Our primary home is in San Francisco, but we have a small condo in the Larkfield area of Santa Rosa. The last time we were staying there, our small terrier, Poppy, began violently shaking his head and rubbing it against the carpet. We knew something was wrong and were very concerned, so we found the Larkfield Veterinary Hospital in an Internet search and called them to see if they could schedule an emergency appointment for Poppy. They responded immediately and agreed to examine Poppy less than an hour later! With a simple form to fill out and only a few minutes wait, we brought Poppy into the vet. She was thorough, professional and kind. After a brief examination, she identified the problem (an ear infection), applied medication and sent us home with clear, simple instructions and a scheduled follow-up visit. We are extremely grateful to the Larkfield Veterinary Hospital for their excellent care on short notice, and will certainly call on them again if need arises during one of our visits to the North Bay!

I love the staff at Larkfield Veterinary Hospital! I rescued a dog recently and had a coupon to receive her shots from Greendog. I hadnt had a dog in 15 years so I asked a ton of questions. They were very patient and answered all my questions. Since December, my cat Sheila had been ill. I had taken her to another vet nearby. After 4 visits and several doses of steroids she was not getting better. I made a call to Larkfield and took her in. The doctor spent 2 hours working with my cat to finally solve the problem that had made her so sick for months. The price was very reasonable and she is finally well. My animals are now loyal Larkfield Veterinary Hospital clients! So grateful to have found such a caring staff to take care of my furbabies!

If you are looking for a collaboration of people who genuinely CARE about you and your pets, this is the place to go! Having worked extensively with the staff and with both Dr. York and Dr. McEvoy, I can say that from a behind-the-scenes view, these people care about your pets. The hospital prides itself on being affordable, friendly, helpful, clean and efficient. Dr. York is extremely thorough and explains all situations clearly to patients, and is a wonderful doctor. Knowing everyone there personally, I can truly say these people will love your pets like their own and will do whatever it takes to make sure they get the very best. If you have a choice between vet hospitals in Santa Rosa, this is undoubtedly the place to go.

Dr. McEvoy is very rude if you question him on anything. I needed Heartgarud for my dog, and was told I had to get an annual exam. I went in fo the exam they charged me $40 to check his heart with a stethascope and tell me my dog was fine, which I already knew. I asked if that was really neccessary just to get a prescription, then Dr. McEvoy got very arumentative and told me if I wanted the prescription I would need a heartworm test now. Even though he told me seconds before I questioned him my dog was fine. I will not be going back to that vet. I had been a customer for 4 years, and he didnt think twice about how he treated me at that point.

i dont do reviews........UNLESS ........i am remarkably impressed and this was the case with Larkfield. i live in san mateo and was visiting family in santa rosa. my labrador needed some medical attention and i went off my relatives recommendation of Larkfield. From the first phone call to the last follow up call (aprox 2 months later) i was impressed with their consistent professionalism and knowledgeable staff. i can not emphasize enough how refreshing it was to deal with a such pleasant group of people. i truly hope they get the recognition they rightfully deserve and sure wish they were in san mateo.

I was referred to Larkfield Veterinary Hospital when I first moved to Santa Rosa. Almost six years later, they are like part of my family. Not having children of my own, my three dogs are my closest companions and the most important responsibilities in my life and the Larkfield team makes it clear that they feel the same! Top-notch, innovative, affordable healthcare for my pets sets them apart - but the compassion, kindness, love and caring each person on the Larkfield team shows to my animals, and to my partner and I when we visit, is why we will never switch vets! They are simply the best!

We recently moved all of our dogs to the Larkfield Veterinary practice after years w/ our vet who retired. It was such a relief to find the same concern, care, interest, and commitment to our dogs that we had with our previous vet. The front desk staff are very friendly and competent. And the first time we took our 4 dogs to meet the new vets for exams, the dogs had the same reaction they had with their previous and longtime vet......absolute delight and happiness at meeting them and being there! They clearly felt very comfortable with the vets and staff. Thats all I can ask for!

I wrote a note an d I guess it was lost. I wanted to say that Posey (12 pounds) had her physical. The Vet came down to her level and I was on the bench and she was close by...no problem....I think she enjoyed the Vets attention and showed off a bit. The front staff is always happy to fill the coffee water. Then there is Billie...he clips Poseys nails but I remember him for his compassion when I had a sick dog and a dog that had to be placed....five stars to all of you and thanks.

Today I had an apt for my 13 year old Corgi who cowered under the bench seat. By the end of the exam my dog loved Dr. Kevin Sheehy and got lots of treats and cuddles. I left with a clear diagnosis, printed article with explanations, medication, lots of discussion and answer time, and a follow up apt. Place is spotless and front desk is friendly and efficient. True respect and care for animals ( and their owners) is shown here.

We have three dogs in the family, all of them have been treated at Larkfield Veterinary hospital. Larkfield is the best veterinary clinic I have ever visted in my life! Staff are very very friendly! Dr. Sheehy is very passionate at his job, and he gives lots of love to my dogs every visit. They only sell you what you need, and pricing are very reasonable! Would recommend it to every pet owner in the area!

I only visited this vet hospital once when I wasnt sure what was wrong with my dog. During this visit, the Dr. took lots of time with us and unfortunately found out my dog was much sicker than we had expected. He supported us on follow up phone calls and after my dog passed away, they took the time to send us a sympathy card, even though we only visited them once. Ill return there when I get my next dog.
