I would NEVER recommend this vet!!!!! I had the most horrible experience. To make a long story short I bought an English puppy and she developed entropion which is a common eyelid defect in the breed that causes the eyelashes to rub and scratch the eye but is fixed with a common surgery, so I took her the vet the breeder had suggested. Dr. Mike had said he could fix the situation and he apparently gave a “good deal” $590. I assumed this guy knew what he was doing so my 8 month old puppy had the surgery. Apparently I was mistaken because not even 3 days post surgery my dog’s eyes looked horrible, so I took her back to him and he “repaired” some stitches. Two weeks later I noticed that her eye not only looked really bad she was still blinking like crazy from the eyelashes still rubbing, so I once again took her back and he said he had to remove some scare tissue that was caused by the first surgery, so he put her back to sleep and did another surgery. Another few weeks go by and the same thing she is still blinking and her eyes look like someone butchered them open. This time instead of taking her back to a Dr. that obviously doesn’t know what he is doing I took her to my Vet which informed me that the butcher job that was done on my dog was going to need an eye specialist to repair! So after a total of $1,200 I paid for Dr. Mike to correct my dog’s eyes, I was now going to need to spend $2,800 at a specialist to repair Dr. Mikes "repair"! Some “deal”. This is not even the worst part sad to say! This vet put my dog to under anesthesia 3 different times and even put her on tranquillizers for 7 days to make sure the last surgery could heal right. What he didn’t do was notice she had a severe heart mummer, which the specialist did immediately! I was told she could not go under until a cardiologist was to exam her. Once that was done come to find out she has SEVRE Valular Pulmonic stenosis, the cardiologist told me that I was very lucky that she did not die on the tranquillizers alone, and she was stunned that my dog didn’t die from the anesthesia. Point is this vet almost killed my dog on 3 different occasions because of his negligence to perform the proper examinations prior to putting a dog under anesthesia! Not even to mention that it would have all been for nothing because he did not even fix the problem at hand, he made it way worse and put my dog through hell!

I was referred to Dr. Mike by Pet Partners next door. I was concerned about cost and the health of my Dog. Dr. Mike is an older man with a big heart. He was able to work with me on costs and didnt over medicate. My Dog is old and a cancer survivor. , There wasnt alot we could do for her this time, but he was able to diagnose what was going on alt more inexpensive than the other vets I had consulted. The other vets had put me in a panic and led me to beleive that immediate major medical care was needed even though the outcome wasnt going to be really good. Dr Mike helped me weigh my options, was very honest and was very comforting in his advice. My dog did pass in Nov, but I was able to keep her comfortable and happy up to the end. I thank Dr. Mike and his staff for saving me alot of uneccessary expenses and emotional trauma through out this whole ordeal. Yes, the buisness is small and does have animal odors that drift in from the grooming business/kennel next door, I found the exam rooms cluttered but not dirty, and Dr Mike very knowlegable. I am very happy with my experience and DO reccommend him to anyone looking for an "Old school" vet who isnt in it for big money. He does accept most pet insurances and has very flexible rate scales. Thank You Dr Mike

This is the WORST place for any pets in LBC!!! Dr. Miike Hegazy the so called vet killed my 3 yr old cat, then had the nerve to send me with a dead cat to an emergency animal hospital in Cerritos. My cat went in on a Tuesday for a nail trim, and gave him booster shots and a rabies shot with out me even asking for it and by Friday my Cat was dead. Vet said i waited to long to bring the cat in and that it wasnt a reaction to the boosters, when it clearly stated all the side effects on the paperwork I was given. I brought my lethargic cat in and he was breathing fine...then this idoit vet did something to him behind closed doors and they come out and said the cat is in bad shape having seizures and in and out of a coma!!! WTF??? So they told me to turn on the heat in the car and keep rubbing the cat. My cat died on the way to the emergency hospital. The vet and all his staff are F**KING idiots, and they just try to get your money by giving your pet crap they dont need, and that you didnt ask for. THIS IS THE WORST PLACE EVER I SWEAR TO YOU!!! Dont trust them beware.

After reading the bad reviews i was a little hesitant of taking my 9 week old puppy. But i took a chace since the were the only clinic with reasonable prices and open late. The clinic is pretty small and simple but it smelled clean. I was pleased with the staff they were friendly but i was very happy with the vet. He took very good care of my puppy and he answered all my questions. They were also able to test his stool and ablel to diagnose him for round worms in less than 10 min. He answered all the questions I had and was very nice about it. My visit came out to about 133 but that included all the testing, the visit and all the meds. Its not that cheap but after calling about 10 clinics in the long beach and sorrounding areas they had the most decent prices. My puppy is all better now!! oh yeah and they also called me days later to make sure he was doing good i thought that was very nice!

I went there in need of care for my two cats. Both of which are rescues but upon arriving there, all that was given was more and more medicine. The vet assistants are very nice and helpful, but as for the veterinarian, not the best. After giving way to much medicine to my kitten, she developed an abscess the size of a lime and needed emergency surgery. After taking her to my regular vet which is farther away, he then told me it was due to the injection site where the other vet had given her a shot 48 hours prior. I did make a follow up appointment to see the vet who had given her the injection, all he said he could do was give a free bacterial flush. Ive spent nearly $400.00 in vet bills over the past month and felt his offer was an insult. Thankfully my cat is ok, but go to him with caution. He seemed nice but in the end, I really dont feel comfortable going to him anymore.
