I came to Dr. Thornton with an uncommon request. Im looking to restore my vision through building my body awareness and daily exercises of my visual system. He didnt pass any judgements about my unconventional goal and I really appreciated that. He took great care in completing my exam and his staff was kind and helpful. I know its not good for his business to help me work my way out of glasses and contacts, so I appreciate his service all the more. My goal is going to take a while, and Im grateful to have Dr. Thorntons support along the way.

Im not an optometrist, but Dr. Thornton seems to be competent and thorough and is definitely friendly. Exam cost was $85 but was covered by my vision plan minus $10 co-pay. This is higher than the chain stores but I like to support local stores and the service was very attentive. Dr. Thornton has been in business for many years and has worked at other stores. I think he has been in business for himself for about 12 years (I may be inaccurate on that).

This is a great office - friendly and helpful people, even in a boutique-y setting. Dr. Thornton talks to me like Im an intelligent adult. I never buy glasses at the doctors office because the pressure is too high, but this was the opposite: they put no pressure on me, they offered to write down the prescription for another place, their selection was small-ish, AND I found the best glasses there. More than once. Amazing.
