As someone who has gone to Signal Hill Pet Hospital longer then even anyone who works there today, I believe I have the objectivity and history to properly and gladly rate them "excellent"...a 30! They changed ownership somewhere around 2004-2005 and Ive been going there since 2001. No one is there when I first visited but Ive had every "excellent" reason to keep going. Anyone familiar with Frenchies knows, besides being the most lovable, fun and intelligent dogs on earth:), they usually need more vet care then most breeds. Ive stayed with Signal Hill for 10+ years because of (3) basic criteria I look for in a vet (in order of importance): 1) do they care for my Frenchies as good or better than I would? YES! 2) are the doctors and staff friendly and helpful to me? YES!; 3) are their services priced reasonably? YES!) I TOTALLY TRUST Signal Hill for these and other reasons. For (7) years now, I know and TRUST Dr. Attalla (and Dr. Boctor on the rare occasion she is not available) will give Lou and Lil the best care and attention she and her staff can give. Whatever their ailment, she has ALWAYS diagnosed them correctly because they ALWAYS heal quickly - that goes for the more then a few times Dr. Attallah has performed surgeries on both L&L too. (Something she will only do as a last resort.) Dr. Attalla knows L&L mean everything to me so she takes all the time this neurotic doggie-daddy needs to make sure I understand the "whats" and "whys" of whatever treatments they need. Simply put, Dr. Attalla is a kind person; compassionate, skilled, an expert at what she does. She is always available whenever I call for her right then or quickly after my message. I reallllly appreciate that. The staff is always very helpful, kind and friendly too. They give L&L a big hello whenever we come in and ALWAYS! fit me into Dr. Attallas schedule whenever I need, including same day. They are great about follow-ups and reminders about their annual+ vaccinations. Louie and Lilly are glad to see Andrea, Misael and other staff members not only Dr. Attalla. L&L wouldnt be shaking their adorable, unbendable brick bodies, lol, if they werent anything but kind, caring people and professionals. Lastly, Frenchie care is always expensive because its def more frequent and Ive never skimped on their needs, preventive or immediate. Signal Hills prices are definitely reasonable compared to other pet hospitals and they look for ways to save me money, seriously!! More important, they have always worked with me if I cannot pay for everything all at once. This rare kind of loyalty and understanding is an ultimate example Dr. Attalla and the staff at Signal Hill put the care of my Louie and Lilly FIRST above everything. Ive moved away from Long Beach in the last year. Its no longer 5 minutes but 45 minutes to get there. I wouldnt go anywhere else but Signal Hill Pet Hospital. Dr. Attalla, Dr. Boctor and all their terrific staff care for Lou and Lil like they are the most important family in my life. Yep, Signal Hill Pet Hospital is "excellent", "a 30", as close to perfection as a pet hospital can get. Its their people and their care. Thanks to all of you!!!

this place is a SCAM! These people are not proffesional! most horrible experience. My boyfriend took my 13 year old ESA dog to get her nails clipped and vaccines back in October. they cut one of her nails so deep that she bled, I understand sometimes that happens but they didnt let us know of the incident. when my dog got home she was walking around and started bleeding. Luckily we knew how to handle that. Today my dog had to be taken back to the vets office because the night before she was lethargic, loss of appetite and not herself. Due to work, I was unable to be present while she was being examined. when i got home, I was informed that my dog had to have a $674 Xray, the "doctors/vet"and technician gave my boyfriend some vague explanation and tried to gauge more money out of us before giving us any answers. the only thing they could say is "wait until Tuesday when our specialist is here" my poor dog is unresponsive, in pain, cannot move and these horrible humans just sent her back home. she is now taking what seems to be her last breath... what type of human being, let alone a person who chooses to be a veterinarian, sends a sick animal back home without a temporary solution, without pain meds or without the suggestion of maybe having to put the dog down because shes obviously in pain and ill and might not make it until Tuesday. I hope these people get attacked by a pack of rabid racoons. when I called for an explanation the person who answered was useless, the doctors had already left but left no notes behind..? I spent almost $700 for some vague answer. I feel scammed and now Im at home watching my poor girl take her last breath. thanks Signal Pet Hospital.

I have hesitated to think that this veterinary clinic places profit over pets over the span of several visits I have made with sick pets there, but now have to place myself on the list of those who are very suspicious of the motives of the doctor we have seen at this hospital. Our last visit, with our sick cat, has made me decide to write this. We arrived with our nine-year-old pet, who hadnt eaten for over three days, but was drinking water, and the veterinarian had her assistant tell us, after a cursory examination, that the bill to re-hydrate her and do tests would come to almost $600.00. She (the veterinarian) didnt return to talk to us again that evening despite our subsequent questions. When we saw the estimate we tried to talk about what might be done to make the cost somewhat more affordable. We were told by a sympathetic staff member that the blood work could be done, and that a simpler form of re-hydration might be tried until the tests came in the next day. She then left to talk to the veterinarian, and we were subsequently told that nothing could be done if it wasnt done in the way that the veterinarian had outlined to us. We paid almost $150.00 for tests that we were told we would hear about the next day, and left. The day passed and nobody ever called us. When I called at 6:30PM that following day, I was told that the veterinarians had left for the day. I understand that costs are a part of caring for aging pets, but I dont understand the palatal atmosphere of callousness we felt both this time, and on previous occasions, at this very "for profit" clinic.

They treated my dog for something the DR never explained fungus is all he said. I was sold two weeks of antibiotics and went on my way. It seemed to work, but the brownish ear mess came back. I called to ask for more meds and the DR. said I need to schedule another appointment. I called two times to speak to the DR himself and he is always in a surgury? and never returned my calls, either of them? Im going to the bank tomorrow to reverse my CC for fraud. My dogs primary DR. should want my dog to get better? If I am being denied a continued perscription for the apparent fungus he tested in the office? He never did consult me about what was wrong with my dog, He just tried to upsell me a office ear cleaning, and water drops if he swims in the ocean, neither of which I needed or asked about?? they probably gave me low end medication to begin with knowing that I would come back.. just my opinion anyways. I will never step foot in that place again. My dog means too much to visit a DR that doesnt care for the wellness of animals. I give "0" stars
