I was under the impression that Dr. Palmatier had good experience in dealing with RATS, so I brought my rat in. (I saw a rat web page referral to him and the receptionist echoed that he had an expertise in this area.) He did not even know how to handle rats -- he started bending forward when she went onto his shoulder, so my rat was climbing down his back ... He seemed a bit of a faker, with respect to his dealings with rats. The technician who brought us in asked about vomitting -- which rats cannot even do. Then he echoed "no vomitting" as well when he came in to the exam room. I actually brought in two rats -- one to have tumor (my guess) removed and to have her spayed as well, and second rat to spay. He did not recommend spaying either, and the estimate for tumor removal surgery was $250 -- I got home and turned around and went back to get the rat, and found another vet who looks like she really knows rats, who said it may just be a cyst because of its location near tail, and who also diagnosed mites. I only brought in the second rat for spay-only because I was thinking of getting them both done at once, but since he wanted to do research to figure out the benefits of spaying an 18month old rat, he did not suggest doing spay on either, but he did examine the second rat, though I did not bring her in for any problem. When they went to charge me $35 for *nothing* for this second rat, he at least reversed that charge. But his manner and expertise with rats made me really uncomfortable, not to mention the ridiculous price, made me turn around and go get my rat. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM FOR RATS. And his manner was so odd, and the office staff attitude was also not very good -- so I would not recommend Dr. Palmatier or Heritage Veterinary Hospital for any pet.

I have been taking my pets to him for years. Dr Palmatier is a bit hard to understand as he does tend to talk in medical lingo, but he has always taken good care of my pets. One of my cats was hit by a car and suffered a broken hip--another vet suggested a very expensive procedure would be the only way she would ever walk again, Palmatier gave me options. Saving me thousands of $s or putting the cat to sleep. The cat has recovered 100% and there are no signs that she was ever injured. They have always found the most cost effective way to deal with the issues that come up. Best bet is to just ask him to dumb it down for you--he will. I have also used his associate vets and found them to be helpful in explanations. I have always found top notch people at this office.

I LOVE Heritage! I have been taking my cat here for about 3 years, and Dr. Fisher and all of the wonderful ladies are the best! They take amazing care of Jack, and are the nicest people ever. Dr. Fisher really listens to my concerns and does honest work and treats Jack like he was her own. They always do a special order for Jacks food, and always ask how hes doing when I go to pick it up. I never feel rushed there, and its really easy to get an appointment. When Jack gets tests done, they always call the next day with the results, so youre not left hanging, and they explain everything in great detail. I highly recommend this place, they care about all animals! And youll be greeted by the funniest cat, Dudley, who will eat anthing in sight.

I have no idea what those people are talking about. The staff at Heritage were awesome. They always greet us when we come in and even come from around the counter to greet our pets. It is obvious that they love and care for ALL the animals and are there because they want to be. The doctor is the most thorough weve ever met (even though we cant understand what hes talking about sometimes), but will explain in lehmans terms if we asked him to. Everyone seems so educated and helpful and the hospital itself is clean and very warm. We love Heritage and trust our pets get the best and most loving care of any other hospital weve ever been to. They all go above and beyond when it comes to caring for their patients.

Ive been bringing my animals here for years and love the staff! Dr. Palmatier, as well as other vets in off hour situations, have always given great care to our animals. Beginning about 9 months ago our little dog began to have seizures. The Heritage staff has been so kind and supportive. Dr. Palmatier has called and checked on her, suggested treatment options and updates many many more times. All of this on his own time - not during an actual appointment. Due to his persistence and research our pup is getting better and hasnt had a seizure in over 2 months. I appreciate too that he always gives us treatment options so that we can decide how far we want to go with our animals care.

We brought our 2 year old dog in because he has a yeast problem. The Dr. did not recognize the problem and to be honest I dont even know if the Dr. knew what he was talking about. He said our dog may have fleas and that is why he is itching and missing hair. Our dog is a white short hair with pink skin. I have never seen a flea on him. The Dr. gave him antibiotics and sent us away confused. I stopped in the office again to try to get more understanding of what may have been wrong with him, because the problem did not go away, the girl at the front found that the Dr. didnt write any notes in his chart. Thanks alot for the waste of money and making my dog miserable longer than necessary.

I have loved my experience at Heritage Veterinary Hospital. The people there are so kind, and seem genuinely interested in your pet and their health. I brought in my pet bunny a few times (an indoor pet) and although it is kind of obscure to have a bunny live in your house, they were very knowledgeable about house bunnies and were very patient and sweet towards her. They are always there to answer questions on the phone if I have them and take you seriously. I would recommend Heritage Veterinary Hospital to anyone with a pet. There is nothing more important than feeling like your vet takes as much interest and care in your animals health as you do, and this place surely does that.

Dr. Fisher is the best!!! My dog ended up having 3 types of cancer and we had to bring her in for a surgery, and with one of the cancers she had they told us if they opened her up and it was to a certain stage they would usually just put them down there. Luckily that was not the case and all 3 were removed. She ended up having another form of cancer a few years later not related to the first round and had surgery a second time. Needless to say Heritage and specifically DR. Fisher saved my dogs life. I recommend this place to everyone!!! They also accept Care Credit so it makes it a little easier to be able to finance instead of paying right away.
