I am beyond disgusted by the practices of this veterinary office. Last week, I adopted a beautiful little terrier from the San Bernardino Shelter. Her name was Rosie. I loved this little girl just at the sight of her, but she will never get to experience the life with me that she deserved. She died last week, and it was a direct result of the negligence of this veterinary office. Since she was a shelter dog, she was required to be spayed before she could enter my care. I did not want her to be spayed, she had been under the weather in the shelter and it is dangerous for a sick dog to undergo a major surgical procedure, but it was the only way I could get her out of the shelter. I adopted her over the phone on Wednesday, July 20th, and in spite of my worry....I was happy. I was so happy that after fighting for this little girl for a week and a half- she was mine. On Thursday, July 21nd, she was sent to Advanced Pet Care for her spay. They had my sweet Rosie and called me in the morning to ask if I wanted pre-anesthesia blood work to be completed prior to her spay. I immediately jumped on the opportunity, because I was worried that she was too sick for anesthesia. I clearly asked them the implications of any abnormalities found in the lab work. I asked whether or not the spay would be deferred if her blood work was abnormal. I was told yes, so I happily paid the additional $75 for the lab work. A couple hours later, APC called me back to inform me that her blood work was normal, so they would be moving forward with the spay. I was happy to hear that her blood work was good, but still nervous about the spay. If only I had known they were lying. Rosie was picked up from the vets office by a rescue transporter on Thursday afternoon. She was tired and groggy, which was contributed to her surgery. She stayed overnight with the transporter until today, when she was picked up by a friend and rescue partner who would be keeping her for me until I could bring her home. She was still tired, so my friend allowed her to sleep. After a few hours, she checked on Rosie, but she was unresponsive. When she went to pick her up, bodily fluids (I am avoiding being too vivid here) came out of her, so she was rushed to an emergency vet. She died along the way. You may be wondering how APC failed my sweet little Rosie....that "normal" blood work they told me about over the phone? An outright lie. Her red blood cell count, hemoglobin, etc. were all dangerously low. We did not know this until well after the surgery when we got her paperwork. Rosie is dead now, and all I have left are a few pictures and (in a few weeks) her pawprint from the crematory. Since this incident, I have spoken to several veterinarians and they ALL agreed that they would NEVER spay a dog with blood work like Rosies. So why did APC?!?! For the money?!? They already got that out of me with the $75 blood panel that they IGNORED. I tried calling the Office Manager this weekend to discuss this incident, but she was out of office and today their phone lines seem to be experiencing issues. I am quite curious as to what their plan is to rectify this for me. What are they going to do for me, as a consumer, when they charged me hundreds of dollars and then KILLED MY DOG??? What are they going to do, as a veterinary clinic, to ensure this NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN to future dogs in their care??

To the most amazing and wonderful Doctors, Technicians and Office Staff at Advanced Pet Care on Arrowhead Avenue in San Bernardino, Please let me take this moment to extend my deepest gratitude. My words fail me, and I cannot begin to convey to you my sincere appreciation for your generosity that the entire clinical Staff, Technicians and Doctors extended in my time of extreme desperation and hoplessness. I brought to you my 16 month old pitbull mix puppy "Babe" who was suffering from heat exsaution, her body tempeture was in an excess of 106° degrees, her mouth, tounge, ears were blue, she was gasping to breathe, and as she struggled to breathe shed let out a scream with each exhale. The Doctors and Technicians quickly went to work on my puppy "Baeb". Myself uncontrollably crying, tears streaming from my eyes and my nose running....I was a wreck. I was beside myself unable to comprehend the possibility that I could loose my sweetheart of a puppy. I was lead into a private room, and it was there I was told that," everything was being done in their means to bring Baebs body temperature down". The Technicians stopped by the room frequently, where I was often reassure that they were doing all they could do to save Baeb. A half hour later the Doctor came back to the room to prepare me that euthaniztion could be a realization, due to possible brain and cell damage from "Baeb" having a prolonged body temperature of 106°degrees. I could not grasp or comprehend having to come to terms with such a decision. I asked the Doctor if he could please give me sometime to myself. I sat in the private room all alone, all the while just wanting to hold my puppy in my arms, if only just to give her some kind of comfort. After a passing of another half hour, the doctor visited me again, holding my breath, clenching my fist in dread of bad news, I was than told.... "Baebs body temperature was holding normal, and she is pink again... such a bittersweet moment. At a loss for words, all I could say at that moment and time was thank you. Because you are Professionals. Because you cared enough, not to turn us away. Because of you, I was able to bring my puppy home, and love on her another day. Because of you, I did not have to break my 13 year old sons heart. Because of you, I find hope in humanity. Because of you Im smiling. Its with my deepest and warmest & fondest aloha, for going well beyond and extending your kokua (help) to a family whos so far away from our home across the sea. Roxanne Justin and "Baeb" N. Adopted a dog from the san Bernardino animal shelter and was told to pick up my dog from here the next day. I called them in the morning and told them we noticed ticks on the pup and if they could get them off. They said they would get as many as they could off. We got a call around 2:30 telling us to pick him up at 4. My wife and I got there at 4 and didnt even get called back until 5. They tried to sell us on everything until the estimate was $250. Finally they were done and we took our pup home where we realized that he still had no less than 15 big ticks in his ears and paws. Not happy with the service from this vet at all.

I also adopted A dog from the animal shelter that was treated at this clinic and they refused to do the surgery because he had kennel cough so I will have it done at a later date I received very good care for my dog I thought the medication charge was too high and I felt they tried to charge me for medication I already had that I didnt need more of without them asking me and I refused to pay for that I bought a wellness plan with them for $200 for one year so I will see how that works out
