Dr. Chong is an intelligent, highly professional vet who puts your pets care and well being first. Weve tried many vets in the greater LA / Ventura County area with our three dogs over nearly 14 years and located a few good ones - she is one of the best. The location and building arent fancy but the quality of care is outstanding and a very good value for the money. At different times our dogs have required surgery to remove bladder stones. With Dr. Chong, our dog recovered much more quickly and the procedure cost less. What sets her practice apart is that other vets, while professional and caring, often aim to identify and bill for as many line items and up sells as they can. You know, that same feeling you get at a car repair shop. Dr. Chongs practice provides the same products and services but runs like the home town clinic it is. For chronic conditions with our older pets she carefully explained a range of options and advised starting with treatments that were gentle to our pet so we could evaluate the response before more dramatic and expensive options. This place is our first choice for pet care.

Dr Chong is the most compassionate Vet we have ever been to. Because of our dogs anxiety to go into the vet, she treated our St Bernard in the back of our Yukon. She brought all her equipment to the car and sat in the back with our sweet dog. She called the next day (Sunday) with the test results and unfortunately, as we pretty much knew, she would have to be put down. But instead of us having to wait until Monday, she said to bring her down then (Sunday) and she would take care of it, so she wouldnt suffer any longer. Again, she sat in the back of our Yukon with us and took care of what needed to be done. She explained everything in detail and we could tell she felt as bad as we did. She kissed our sweet dog on the head and spoke so kindly to her - as if it were her own dog. She gave us the all time we needed to say our goodbyes. We were so grateful for her compassion and how humanely our Hilde was treated and taken care of. She even shaved some of her hair off and put it in a couple of small draw string bags for us to keep. We will be forever grateful to her and her staff .

Dr. Chong helped me with my 18 year old outdoor cat twords the end of her life so she could be comfortable the last few months(indoors). Unfortunately there isnt too much you can do for a cat that cant take pills or liquid, well there is but unfortunately the lovely DEA is now watching veterinary medicine as well. I was a head surgical veterinary tech for many years both private practice and emergency. The only one I can remember that was more fair was a Dr Frank Klimitas in New Orleans 18years ago, but he is retired. I often get asked by friends and family where to go and she is by far the most practical, honest and caring I have seen in many years. But if you are a snobby pet owner please go somewhere else!

Dr. Chong shows wonderful love and compassion for all the animals in her care. Our 5 (yes, FIVE) dogs loved her and greeted her with wagged tails. When it came time to putting our golden retriever, Maya, to sleep, she was a welcome and trusted friend, and stayed with us until we were ready to leave. I was a weepy mess, but she never hurried us or left our sides. She was saying goodbye to Maya too, in her own way. I will be forever grateful to her and her office staff. Ive visited Dr.Chong more than once, however the last visit was the most significant. I had to put down my Boxer named Buddy. After talking to her I felt like she really cared about Buddy and his quality of life. Her staff was professional and prompt with everything, which made the whole experience much easier. I recently bought a Labrador puppy and have already scheduled my shots appointment. Ive recommend her services to family, friends, and neighbors looking in the Ventura county area.

Update: The offices current hours are M-F: 8am-5pm. We took our puppy here this summer for his primary exam and first vaccines. Dr. Chong is so nice! Shes very sweet and really cares about our little guy. The two technicians also work in reception, and for doing several jobs at once, these ladies are usually very quick, but thorough. Sure, its not the most up-to-date office, but the people here cant be beat!

Only vet in Ventura county to go see, even if its a so called emergency. If your pet can make it the night make an appointment here. And if you need to have one of your best of friends sent to the rainbow bridge Dr Chong is the most supportive and caring person. She is the best. Dont waste your time going to anyone else.

If you are questioning whether or not you should bring your animals to Dr. Chong, dont. There is no one more caring and sincere. She is amazing. My chihuahua Zeus can be a terror. She handles him with such care and finesse, I honestly wouldnt trust anyone else. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

Dr Chong is the best. She is very caring and takes the time to really examine your pet and talk to the owner. She does the entire exam sitting on the floor because our dog doesnt do well on the metal exam table. I would recommend her highly. She also has Saturday hours which is a big plus.

We trust her to only do what is necessary at that moment. She could have charged us 2000. Or 1700. But she have our kitty antibiotics and he pulled through just fine. She is Honest. That is soooooo hard to find in a vet. Now days. Shes the real deal!!!!
