First off Id like to say. The receptionist and technician were amazing and friendly. Also, the wait was short. Initial contact with Dr.Steve was awkward. He seemed to be off put my dog, Zed. Which made me a bit unsure of bringing Zed here. After I was offered a bunch of procedures and exams that Zed doesnt need I tactfully told the doctor that Zed and I are only interested in what we had previously stated. A growth removal, dental exam and heart worm medication. As soon as I said this he immediately started his estimate. The estimate was approximately $550 for the growth removal and teeth cleaning. Another approximate $250 for the supposed required blood test needed to make sure Zed can go under anesthesia. Not including the heart worm medication. I feel these estimates were up charged once it was clear that we wouldnt be having a bunch of procedures done. Also, because of the fact that we are from out of town. Especially after I contacted a friend who had a similar procedure done on their companion which totaled to only a few hundred bucks. After I was given these estimates I was told that I would also owe $50 for the exam that was performed today. When I asked Dr. Steve what the exam consisted of exactly I was given the run around and told things that were obvious observations about Zeds physical health. I.E. his coat looks good, his muscles look good, his teeth look good, he behaves well, etc. The exam consisted of Zed being weighed, looked over and his temperature taken. As well as the doctor providing estimates. At the end of all this Dr.Steve wouldnt even look me in my eye once the entire process was over and we were shaking hands. To top it off, I asked if they offer a disabled military veteran discount to help compensate the heavy exam fee. They tactfully told me that they do not. I was very disappointed with this experience as a whole once I walked out of the door. I felt as though this company had swindled me out of $50 and mistreated myself and Zed.

You know youve had a great Vet visit, when you rush home to write a raving review. The front desk are so accommodating and will work their best to get you an appointment even if its busy. They accept all pet insurance which is a plus for my kitty! The waiting room is squeaky clean and peaceful music helps the wait time be very manageable. All of the technicians are very knowledge full and gentle with your furry friends. Dr. Susan was so swift with my pet and explained everything in great detail. All of the staff are passionate about animals and ever so kind. What a refreshing visit, will definitely be back for upcoming appointments. P.s. if planning on spending more than $50 (not including products) on treatments, be sure to check in on yelp for a complimentary first visit. Overall, so ecstatic to find a local vet with caring folks! Thanks Pine Animal Hospital!!!

My sister Carol Vanegas 1st introduced me to Pine Animal Hospital. My first experience upon arriving was pheew my doggies are going to ok here. I was greeed with smiles and confidence by the staff! When I finally met the doc it was awesome my dog was in pain and I had no idea how bad her little hips were. The doctor not only has a sweet smile but great bedside manners towards his patients. He was so awesome taking care of her with great news to follow. The most caring and accommodating dr. as he also took amazing great care of puppy Nikolas that I had just rescue!!! So thank doc and your awesome staff for having such a stress free enviroment and the outmost professionalism with you clients!! Roxie Rae & Nikolas aka Lucufer Love ya!!!

My finance and I are first time puppy parents and we love Pine Animal Hospital! The lobby is very comfortable and clean (this matters to us), the staff are professional and kind, and the care is excellent! As first time parents we had a lot of questions the first time we brought in Tank. Dr. Susan was patient and thoughtfully answered all of our questions. She and all of the staff made Tank feel very comfortable, he was only 8 weeks when we first took him in and they were excellent with him. I love the helpful reminder emails they send about upcoming vaccinations that he needs. The prices are a bit higher than other vets that we considered, but we dont regret our choice because the care and service have exceeded our expectations.

Update: My 16-yr old cat has done so well just 1 week after her visit to PAH. I can tell shes been feeling more like her old happy self with the medication shes been on. Shes been more alive and bubbly rolling around without the nausea that was bumming her out before. I wish I would have brought her back sooner. Brought my kitty back here after skipping a couple years and even trying another vet but they dont compare to PAH. Their whole practice smells wonderful. Their entire staff is pleasant from the front desk to Dr. Susan Sanchez for being so compassionate and throrough even with their billing. Im confident in trusting PAH with the care of my senior cat for the rest of her life. Thank you!

These guys are great with our 15 year old cat Dolphy, who is a handful, to say the least. Dolphy is a tiny terror, a scrappy runt turned Alpha who prefers to be in control at all times, doesnt want to be held even by loved ones, prefers to initiate any touching, and is smarter than any of us. They get the job done with compassion and help us keep her healthy and happy. Theyre always really friendly and professional and easy to work with. Its clear that they care about the health of our pets and always take the time to make sure we understand all the options, costs, and alternatives. Scheduling is a breeze and Im grateful for all the extra theyre willing to give to make sure shes comfortable.

Ive been in Long Beach for 16 years, Ive been to many many vets, including L.A., Long Beach, and Orange County...some good, some bad, and some very bad. But, Pine Animal Hospital is the best place Ive been hands down!!! I am so happy to have found them. Dr. Susan and Dr. Steve are both incredible people and amazing and caring vets. Everything is perfect: the atmosphere, the friendly and consistent staff, the location, the technology and the personal touches all make this place special. They care about animals, not making money off pet owners, period! Thats what makes them my one and only vet from now on! Take your pets here you will be happy you did!

they saw 3 of our furry kids, oreo sister and aubrey..... the babies did not seem afraid of them and it was a good visit...i will be taking the rest of the fur family there -- 2 at a time though lol they were very helpful in figuring out which vaccines the girls needed and how we could work it into my budget. i highly recommend them for anyone who is seeking quality care! they even had an item i have been looking for like crazy - a toothbrush and seafood flavored toothpaste for sister she has gingivitis! however the firfst attempt at brushing her teeth failed miserably, i will be trying it again shortly though!
