I saw Dr Hanna after going to Simi Valley Vet Hospital. They told me on 2/14/14 my cat was not going to make it. I insisted in giving her meds as I have been down this scare tactic road before. Her labs were done in house on 2/14 and 2/17. After the Vet said she would not make it even if put in a hospital, her labs were retested 2/17 and came back almost fine. She also became more alert. She was eating and drinking. The vet wanted her to take more expensive meds for six weeks and take more testing for another $379.00. I already paid $580.00 on 2/14 and $179.00 2/17 and $71.00 a few days later for anti biotics she did not need. I am out almost $1000.00. Dr Hanna looked at her a week after and charged me $169.00 and today is 3/18 and she is like a kitten. He said she must have had something go through her system after seeing the other vets labs and said my cat was a happy, healthy cat. I spent more money there only for a second opinion. No high pressure sales to by more un needed meds or tests. Honest doctor, friendly staff. Being on SSI I have to pay down a credit card $1000.00 because I brought in a cat who was not very active at the time. Both labs were done in house there...fishy....the lab Dr Hanna took was sent out (included in the price) came back almost perfect. She is doing fine and out lived what the Simi Valley Vet Hosp said she would live. A ++ to Park Animal Hospital. I also got an email from the vets husband who owns the vet business. Not what I would expect in an email. There goes my SSI for a whole month. To Dr. Yoo, Dr, Hanna, and all the staff, on 6/28/2015 I brought in my 15 year old Calico as she appeared dehydrated. She had been before and I have given her subconscious IV fluids to keep her hydrated. She also was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism and was on medication for that. Taffy is her name and we had a different Vet as she was growing up with her siblings. On Feb 14, 2014, Taffy became dehydrated and the Vet she had closed his office without notice or warning. I took her to Simi Animal Hospital as a emergency as I did not know who else to take her to. After the Vet looked at her and took labs, she told me Taffys labs were off the scale and even if she put her into a hospital on a IV, she would not make it past the weekend. I doubted her since some labs are sent out and she did not appear to be as ill as this Vet said. I asked for antibiotics and I would put her on IV fluids at home. I was charged almost $1000.00 for that visit, then I realized she gave me a 5 day supply of antibiotics and I went back for a refill. She took more labs, gave me the antibiotics and another $400.00 charged. I felt suspicions being told she would not live 3 more days. Well she bounced back and was acting like a kitten in a week. She eat, drank, and played from Feb 14, 2014 to June 28, 2015. I felt ripped off at this animal hospital vet in Simi Valley and tried Dr. Hanna. After his exam, he said I had a healthy cat around late Feb 2014. She started getting dehydrated again in late June and I started her on fluids and took her to Dr. Yoo on 6/28/2015. She was not eating or drinking and could barley walk. Old age and her hyperthyroidism finally took a toll on her. Dr. Yoo took labs and said Taffy was dehydrated and very ill. She was never in ay pain but she was old and that evening around 11:00 pm she started to have labored breathing. I rushed her out to the Conejo Animal Hospital and they took her in the back while I waited in a room. Five minutes later the Vet doctor came out and said Taffys heart had stopped before she could put in a IV. I was devastated but knew inside time was near. Park Animal Hospital kept her alive for over 16 more months that we could enjoy her. She is now at Rainbow Bridge. I can only say no other Vet I have ever been to took and did what they could to extend Taffys life and I am so appreciated for this. This is the best place for your pet to go to. I wrote reviews before but I wanted to write this one thanking everyone there for trying and sending well wishes to me for the loss of Taffy.

Finding a really good vet isnt easy. We hadnt been happy with a Simi Valley veterinary clinic since Dr. Rabiner dropped her practice. Other places seem to have revolving staffs -- vets come and go, you never know who is going to be there when you need them, and they have no personal history with our cats and dogs. Even if you get lucky with a vet, that person may no longer work there the next time. So I decided to do some serious research, asking friends (which was of only limited value) and searching through reviews. There were so many favorable reviews on Dr. Hanna that I decided to try him out. I liked the idea that wed be dealing with the same vet all the time (although Dr. Baker has since joined him, and she is also very good). As a bonus, he was located close to us. Those reviews turned out to be right. Dr. Hanna knows his stuff, and he really takes the time with us as well our pets. He and his staff truly care, and pretty soon you feel more like youre part of their family than just a customer. Our 12-year old dog has advanced cancer, despite surgery two years ago by another vet. Dr. Hanna referred us to an oncology specialist, who basically said that it was untreatable. We know shes going to die soon, but we want to keep her around as long as we can and she isnt suffering. Shed have been dead two months ago without Dr. Hanna. Every five to seven days we bring her in to have him drain the built-up fluids out of her abdomen. He sits on the floor for half an hour, pumping out the liquid, while I also sit there with her and hold her. It doesnt really bother her, and she feels so much better after 3 liters of fluid have been pumped out. Its a great relief to have a veterinarian that you can trust, whos there for us when one of our pets needs attention, who you can call and usually get an appointment with the same day (sometimes within an hour or two). His charges seem quite reasonable -- much less than some vets Ive priced, and comparable to others who I have much less confidence in. My quest for a vet is definitely over, and I strongly recommend Park Animal Hospital to anyone else whos in search mode.

When I moved to Simi Valley 20+ years ago, it had a great small town feel. In some ways it still does, but as the city has grown, some of that character has become overshadowed with the addition of national retail chains and franchises. I found a great vet walking distance from my house. Locally owned and operated and a doctor was was accessible and compassionate. Unfortunately, that practice was bought out by a national veterinarian hospital conglomerate and, overnight, the service went downhill, the atmosphere became cold and sterile. When Id go there it was like going to my HMO doctor! So I had enough. I needed to find another vet. A friend recommended Park Animal Hospital and Dr. Hanna. And what a great recommendation. Im back in that comfort zone of having a locally owned and operated service with a doctor who knows my dogs and cats, and who spends the necessary time during appointments and beyond. Dr. Hanna will always go out of his way to be accessible and I really feel he cares about his "patients". The staff is always friendly and helpful. My dogs and cats are as healthy and happy as I am. And Simi Valley has some of that small town charm once again!
