When seeking out the advice of healthcare professionals, it is best to see just how busy the physician is when visiting his or her office. It has been said that this particular doctor is not the most personable, neither the most subtle when it comes to telling her patients that there is something wrong with them. I would imagine that if I were going to have to undergo life saving treatment, I would rather that the doctor be upfront, never minding that the provider be friendly. The doctor is not selling his or herself to us - we see certain doctors because they are good at what they do, are busy all the time, therefore making it impossible to get an appointment AND to not wait for up to 2 hours to see her at times. Though her personality can leave something to be desired, it is my own personal experiences with this doctor that compels me to tell women and mothers to be that if you are looking for a doctor who holds her patients best interests at heart, I would advise them to see Dr. Urvashi Sura. Though it may take some time for a new patient to get used to her personality (frankly I think it is just fine and am not sure what people are talking about when they say the things they do about her!), in the end you will find that this doctor is one of the BEST in her chosen field of medicine. If you are looking for a GREAT OB/GYN, indeed call and make an appointment to see Dr. Sura. She is, in my opinion and at least in the area she services, the very best in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Again, I have been seeing this doctor for more than 15 years - that is long enough to have provided my care through three pregnancies (with the last one being very difficult) and for me to know that without a doubt she is the very best at what she does. You are going to see her to get care for yourself and your unborn child and NOT to be talked to as though you are her only patient. Look around her office and know that she is busy FOR A REASON- because she is that good. I moved to the high desert for almost 8 years, and when I needed Obstetric care, I made the 70 mile trip just to see Dr. Sura. Many believe that she is not the nicest cat in the litter box, but who cares when she is the best in the area? You decide - you want someone to pander to your sense of neediness or do you want a healthy baby? If what you are looking for is someone to kiss your rear end just because you are carrying your first child, that is what your babys father is supposed to do. You dont need a good OB/GYN, you need a day at the spa. If what you want is great care by the best provider in the area, call Dr. Sura. Roxanne Cottell Pomona, CA

this was my only child so i have no other drs to compare to and prenatal care was satisfactory.. I had high blood pressure and other complications which dr sura made sure I was monitored for. however I suffered a horrific infection after she performed a csection, and for almost one week while I was still in the hospital for this brutal infection, she never came to see me, and she repeatedly told all the hospital nurses that attempted to contact her about my condition that I could go home once my high fever broke.. my fever didnt break and a crash cart was called. I was hospitalized for almost a month after my baby was sent home, my staples were removed and I had to heal from the inside out which meant painful wound care and morphine and after I was sent home with a pic line my daughter was six weeks old and I never was able to breastfeed her due to all my antibiotics. the infection was inside my uterus and the csection is the reason why, I believe dr. sura is at fault for not being more sterile and careful. I also feel that dr. sura didnt have the same respect for patients on medicare as she does for patients with other insurance. I was able to find information online that prior to her being an obgyn dr sura was in a different medical field and was sued twice and basically HAD to choose another medical field. look her up and you will see. I would NEVER go back to her.

I just LOVE Dr. Sura!!! I had her as my OB for my first pregnancy and had an amazing experience! I love all of the staff in the office. I always get a warm greeting. Every time I call the office for advice or any questions they will talk and explain everything to me until I understand. I love her assistant Wendy and she is great at drawing blood lol! I came back to her again because she is quick and to the point, funny, but will also take time to explain things for you if you need. I cant speak highly enough about Dr. Sura and her entire office!

I had been going to Dr. Sura for years. She delivered my 2 girls. She had a great staff until she brought her sister in to do the billing. They wanted me to pay for a mistake that she made when billing my insurance. I have a ppo and I usually just pay my co-pay, but because the billing department made an error in the billing code, they tried to make me responsible for that portion. After calling my insurance company I then tried to explain to Dr. Suras sister that she make a mistake, she told me that Dr. Sura would no longer provide services.

This office just broke our hearts. Weeks ago, we scheduled an ultrasound for today. They just called and asked us to come in an hour and a half earlier. They said that the technician doesnt want to wait for our appointment time and they cant make her. Due to our work schedules, we were unable to accommodate them. We were so excited to learn the gender of our baby today, but I guess this conflicts with their priorities. Instead, well be dealing with the headache of finding a new doctor with a reliable staff.

She is upfront very serious but very professional she just does her job she wont cut corners if you need something dont be afraid to ask. Delivered my baby via c section so happy offered extra monitoring while pregnant due to my previous baby being stillborn. Dont be afraid to ask questions she will answer professionally.

Dr. Sura delivered my Daughter 21 years ago. I had a condition called HELLP Syndrome. (unheard of in my family) She literally saved my Daughters and My lives. I have nothing but deep respect and admiration for this Dr.
