Ive been going to veterinarians for 30 years and have found none like Dr. Tracy. I wish I lived in Santa Clarita (I live in Northridge but will gladly travel to her facility). The facility is wonderful, the staff extremely caring and knowledgeable and Dr. Tracys expertise is incomparable. Im editing my review from yesterday to let people know just how good this place is. My cat had been coughing so badly and I took her to one vet who completely misread the x-rays and gave her a steroid shot that should never have been given. I was beside myself when I brought home a cat sicker than she had been when I brought her in to the vet. Dr. Tracy answered my email and I texted her late Monday night. Without complaint she texted me and commented on the situation at hand because my kitty was in such bad shape, her body would convulse from the sheer force of the coughing. I took her in on Tuesday morning to Dr. Tracy and the x-rays showed an inflamed trachea. Dr. Tracy is keeping her overnight and staying late at her facility and will allow my kitty to come out in a room to monitor her and see if she still exhibits the same symptoms. Ive taken three of my other cats to The Cat Doctor and always had the best experience. Dr. Tracy holds and comforts the cats before she even examines them and Ive seen my cats relax immediately after she handles them. They were all well cared for, particularly my 20-year-old cat whose life was prolonged even though she had advances stage kidney disease. She got the RIGHT treatment, and with their advice and supportive care at home she lived a year longer than she would have had I not taken her to The Cat Doctor. As I said in my post that never got posted, Dr. Tracys expertise is incomparable, the other vets at the facility are wonderful, the staff is caring and beyond cordial. This is the place to go and I wish other veterinarians would care as much as they do. Oh, the prices are very good, Ive paid a lot more at other vets for a lot less, the prices are more than fair. This is the place to take your cat.

Have been a client of the owner, Dr. Tracy McFarland, for over 20 years. She is the most dedicated, thorough, honest vet I have ever had take care of my pets. For me, that is saying a lot. Have been rescuing cats since 1978, and dogs off/on even longer. She has treated my cats for everything from allergies to cancers, diabetes, hyperthyroidism. Have learned a great deal about cats, their special needs, health and also dying from working with her. She tells it like it is. Have always appreciated that. That way I can prepare, be informed....know what to do with the next similar situation. All the techs, office personnel and additional vets who work there are also knowledgeable, friendly and go out of their way to help. They are also very compassionate. Have had to say goodbye to too many of my precious family members in that office over the years. Every time several of them will give me a hug and I know they hurt, too, loosing a special creature. They are all animal lovers, with pets of their own. The prices may be a bit higher than other veterinary offices, but you know you are getting VERY special treatment for your cat. The doctors, especially McFarland, go to training seminars regularly and keep up to date on medications, treatments, palliative care, food, everything you could need for your cat. One other VERY unusual practice of theirs is to schedule a full 30 minutes for a visit....not just 10 or 15. You do not feel rushed, you know your pet is getting exactly what he/she needs. They also know exceptionally well how to take care of feral cats and will treat them as well as your pet cat. As they understand ferals are pets in waiting for the right loving human!! Do not hesitate to take your beloved cat to see The Cat Doctor.

Not impressed with the Dr. nor the inflated prices! Took my cat there because my regular Vet was closed. Also was looking to find one a bit closer to home that I could switch to. Let me say upfront that I have been rescuing and taking cats to the Vet for over 20 years I am probably a bit more informed about procedures than the average person. So I bring my cat in for a spout of Diarrhea and vomiting and generally being not herself. She also had a wart on her back that was starting to look a bit unappetizing. After speaking with her about the current problem which she gave me meds for. She immediately proceeded to tell me that the cat needed a Dental (which was true) and told me the abscess had to be removed under anesthesia (which was NOT true) basically she told me one way or another the cat (15 years old) had to absolutely be put under. Then I got the estimate, CHA CHINGGGGG! for a Dental, pulling of one tooth, removing of the abscess, anesthesia etc. over $700. The removal of the abscess alone was almost $300. I took the cat to my regular Vet, he removed the ward with a handi dandi tool right in front of me, without even so much as a local anesthetic, the cat never flinched! The Dental was done for less than $300 under full anesthesia with multiple tooth extractions and meds to go home. On the bright side though they did manage to give me the proper meds to make the cat feel better and get rid of the Diarrhea. Im not sure why this place has such great reviews as it is clear to me that their first priority is the mighty green.

Absolutely pleased with the service and highly recommend this vet. I have been bringing my cat here for years and cant imagine taking her anywhere else. Everyone on the staff is professional and friendly. Doctor Tracy has always seen my cat herself and I trust her implicitly. Having moved here from the east coast, I have found the prices to be very fair, if not modest, compared to Boston/NYC. I firmly believe everyone here has my cats best interest at heart. The negative reviews are completely inconsistent with my experiences. I have never had any trouble scheduling an appointment with Dr. Tracy or getting my kittys prescription filled, either on short notice or well in advance. They call the day before an appointment as a courtesy to remind you. I greatly value Dr. Tracys personal touch in terms of follow up to discuss or answer any questions (she calls you on the phone either early morning or in the evening) after any procedure (ie blood work) has been performed. Thank you for treating my kitty like she was your own!!!

THERE IS NO OTHER BETTER THAN THE CAT DOCTOR! My cat Cheetos was very sick. My Uncle took her to The Cat Doctor and Friends vet clinic. They diagnosed my kitty with kidney failure and recommended that she be put down. The whole visit and the fee to put her down was only $30! Although I was so upset at loosing my precious kitten, it helped me so much that they were very caring and understanding of my financial situation. Had I gone somewhere else, the outcome would have been very different. When I am emotionally ready to get another kitten, I already know where she is going for care!
