. I called Mohawk again to see if I could bring him back in. They said sure! When I asked if there would be any cost for the follow up visit, I was told that it would be the same cost as the first visit. SAY WHAT!?!? Seriously, dont bring your pets here. It is outrageously expensive, and that would be fine, if they actually cared about the health of your pet and took care of them properly. When you have to go in numerous times for the same issue and they dont offer free follow-up care, its time to see a decent vet.

I had a wonderful experience at Echo Parks Mohawk Alley Animal Hospital. From the outside, you cannot tell but the facility seems to be state-of-the-art and is extremely clean and spacious. Located right next to the K9 Loft grooming services, parking is ample with metered/street. Dr. Susan Tang was wonderful to my 6-yr-old Yorkshire Terrier, who was suffering from flea allergy and hot spots. Not only was she quick to point out his problems, she was helpful in explaining the steps needed to move forward with the healing process. Very quick and to the point. She was thorough in examination and even found additional problems we were unaware of (ear infection, etc.). She sent me home with four medications and already had applied two of them during examination. Directions were easy. Not only was the experience amazing, the prices were as well. Examination was roughly $49 (rounded up) and with four medications, total came out to be around $163. I heard about crazy vet bills but this was definitely something I could swallow. They called me a few days after to check up on my dog to see how he was doing and asked if I had any questions for Dr. Tang. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will FOR SURE be returning to Dr. Susan Tang and am happy to have Toby (my Yorkshire) see her as the primary (new) vet.

After my rescue dog received inadequate care from another vet I decide to try Mohawk Alley. What I got was a completely different experience from the first vet I tried. The vets, vet techs, and staff were caring and communicative. They treated my dog who had severe pneumonia. They held her for a few days for IV treatment and more. They communicated with me to update on her progress. They arranged for me to come visit her during the 2nd day and, most importantly, she made a speedy recovery after being in their care for a few days. Although vet costs are never cheap I honestly felt they were trying to keep costs down for me and were sympathetic to the fact I just rescued this dog that the organization told me was completely healthy and ready to go home with me. Also, when I had a question about my dogs antibiotics, the vet responded promptly by email after hours. Cant say enough positive things about my experience with them last month.

I had come to this location previously for an emergency and I was seen right away. So, i rushed to this hospital again, because my dog was yelping in blood curdling pain and was in need of care immediately. He was crying and shaking, but I was told by a very rude receptionist that I needed to go elsewhere, because they were "fully booked". My dog was in need of treatment fast, and they couldnt squeeze him in, because they had appointments. Ridiculous and unethical!! To make matters worse the receptionist had the nerve to be sarcastic with me when i aburptly left. I was not going to waste any time and listen to her explanation for why they couldnt help my crying dog. As I turned around I could hear her say to her co-worker, "This isnt a charity".

I just came back with my kitty and must say everyone was very nice. I made my appt. and did not wait very long. The vet and vet tech took very good care of my kitty very reasonable prices compared to other clinics in the Echo Park area. The reception area was very clean as well as the exam room. They even put a note on the eraser board "Welcome Paige" I thought that was very sweet. The vet gave my kitty a very thorough exam too, even though I came in for an eye infection. They gave me and estimate of the cost after the exam too.I would highly recommend this clinic and will continue to use them.

Getting an appointment at Mohawk is really easy (I used to have to call far in advance at my old vet for routine visits), and the front office staff are really friendly. The other nice thing that I enjoy is that you are not placed in a room and forced to wait for a long time at the vet--this does mean that you may be in the lobby for a while, but I like that better. Additionally I appreciate the advice and time given by the veterinary staff. I had a great experience at this vet, and I will continue coming here while I live in the area. Thanks for taking care of my buddy!
