From my very first contact at Home Instead, I was so impressed with the compassion and concern my family and I were shown. After calling, I was transferred to Teri, who sincerely expressed her sympathy for what our family was going through. She set up a meeting with a care coordinator for that afternoon while my dad was still in the hospital. Katie arrived less than an hour later, went through some options, and said she had someone in mind that she thought would be perfect for us. She couldnt have been more kind. My father, who suffered from dementia, had a massive stroke and would be leaving the hospital and put on hospice at home. We asked for a care giver that could be with him from 8 pm-8 am until he passed. When Pedro arrived that evening, we immediately felt comfortable and at ease with him. He said hello, but then went to my dads bedside and took his hand. He spoke gently to him, and my dad responded (one of this final interactions). Pedro was amazing! My step-mom was so confident with his care, she was able to get a full nights sleep for the first time in 5 days. Pedro cared for my dad over the next 4 nights, and was holding my dads hand when he breathed his final breath. My family was so impressed with the entire team at Home Instead. We could not be more thankful for the compassion and care they provided to us during the most difficult time. We truly will be forever grateful. Jan Henry

Having Home Instead care providers has my mother made it possible for my mom to continue to reside in her own home. The support she needs, the aid in getting to doctors, and the attention to daily needs exceeds what any of us (her children) can provide on a daily basis because each of us works and have children of our own to care for. Having the HI support has given peace of mind to all of us. We have found the path to getting the greatest benefit out of HI is communicating regularly with the staff, making sure dietary needs are recorded, appointments are noted, and other needs listed so when the different caregivers tend to her, they know what is needed and expected.
