Although we had moved from Newport Beach to San Clemente a year and a half ago, we were still going up to our original Vet (who we loved) in Corona Del Mar. We had a life or death emergency recently where our two year old pug ingested rat poison and threw up his entire insides and at one point, started bleeding from both ends. We were forced to pick a local vet at random from google and THANK GOD WE CHOSE SAN CLEMENTE VETERINARY HOSPITAL!!! They took him in right away and were amazing with their knowledge, kindness, willingness to work on our dog immediately without yet knowing what the problem was. They have very sophisticated on-site technology, and highly advanced testing at their finger tips. They had certain suspicions based on experience that we had not even thought of. They immediately began vitamin K, but also became aware that his blood was not clotting, hence the bleeding from all over the place. Because of their swift actions and thinking, they literally saved our little guys life and we truly cant say enough good things about their entire staff and their amazing Doctors!!! Any other place would have forced us to go to a specialty emergency clinic, during rush hour, costing us valuable time that would probably have resulted in our beloved pugs death. The Doctors and staff couldnt have been nicer to us and worked on him past their closing time, making sure he was stable enough to take him to the over night Animal Urgent Care in Mission Viejo. He received 2 plasma transfusions (these were life saving measures as well.) The Doctors at Animal Urgent Care and the Doctors from SAN CLEMENTE VET HOSPITAL spoke with each other back and fourth on the phone for well over 30 minutes at a time on multiple occasions trying to figure out the best treatment plan. Not only were they on the phone with each other, they were calling us in real time with frequent updates. The Dr.s themselves were calling us.. not just once or twice, a multitude of times! This near tragedy happened nearly three weeks ago now, and our dogs liver count numbers are completely normal! I just received a detailed call from Dr. Habekost 2 days ago! You can tell the difference when someone actually cares about your pet vs pretending to care. THESE PEOPLE CARE! This was a whole new experience for us. I have never been treated with such kindness or compassion, not even by my own Physician, much less for my sweet pug! Our dog is best friends with our 15 month old son and this would have devastated our entire family. Our little Buddha-Lou is a huge part of our family! I dont know if I could ever thank them enough.. Our Buddha-Lou is now excited every time we take him to their office for a follow up blood test or boarding. Its as if he knows what they did for him! During our terrifying ordeal where we were in the SC VET Hospital daily, one of the doctors (Dr. Habekost) returned from her weekend and told me that she had dreams about him and was up late thinking about him..... SERIOUSLY??? How can any Vets office be so great??? As I said at the beginning of this review, we still think very highly of our Corona Del Mar Vets but will be going to SC VET Hospital from now on... Dr. Habekost & Dr. Agonstini and all of your staff THANK YOU FOR SAVING OUR BELOVED BUDDHA-LOUS LIFE!!! I dont care where you live in Orange County or even San Diego County. If you truly want the best care for your beloved pet by people who love what they do, I would strongly advise you to take them to SC Vet Hospital.

We drive an hour and a half just to come to SC Vet. The following is me keeping it short. Dr. Agostini is amazing with out dog!! She is only 4.5 years old and a pit mix.Shortly after adopting her we found out she had allergies, ear infections, and mammary cancer. He has seen her through all of this and is the reason our baby girl is alive and healthy. He is attentive, thorough, and above all the best in his field. We tried out other doctors to find one closer, but they didnt compare. SC Vet is worth the drive We have used all of their services, except boarding. Because she had caner we have had high-tech. ultrasounds, x-rays, blood work and biopsies. She receives all of her meds from this place. Their flea, tick and heart worm meds are top of the line and soooo effective. Also they do a great job grooming her. All of their work has been professional, cutting edge and caring. The entire SC vet staff knows us and is always welcoming. Our dog is not good with other dogs at all. They are the one place that respects her issues. Every time we come they slip us into a room or we slide out the back door to avoid an issue. They are so accommodating and helpful. Love this place!!

I absolutely love this place! I was referred to this hospital by my friend who had taken in her cat to get fixed a few months ago. I have a new dog that I just got from some ad I saw online and I was told the dog was healthy. The second night I had him, he started throwing up and wouldnt stop. I called the number my friend gave me and explained to the person that answered what was going on. I must have sounded pretty scared because she scheduled me an appointment for the same day. When I walked in, the office looked clean, organized and I was greeted by the same woman who took my call. She remembered not only my name, but also my dogs. I was in and out with a very inexpensive prescription medication for my dog within 30 minutes. I only wish my own doctors office was that quick and affordable! I will definitely use this hospital in the future!

I like this place. I came here for the first time this morning because of an emergency with my girlfriends puppy. From the outside the building is nice and its in a good location, really close to the freeway exit on El Camino Real. My girlfriend and I walked into a very clean and spacious lobby, where we were greeted by a friendly lady at the front desk. She offered us a treat for "kimo" (my GFs puppy) and directed me to the coffee bar area while my girlfriend did some paperwork. The coffee was actually pretty good. Eventually we were taken to an exam room, which by the way very clean. We then met Dr. Tanya who was very helpful and very kind. I would recommend this vet hospital to anyone in San Clemente. The staff is friendly, the coffee is good and the Doctors know their craft.

Dont be fooled by the beautiful exterior because my experience was anything but that. Having to put down my kitten was hard enough, but unfortunately not being able to be by his side was much more difficult. Having talked to friends regarding their personal experiences with putting their loved ones down, I quickly learned my situation shouldnt have been the case. This hospital requested a rediculous extra fee simply to be by the side of my kitten during the let down process, which they knew I couldnt afford. After researching I learned this shouldnt have been the case... Im very disappointed with their practice and wish I would have taken my pet to another location. Money seems to be the only important word in their vocabulary...
