I would rate the overall experience as 7 out of 10. Just had a baby delivery here few days ago. Here is my experience; -- Free self and valet parking. Some times you will be parking far and have to walk a little bit. -- Free Wifi internet access through out the hospital; at least for the patient and the staying guest. -- Staying guest are allowed to get 1 free meal but not allowed to do special request like vegan or vegetarian meal which is really not right. -- 4 out of 10 equipments (beds, bio hazard trash can, electric buttons, etc.) will either not work or will work partially. I was denied when asked for the trash can to be changed. -- There are 2 types of nurses and staff worked here; 1) Extremely nice and friendly 2) Extremely moody with big attitude problem. Some of them have even created their own rules to enforce on the patient and their guest. -- Two guests are allowed during bedside labor. Thats what I was told at first. However, you are not allowed to switch with someone new even though there will be still only 2 person inside. I was not told about this. Basically, the first 2 person who enters with the patient inside will be a fixed nomination till the baby is born no matter what. I was told by my nurse that this is hospital policy. I found this very weird and unacceptable. -- Make sure to eat and drink. Once admit you will not allowed to eat or drink anything until baby is born no matter how long the labor will last. Also, you will not allowed to go to the restroom for # 2. Make a special note of this! -- Hospital doesnt give any free baby gift when discharge. Not a single diapers or formula pack! I thought free car seat is standard every where but we were told to pay $20 if we need one! For the other stuff we had to beg for it from our nurse Sylvia even though we had a coupon for it. Also, the same nurse give only 1 small packet of Lanolin cream and told us that the hospital policy is 1 per patient as a reason even though the nurse earlier gave us 5 packets without even us asking for it. I asked for the pacifier and was told the same thing of 1 per patient! Like I said earlier, some nurses have made up their own policies depending upon their mood! -- Outside food and drinks are permitted for patient and/or inside the patient room. -- Hospital cafeteria is big, clean, and cheap, however, it is located very far from where the patient is. -- Hospital should provide microwave oven and water fountain/cooler inside the patient room or at least on each floor so outside or leftover food can be warmed when ever needed. Right now you either need to do a long walk to the cafeteria or ask the front desk staff to do it which depend upon the mood of that staff to do it in a nicer way or vice versa. -- Our recovery room was very small and congested. I did see few empty bigger rooms and did ask for the change but was denied. I was told that rooms are assigned already. However, for the next day they were still empty! -- Dr. Peter Roca was our delivery doctor and I found him as one the best Ob/Gyn. Extremely friendly, professional and very nice. I would definitely recommend and look for him next time also. -- There is this anesthesiologist Dr. Henry Cola who think he is from out of this world. Very mean and unfriendly and has no respect to the patient or their guest. I must mentioned here that his work is excellent but again his bed side manners are really bad. According to one of the nurses, he has been written up several times but I guess he still does not learn his lesson. I have already complained about him with the hospital -- Next time i would definitely consider some other places if given choices.

My wifes 88 year old mom was ordered by her assisted living facility to go to ER because Potassium levels were considered high (6.4). They arrived at 4pm on 4/25/2017. Initial trauma visit took about 20 minutes for BP and vitals. Mom explained she felt fine, no problems other than BP was higher than normal due to Whittier Glen taking her off of LIsinopril for a few days. Sent back to ER lobby. After finally talking to my wife at 8pm and finding out they still hadn’t seen a doctor. I told my wife I was coming to pick them up. When I showed up to advise we were leaving at 8:45pm, they advised they would send out the charge nurse, Lara, who informed that they had a six hour wait average going on. They said Mom was second in line, and that we might as well stay. We waited for 5-10 minutes, I then told them were taking her home, she has no symptoms and is only there because her potassium levels were high. The charge nurse said "We wont call you with the results." I said "Really?" and we started to get Mom up at 9pm to leave. Amazingly, her name was miraculously called right at that moment. After a 20-30 min once in the ER, the supposed ER doctor finally comes in-and takes about TWO minutes to tell us that theres nothing wrong with her and that her potassium levels are 4.6 (within acceptable range) and we can go home. OTHER ISSUE: I tried calling from home and they would not provide any Doctors name, so that we could call in the next day to get the results. This hospital will hold you hostage. Obviously severely understaffed. (DONT BELIEVE THEIR WEBSITE WHICH SAYS 3 hr 48 min average!! which is over an hour longer than the national average wait to be seen and sent home.) Total time: 5 hrs 45 minutes in this crowded ER for an 88 year old!! They refused to even say if had the capability to perform dialysis for kidney failure (which is what they were suspecting!) My wife described the doctor as a foreigner with a beard; she does not believe he even had a lab coat on. We suspect she was not even seen by a Doctor! No attending doctor is noted on ANY paperwork that my wife was given. The name of this ER doctors firm appears to be ExitCare, LLC. 5 1/2 HOURS to get potassium level test results from their LAB! We will be filing a complaint. HORRIBLE!!

Took my 68 yr old uncle in this morning around 1030 am. Everything was going good at first. Triage and blood work was done in 30 mins but once we were in our room, everything went downhill fast. The dr. was awesome it was R.N. Santiago that was horrible. He was to busy flirting with the nurses and talking about the trip he wants to take to Cuba to properly care for my uncle. At around 330 pm, my uncle had only received 1 IV bag and a shot of ativan. Santiago never offered my uncle any food or water, even though he had no food restrictions order from the dr. My mom and I finally went to the cafeteria and bought food for him. My mom kept pushing the button asking if we were done bc his IV was finished over 1 hr ago. He said with so much sarcasm "isnt that our goal? To get him home" obviously!! U moron! My mom asked repeatedly can we leave to anybody in scrubs bc he wasnt being properly monitored and we wanted to go somewhere else. He would disappear anytime we asked for something. I finally told my mom to record him in the hallways flirting and talking about vacay s. Idk if u ask me if think this would not of been a bad experience if we had a different nurse bc everything was going well until he came on.
