BEWARE!!!! I moved here about one year and my cat had a health concern so I brought him to valley vet and they grossly missed the problem. Not only that when I was explaining to the vet the problems she was not listening to me and I repeated myself at least 3 times. I came home told my husband and he said they are trained and know what there doing. Well the problem was still there so, I had then taken him to another Vet and they knew what the problem was right away they said it ws a very common problem. They said they see this in oldler cats all the time and it was very common. I then called valley Vet back telling them to refund my money. They vet called me back rude and nasty saying she tryed to call me but they number didnt work I ask her what number was they had and in fact it was the correct number. The vet was extremly rude and about after a 30min phone conversation she then said she would refund money. A month later I called because no credit was issued and they would not return my calls. I made a dispute with my credit card company and only got credited back $53.00 instead of the full amout the vet said she would refund $119.00. Because of there gross neglect I paided over $1600.00 dollars in vet bill when it would have only cost about $150.00 if it had been treated correctly the first time. BEWARE

We went in for a free follow up visit after they had treated some wounds, the up-selling started the minute we met with the "doctor" he felt more like a used car salesman than a doctor and not a very good used car salesman. Our free follow up ended up costing more than the original treatment and from what I can tell was completely unnecessary. The kicker was that while they were wrestling with our dog they asked us to leave, in fact walked us out really quickly, then returned a few minutes later saying that "he reopened his wounds and needs to be sedated.....or he will just bleed in your car" they never were able to explain why he needed to be sedated for tearing off scabs. I asked directly "why did he need to be sedated and stay here for several hours?" they did not even respond just asked me for the payment. They attempted to schedule another free follow up but I said no. I checked his wounds when we got to the car to see how bad he had been re-injured there were no freshly reopened wounds they only difference was they put some salve on them. The most telling thing is that our dog who usually loves going to the vet and doesnt want to leave because of the people and other animals made a beeline for the door and our car and has been glued to our side seeking comfort ever since.

Dont trust the positive reviews. I am new to the area and went here based on the reviews. Once I arrived I knew I was in trouble! In every room they have the walls plastered with advertising stating you a discount and money back if you write a review on yelp and google. Once they did the preliminary exam, they then tried to charge me $1000 for service but if I signed up for their club for a Few hundred then I would get 30-50% discount on their services. Well even after that discount, it still is more expensive than any other vet. For example - the medicine I needed to buy, they wanted $82 but I went and bought the same Meds at another vet for $30. The ear swab they charged me $69 for in addition to a $20 fee for nurse assistance and then an additional $67 to flush the ear. At vencina vet a ear swab costs only $35 and a cleanse is $25! And why did I pay for a nurse assistance when the DR didnt even do it. The nurse did it by herself and it took less than 3 min! Consider yourselves warned! Shady shady business!

Not sure about the 1 star review earlier... I bought two baby turtles from Chinatown not realizing what is involved in raising these little creatures. One of them looked sick and lethargic while the other one seemed to have skin problems. I called around and this hospital seemed to offered reasonable price (*much* more affordable then the vet in berkeley). So I brougt them there. They didnt make me buy meds or any unneeded gimmicks, just nice service that would make me return again. Dr. Aengus helped my turtles. Both the Dr and the Reception Admin person were both very professional and helpful. Give me tips on how to best treat them. Thumbs up!

We have been going to Valley Vet for 11 years now, with different numbers of kitties. They have been with us all the way, from welcoming little cats into our life through to saying goodbye. It is easy to get an appointment. The standard of care, from simple check-ups to procedures is first class. They are particularly good at feline dental. They sell a wide range of veterinarian-approved food, wet and dry. Their front office is friendly and welcoming. Every single doctor over this 11 years has been first class, as well as loving. We are moving soon to Martinez and we still intend to stay with Valley Vet; that is how highly we think of them.

I have been with Valley Vet for for 8 years now. I currently take 2 dogs there. The first time I went there it was for my German Shepard for an emergency surgery. After they saved her life I decided I would be loyal to them. They have never let me down. I had gone to another vet once due to it being closer to my house, but returned back to Valley after that. The doctors are knowledgeable and the front desk is very kind.

Betty Conrad took two of her dogs in for their annual exam by Dr. Campbell. They were seen at the appointed time. Physical exams were very thorough; titers were done for parvo & distemper & blood drawn for the heart worm test. Betty has been taking her dogs to Valley Veterinary Hospital since 1977. The care and treatment has always been excellent and, if a specialist is needed, Valley Vet makes all the arrangements.

Valley Vet has always given us excellent, loving service. We have had our dog with Valley Vet since she was a puppy and 8 years later we are still delighted. When I had a sleeping baby in my car and needed the staff to help me get our dog into the clinic to be examined, they came and took Mattie from my car and took care of everything. They are number one in my book! Carrie Quintal

My latest experience with my elderly dog at Valley Vet Hospital was a positive experience. The doctor was thorough in her examinations and tests, and took time to fully describe the results and answer my questions. She explained the options going forward, and did not pressure me to choose the more expensive treatments. Ill continue taking my little dog there.

I have been client of this clinic for the last 8 years. Usually great customer service and short waiting time, however when it comes to more serious treatments my advice is to go ahead and look for specialists. Inaccurate medical charts and recommendation, faulty diagnosis which are profit oriented.
