Our dog went into shock after receiving a vaccine and a cysto (procedure that extracts urine from a dog using a syringe that is inserted into a dogs belly, puncturing the bladder). The story of what happened is long and I dont want to drown this review with every detail. So, below are the reasons for my bad review in relation to what happened to my dog at MPH: - Dr. Swope kept providing the same treatment to our dog without knowing what was wrong with her. She did not bother to ask for a second opinion from another veterinarian or recommend seeing a specialist to find out whats wrong with my dog. She did recommend we go to an emergency room or a specialist group for MORE MONITORING ONLY. - While our dog was at MPH receiving treatment, we asked Dr. Swope to give us a call to provide an update. Her response was, "I WILL FORGET." So, we had to call to get an update. - The technicians forgot to give us our dogs prescription. So, we had to go back and knock on the door (since they locked it the second we stepped out of the hospital) to get it. At that point, the technician seemed confused and wasnt aware that she was supposed to give me a prescription when it was clearly written in our dogs chart. - The technicians were very pushy to get us out of the door. It was past 6 PM (their closing time) and we had asked for a few minutes to privately discuss our next steps as our dog was still in distress. At first, the technician left, but returned very quickly and just stood there rushing us to provide her an answer. After everything that happened with my dog at MPH, a few minutes regardless of their close time is not much to ask for. This was very disrespectful and we felt like we were just an annoyance to them. If felt like their business was dictating their care. - When asked about their policy and what procedures are taken when an occurrence like what happened to my dog happens, no one could give me a straight answer. Dr. Swope and the technicians seem like their didnt know what their own hospitals policies were. - THEY LACK CARE AND COMPASSION WHEN THINGS GO AWRY. No one ever called to check up on how our dog was doing. When we went in the following day to confront the Ben Sures, RVT and part owner of MPH, not one person (technicians and Dr. Swope) asked how our dog was doing. THE ONLY TIME THEY EVER SHOWED CARE AND COMPASSION WAS WHEN IT INVOLVED GETTING PAID AT THE END OF A VISIT. This is POOR VETERINARY PATIENT CARE. Fortunately, my dog is on her way to recovery by following the advice of another vet and a family friend who is also a vet. We decided to follow our gut and go against Dr. Swopes treatment recommendations and take our dog home (She had us sign a waiver saying that she and MPH will not be responsible for anything that happens to our dog after leaving the hospital). Taking our dog home was probably the best decision we ever made. Dont let the friendliness of the staff and vets fool you. Until now, we havent had a problem with the hospital. BUT when things go bad, they will do everything in their power to save their own hospital and staff. Theyre only concerned about making money. They have no compassion for the animals they treat. I highly suggest you find a veterinary hospital that has an open door policy so you can see exactly what they are doing to your pet and veterinary doctors who are very transparent about what should be done and shouldnt be done. Ultimately, you want the best treatment for your loving pet. This is not the place to go for that.

This pet hospital is a scammer. I brought in an old cat who was running and jumping with great quality of life even though he had stage 4 kidney disease and anemia. Dr Brandy talked me into a $1000 "rejuvenation" therapy that should have been called death therapy. He couldnt even stand up after their 3 days of therapy and the tests showed no improvement. He died a week later. We should have had him for several months with the same good quality of life according to the other (2nd opinion) vets I took my cat to after Montrose Pet Hospital destroyed him. They assumed his anemia was caused by the kidney disease but it was caused by a different illness that was treatable but after Montrose Pet Hospitals treatment he was too far gone for even a blood transfusion to save him. Some "rejuvenation" therapy. I am so sorry I went to them. When I explained the situation they didnt care, said they "did the usual" and refuse to refund my money. Apparently they really are all about the money and, worse, incompetent at diagnosis and refuse to take responsibility when they make a mistake or LIE to get approval for an expensive therapy I would NEVER have approved had the Dr told the truth.

I have been to COUNTLESS amounts of veterinary hospitals in the Los Angeles area, and have had my dog seen by many different doctors. After hearing others testimonials and reading some positive reviews left by others, I decided to give the Montrose Pet Hospital a try. Since I Was unable to make phone calls at work I logged into there website and was able to request an appointment right there online. We exchanged a few emails for basic information, which a girl by the name Amanda, replied to instantly making things easy! Got to the Hospital, handed them all my dogs past papers and a few minutes later I was in the room with Dr. Bayliff. She was an excellent doctor, asked many questions, let me ask all the questions I may have had, without seeming like she was in any sort of rush to see the next patient, which was nice. She diagnosed Bruisers issue, explaining all my options, and then was able to have him vaccinated and out in no time. Price was what I pretty much expected including the two medications he went home with. Over all had a great experience with the Montrose Pet Hospital, all there helpful staff members, and Dr. Bayliff. Highly recommend. Thanks!

Made a phone call to them to get info on their services. We were thinking of going in and have been calling a few vets around the area to get a comparison on prices. However we were immediately put on hold and were on hold for just a few seconds before 5 minutes when the recording does an automatic ring again. Rachel answer and again want to put us on hold. Not any other vet did this to us. I can only imagine how we would be treated and how long wed have to wait if we actually did go to this vet. But also, how could we even make an appointment if we keep getting put on hold. If we had said yes, they would have had us on hold for almost 10 minutes then or even longer? Terrible office management. Clearly they do not have enough staff or good management to handle more clients.
