This hospital was a joke! I walked in and knew right away that something was wrong. Its not really staffed. I didnt see a hospital till day 2. My brother was brought here because he was hit by a drunk driver. They did surgery on his leg, but ignored his cut up tongue and his torn up arm. When I arrived on day two I was told that this crap hospital had put in TWO requests to kaiser to have my brother transferred as he is a kaiser member. Sadly I believed them and sat around and wasted. A few hours later I decided to call Kaiser. Thats when I found out NO request had ever been made for a transfer. I chased down the only RN I could find and begged him to put the transfer in. It took 26 hours from the time I started pushing to get my brother moved. By the time he got to Kaiser they told him it was too late to stitch up his arm because the wound had started to dry. Samantha was the only positive nurse at this crap hospital. She really did try to help. The doctor that did come in the next day basically said "i dont know why they made so many mistakes....." But he never apologized. I would avoid this place if at all possible. I think they kept my brother hostage there for insurance money because most of their rooms were empty. My brothers girlfriend was also admitted to this crap hospital. They stitched up her cracked scull. Two days later they called and told her that after looking at her CT again, they realized she had a cracked clavicle. WTF? What kind of place is this? My brother said when he came out of the surgery room two nurses were fighting right over him. He was so uncomfortable and upset. HE didnt need that negativity. Also, nobody every came to pick up his food trays. His room was getting disgusting. It was is bizarre experience to say the least. Avoid this terrible place!!!

I arrived at 5AM for a 7AM lower back surgery. Walked literally a few steps to be greeted by a smiling receptionist and helpful security guard. I was shown the way to where I was to "check in". I was told my contact would be in by six to complete unfinished paperwork (the bulk of which was done over the phone the previous day, which made it a breeze to complete). The friendly lady was on time and quickly I was shown the way to my next stop. I know it was an early morning surgery, but it was so personable; I felt like the hospitals total focus was on me (it felt kinda good). Soon I was on the gurney, met the gas-passer, the doctors assistants and I felt very confident that I was in good hands. The very competent Dr. T. Gravori was now before me and we chatted, had a few laughs and after a few deep drags of the gas I was out of it. Surgery performed (without any glitches; the reason I tell you this is because not mentioning a near downtown L.A. hospital that I had a previous back surgery performed, I awoke expecting to begin healing, only to be told that the power went out and theyd give it a shot tomorrow. I thought they were joking and I thanked them for there "kidding" ways, to perhaps give me a chuckle. Well, not kidding, so no chuckle, only me thinking "what the phuckle", it was true!) and Im awakening around noon. Comfortably spend an hour in recovery, made small talk with friendly staff, up into an empty, spacious 3rd floor room. Stayed overnight, all that helped me were pleasant as can be, the food was above average and everything was explained to me. Ive been in L.A. for most of my 61 years and I wasnt aware of this hospital. To me, I give it top marks on all counts. I say to them, "THANK YOU!"

I woke up on morning completely paralyzied from head to toe and terrified. I was taken by ambulance to UCLA/ER (Great/ER!), but then due to a mix up in my insurance (I was supposed to go from there to Cedars) I was instead sent to the abosolutey (with exception of Kaiser, who I wouldnt send a dog to), without a doubt, 100% the worst hospital in the great Los Angeles Area. The staff of nurses consists of a bunch of very short Filpna nurses not speaking english, suprvised by some of the worst Charge RNs in the business (who should have their licences pulled!) One "charge RN" was showing the student nurses how to start an IV on my arm and hit me in 10 different places without getting a vein. I told her to try the port left over from UCLA in my wrist and she said it wouldnt work, but finally gave it a try and it worked great. My wife and I have lived in Los Angeles for more then 15 years. I used to be an EMT and she is just retiring as an RN. When I was able to move enough to use the phone (She had beed told I had been deverted to St. Johns (Great hospital) I called her and told her where I was. She ran home, got me some clothes and I left AMA Immedicately! Never and I mean never send anyone you care about to Olympian Hospital! EVER! The RNs rotinuely lie to the MDs about care offered and most of the minor staff have that "trapped look" of "Please this is the best job I can get!" Someone (I guess) is running that hospital, but its sure as hell is not admin. I give it 1 star because yopu cant give none.

The nurses in the er were cool but dr. Jamehdor was the rudest human. I was taken there because i had a headache which i past out from. When emts came to my house my bp was 159/100. When the doctor came in he asked me if i wasnt sure i just wanted pain meds. Um are you kidding me. The nurse mura came in and gave me meds and said the doctor seems to not like me much. Another lady came in and gave me a number to call to report him. I told them i didnt want pain meds. I see my cancer doctor.tuesday. i felt humiliated. I just sat there crying. I have never been accused of med seeking before. I just wanted answers as to why i past out. The suddenly i was being discharged. I told the nurse i could feel my heart.fluttering and i was scared. She said she understood and that i should go to a differant er. When i requested to see a differant doctor she told me i.better just go or the doctor was going to call the police. Are you kidding me??? I was at this same er 2 weeks ago for a stomach flu. But refused pain meds. This doctor is on a power trip. My bp was up and down. The nurse even came in and said the doc wanted me off the cardiac monitor. Which kept beeping because of my heart rate. I will never return to this hospital again. I called my actual doc.and shes gonna help me find out why i past out. This doctor has horrid bed side manor and needs his DO removed. So if u go there and u are seen by a dr. Ali jamehdor watch out...

My wife received service at this hospital back in 2015. My wife had just found out she was pregnant, but she was having some complications so we went here to have her checked out. The doctor told her she had had a miscarriage (he used the term "the child has been aborted") and gave her medication that would have killed the baby had she taken it. Luckily we went straight from this hospital to another physician who looked into it and found out the baby was fine, but that my wife had a blood clot. My wife continued to receive care at this other medical center (Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, which is a fantastic facility) and we now have a 10 month old baby. I write this review now not because the care we received at Olympia Medical Center could have killed our baby, but now (1.5 years later) we have still not received a bill from them, but did receive a phone call yesterday that they were taking our account to collections. I understand sometimes there can be misdiagnosis (although in this cause it was likely negligent), but the fact that they would never send us a bill after us repeatedly asking for it and then put us in collections, it just shows how poorly the entire facility is run. I actually just tried calling the hospital as well to get information on how to pay and no one answered in their business office.
