First off and foremost I want to warn everyone to please stay away from this pet hospital. Its purely money based and has no clue what they are doing. Read the prior one star reviews they are not lying. My experience: Took my dog in for an exam $125 before I could sit down called to make an appointment but was charged an emergency fee, a regular appointment $48. Got taken into a room looked at my dog for 2 mins, asked me to wait outside. 2 mins later came back to me with a bill for $500 of that I had to give another $200 before anything could forward I pay like a good sheep. So I leave my dog as they said he would need an x-ray he is a 15 lb. pug but they need to sedate him why is beyond me maybe for the $49.80. They asked while he was sedated would I like his nails cut I said sure I am billed $17.85 while sitting in the waiting room I hear the receptionist tell a person on the phone that if the dog is sedated the finger nail trimming is $5.00 this they later refunded when I had to bring it to their attention. The ER fee of $125 even though I was never informed this was an actually emergency since I called to make an appointment, was shrugged off. I called in to inquire about picking my dog up they said come at 6:30 I do. The vet a girl not sure her name Amend? comes into the room and explains the x-ray saying my dogs shoulder was popped out of place and while he was sedated she was able to work it back into place and heard a POP. She explained that even though she thinks she popped it back into place that it may pop out again and would wait for the radiologist report the next day. I leave with my dog knowing I was ripped off but it was more about my dog not being in pain then the money. The next day my dogs stomach is swollen like a balloon I call to make an appointment, his stomach has never been like this in the 8 yrs. I’ve owned him as I am checking in they hand me another form I read over the form it’s basically asking for more money or just be aware you are going to get charged a fee why would I potentially pay for anything that was due to their service. I refuse to sign anything at this point and ask for a manager I ask if my dogs shoulder was out of place or dislocated as the vet doctor had told me why wouldn’t they have taken an x-ray after her working the joint back into place this was something they couldn’t answer. If you break a bone, you get a x-ray before the fact the doctor resets it and you get a x-ray after the fact at least with humans maybe animals it’s not required not sure of why this wasn’t done and neither are they. As I am asking these questions a nurse I assume says we just got word back from the radiologist and it’s not a dislocation it’s an assumed soft tissue injury now I am not a doctor by any means but if it’s a soft tissue injury why are you trying to fix a dislocated bone? They bring me in a room to see another vet about his stomach problems, he says it’s probably from the sedative or the stress once again I am not a doctor and have to listen to his advice. He then explains to me that it’s a soft tissue injury assumed and I ask if this is the case why did your vet try to rework his bone into place he stated he had no clue and would have to talk to her on why she took this action before getting the radiologist report. I asked the Vet that it basically states in the report of the radiologist that they can’t find anything wrong because the report states and I quote “Unremarkable study. No overt cause for lameness. A soft tissue injury is ASSUMED. Basically they have no idea and I ask wouldn’t’ you take blood work if they can’t find the reason in an x-ray he replied would you like me to do blood work I can if you would like? Now I am telling the Vet how to do his job this is just insane to me shouldn’t they have told me the next option. Are pets being like our kids and places like this know it and will rip your wallet out of your pocket or purse before they even have a clue what the problems are. Run as fast as you can away from this joint!

My Chinchilla, Mochi, was not feeling well at all. She wasnt eating, drinking, or going to the bathroom. When she walked she would drag her belly on the ground and she was not jumping at all. I took her in to the Bird and Pet Clinic for a drop off emergency visit. Dr. Maskey and the rest of the staff here was absolutely amazing! They monitored Mochi the whole day and made sure she took her treatment. They gave her a few shots and when I came back to pick her up she was feeling so much better! She was bouncing around like her normal self. They had me give her a syringe treatment for 5 days after the appointment and she was completely back to normal after her medicine. During my time of giving treatment I had a lot of questions that came up and I was able to call Dr. Maskey and talk with her personally. They really truly care about your animals here. From the receptionists to the doctor I felt as though everyone cared about my chinchilla as if it were their own pet. I feel comfortable taking Mochi here if she were ever to get sick again and also for her check-ups. The prices were great too! I would highly recommend the Bird and Pet Clinic for any pet, especially if you are looking for a place who helps exotic animals, they really know what theyre doing here. Thank you to all the staff and to Dr. Maskey for taking such good care of Mochi <3

I have over 20 years experience working with exotic animals and Domestic animals. Therefore I am pretty picky on who I have as a veterinarian for my animals because I believe a vet should have amazing bedside manners animal handling Grace and exceptional knowledge of the animals that they work with. I also know that exotic animals especially reptiles and birds can be A challenge when working with and diagnosing them. With that being said, my family currently moved up to the area and we did not get a veterinarians in place yet. My son, Who has A bearded dragon ended up getting a pretty nasty Eye infection. I found bird and pet clinic of Roseville and made an appointment to take a long John the bearded dragon in for treatment. I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the facility and The front desk staff were extremely friendly. The veterinarian and the vet tech staff were amazing! Veterinarian did a very thorough exam and throughout the exam she explained the reason why things were certain ways and then importance of different types of treatment to my son. She took the time to educate him the way that he should be. She also took her time when she was with long John and was aware of his temperament during certain procedures that she was doing and handled him accordingly. Definitely going back here again.
