I went to this doctor because of the reviews I read on the website. I got great service there and was treated very nicely. I came from the medical center on Fort Carson and when I called the front desk before I set my appointment, I asked the receptionist if they took Tricare. She stated that yes, they did. I asked her if Tricare would cover my appointment there and she told me yes. I asked her if I would have to pay anything for going there if I had Tricare and she stated no, I would not. So, I made my appointment. Thirty days later I get a bill for 200$. I called the office and spoke to the accounting manager and told her that the lady at the front desk when I made my appointment told me that Tricare was going to cover this. Ive had plenty of appointments with outside doctors before and Tricare always covered all of it. The lady then informed me that I had a $300 deductible that the lady at the front supposedly told me about. She never did. I then told her that I would have never made the appointment had I known I was going to have to pay out of pocket because I cant afford that and could just go on base. I told her I felt like I had been misled. She said that all of the staff knows about the $300 deductible and that I should have known too. I told her there was no way that I was going to pay this because the initial person I talked to had me under the impression that Tricare would cover my entire visit and that I would have never made the appointment if I would have known that I had to pay out of pocket. Dr. J then wrote off the payment for me and the lady called me back. I told her that if I had known that I would have had to pay, I could have put aside money for it because I liked the service, I just cant financially handle $200 surprises, especially when I had been led to believe I wouldnt have to pay. I told her that I would like to continue seeing Dr. J but that I would like to know up front how much I would have to pay. She then told me that they do not want to see me anymore at that clinic and that I would not find another doctor who would prescribe me the medicine I need. This is no way to treat the military community. This was not my fault. I was misinformed by the staff there, then turned away when I could not afford the fee they charged me. You cant assume that your patients know the red-tape behind insurance claims and fee structure and to then tell the patient that they wont have to pay THEN send them a bill for 200$. I think what upset me the most is when they told me that "the doctor probably wont want to see you anymore and no one here prescribes the medicine you need". Just bad business all around. I dont mind paying for a service, I just dont like being misled then having a surprise bill come into my house. I cant afford surprises like that in this economy.

I saw the reviews in regards to this doctor though great a doctor that puts patients first and I got excited I sent a contact email in to describe my situation. I have a thyroid disorder. I found it out due to not habit changes and I gainded 50lbs in two months. I have been on medication for over a year sitll have bouts of swelling and fatuige and I am unable to lose wieght. I recived a reply back telling me that I was not doing enough and that my thyroid is not a magic fix for weight loss. I had expalined my calorie intake and my workout scheduale and I was told that without any testing for tyroid function that I simply was not doing enough to cause weight loss. I feel this is due to my job loss and the fact that I am now on medicaid versus private insurance. This doctor is clearly monitary focused and not in the midset of helping people. I do not recomend this doctor in anyway as he is willing to make a diagnosis without any kind of of actual visit or testing.

I have been a patient for 10yrs. and cant say enough about Dr. J. He has alot of knowledge, listens, very patient, understanding, and will go out of his way to make sure he is getting to the root of the problem. I have referred many people to him and they all too have been highly satisfied. The staff is professional and very kind. Dr. J is the best doctor I have ever been to and spends time listening to you. He also looks into the natural approach if your looking for that as well. Wonderful Doctor and Staff, highly recommended! Ashley

He is by far the most compassionate and caring doctor I have ever seen.
