Im a fairly new client at Alamo Vet with my cats, but know poeple who have been going there for years. I came here shortly after Dr. Natalie Rabiner left, but have heard so many wonderful things about her so was really looking forward to my vist. Now, I do know that so much has changed since the coorporation took over (and the reviews on here are quite scary!), but my visits (yes, plural) have really gone well! First off, yes some of the staff are young, but they have been very caring with me and my cats. It can be hard to find people that are so friendly, but so far everyone has been great. Im VERY picky about who my pets see, and can honestly recommend Dr. Barry Reed. He takes the time to actually LOOK AT my pets and even pet them. They love the attention :) But then agian, he can also be very efficient with time when needed, even while being thorough. There is also Dr. D, who is quite good as well, very caring. I personally prefer Dr. Reed but know others that like Dr. D. Whenever I come into this Vet office with my pets (which has been maybe 4 times since May, as I have taken them in seperately), the clients that I see seem to be happy with their service, and are often thanking the staff for their help. I know that some people have been upset by the change of a corportion taking over, but it looks to me like these staff members are trying to make it as comfortable as possible for everyone, and are doing a good job at it. My advice is to go and see for yourself what Alamo Vet is like, as thats what I did and I definitely dont regret it.

We had been going to Drs. Rabiner and Milburn for years to take care of our cat and 3 dogs. They were wonderful vets and we were surprised to hear that Dr. Rabiner had sold her practice. The first time we used them, we had taken our beagle in for a skin irritation (something that occurred 2 or 3 times a year). We had told the new vet that this was typical and that he should be able to look at the records and see. He he insisted it was fleas and not irritation and ended up trying to sell us a $150 flea treatment. When the nurse came in to ask us if we wanted the treatment we told her it wasnt fleas. She said that the doctor told her it was and we explained to her that he didnt even bother to comb him to verify it. Ultimately, it was the a skin irritation that was cured with a shot. We were able to track down Dr Milburn to a new practice in Thousand Oaks and have made the trip out there each time we need to take one of our dogs to a vet.

I am a totally overly protective doggy mom, and with my 7 month old puppy, Oliver, I have been especially challenged bringing him to the vet. BUT going to Alamo was amazing! I felt so supported and heard by the people that answered the phone and then the receptionist, and of course, Dr. Rabiner. Something really special that I experienced today was that everything they did with Oliver was done in front of me, with me helping and thus, making it easier for him. They never took him away from me, which has happened everywhere else Ive gone, and Dr. Rabiner spent over a half hour…or more! with us, explaining everything and we never felt rushed. I recommend them and am very grateful to have found them.

My niece worked here and QUIT because they are so so nice to your face up front BUT, in the back, thats a whole different story. How they treat you and your pet is sooo concerning then get you gone? Then LOOK OUT ! Its like night and day. No one protests because they will lose their job but DO NOT bring your pet here. One example? A little poodle needed a small operation and the female vet was in a bad mood and the vet had no mercy whatsoever then there was so much blood all over the place that my niece couldnt stand it anymore. Wonder why your pet shakes so much when you bring it in? They know.

Thanks Dr. Gill for your loving and professional care for our newest family member! We appreciate you and your staffs genuine concern for all our pets for the past 10 years. We have always felt like we have been treated as part of the Alamo Veterinary Clinic of Simi Valley family. Its so reassuring to know that we dont have to worry when we leave our dog for medical treatment or a boarding stay. Thank you so much!

I felt very comfortable bringing my cat, Luka, to this hospital. He had a few scabs on his head after I came back from vacation and they didnt go away after one week so I brought him here. They were very kind and caring. I received a follow-up call to make sure Luka was okay. We dont live in California anymore, but if were back visiting family, I would definitely return to this place if needed.

Dr. Rabiner and staff are truly angels from heaven. Compassion, warmth, friendliness just are not enough to describe what we experience when we bring our four-legged family members there. Its a shame I can only give them 5 stars. My gratitude knows no bounds.

The staff is very kind and outgoing. The Doctor is very thorough and patient. Kikey is very outgoing. She truly makes a difference in the office and provides reason to come back. People of her personality type make you want to come back. Thank you!
