An employee was taken to Concentra ER Downtown on June 10, 2010. After waiting for two hours for a tetanus shot, she was discharged--without the tetanus shot! Instead, they just cleaned the wound and told her to go. Before leaving the hospital, she requested the shot (again) and finally received it. But more concerning than this cluelessness was how the medical staff, including an ER physician, "treated" a young mother seeking help for her young daughter (about 3 years old). The young girl was conscious, but didnt have the strength to sit up unassisted. The mother was cradling her daughter in her arms, and something was very wrong with this little girl. The girl was visibly "out of it," and her mother was justifiably distraught about her daughters unknown condition. After waiting for about 45 minutes with no care or attention, this frantic mother was informed by Concentra staff that her insurance was not acceptable and she would have to go to Childrens Hospital for her daughters unknown (perhaps life-threatening?) condition. Concentras cavalier attitude about this young girls condition was unbelievable. It made me think of the recent videotaped death of a woman in an ER while waiting to be treated. It was obvious that Concentra had zero interest in this little girls health and well-being. If you or a loved one need emergency medical attention, you may want to consider another hospital. Rating is one star only because system will not accept "no stars."

My wife went here and was dangerously misdiagnosed. She was told the severe pain in her abdomen had to be a combination of back pain and an STD. (What she really had was two huge blood clots due to endometriosis. We had to have a very scary emergency surgery a couple weeks later. Thankfully she is ok.) So I go in because I want to get checked for the STD they claim she must have. We leave and of course the tests come back negative a couple days later. This is in October. Fast forward to today. We had just moved recently and I get blasted with bills last week. I find out that I am being charged an outrageous amount because Concentra didnt even bother to file the insurance claim. After 6 calls back and forth between Concentra and my insurance provider I am finally told by Concentra that they didnt get through to my insurance, didnt follow up, and now I have to pay the bill in full. I received no calls or emails from them. (Except to tell me my results were negative) I was already upset for my wifes sake. Getting wrongfully charged due to negligence was icing on top for me. Overall, we both felt disrespected, exasperated, and duped. In my opinion the quality of womens health at this facility is abysmal. I wouldnt recommend it to my worst enemy. tl dr: My wife was brushed off. The misdiagnosis was dangerous and lazy. I ended up getting charged the wrong amount and got blamed for it.

I have never given a review anywhere before, let alone a negative one, but I honestly had such a terrible experience here today that I felt it was necessary to warn other people. The front desk ladies are very sweet and kind and unfortunately they are the only redeeming part of this clinic. The PA that came to help me (Craig, I believe) was really unfriendly and awkward and spent the entire time literally lecturing me on how America is in shambles because of our "addiction" to antibiotics. He began by not actually telling or even estimating what could be wrong with me, in fact I ended with me self-diagnosing because he apparently had no idea what was wrong. Unfortunately I made the mistake of taking time off of work for this appointment and missed meetings to be there. He was incredibly demeaning and said things like, "Do you think youre making the right choice by taking antibiotics?" (and when i said, "I just need to get this solved so I can get back to work" he didnt respond and just sighed, shook his head at me and turned to leave the room)...and "See thats exactly what is wrong with America"... and too many more to list. Its fine to have a personal opinion, and even to respectfully share it, but as a doctor your job is far from demeaning or lecturing your patient, especially in a facility that is for urgent care...Location may be convenient but stay away from this place.

I started going to the Concentra on Blake St. on June 17th because I fell at work and hurt my back. The staff here is super friendly and really listen to you. I am not one who wants a quick fix with pain killers. Dr. Ron (Rasis) listened to my concerns and prescribed PT 3 times a week with Christi Galindo, PT, instead of just trying to give me pain killers and sending me on my way (which is what many doctors do now-a-days). Christi is an angel. She is super patient, kind, a good listener, understanding, and is good at showing you how to do something correctly. After a month and a half of hard work, Im finally graduating regular PT and am starting my intense PT next week with a new staff at a different location. I can not express enough my gratitude to the Blake St staff. Seeing as I havent been able to work and get around much Christi, Erica, Dr. Ron, and even Brady (a PT student) have become like family to me and Im going to miss seeing them! Thank you SO much for helping me through my recovery! I also would like to mention Concentra has everything! Physicians, physical therapists, massage therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists... I have also just started seening Dr. Aspegren (chiropractor/acupuncturist-different location), who is also very kind and seems to be doing a great job so far!

Nothing but positive things to say about this office. I was concerned going to visit them after negative reviews and a very negative experience at a competing agency. I have been referred there twice for two unrelated workers comp injuries. Through the several months I worked with the Physicians Assistants and physical therapists I felt well cared for and as though they were an integral part of my recovery. I can not speak on the emergency visit abilities of this facility but the PAs were thorough and honest and the Physical therapist was top notch, and that is coming from someone that is not stranger to sports injuries and rehabilitation. They are prety busy so expect to spend a little time waiting, though I never felt it was unreasonable.

I have amazing health insurance with my company and only have a $15 deductible, even at urgent care facilities, when it isnt my primary care provider. The staff at the Blake street location were extremely rude and billed me the complete amount ($120) and wouldnt call my insurance company. I called my insurance company and spoke to three different representatives who all said I was only supposed to pay $15 and they werent sure what the issue was and why I would have had to pay any more than that. Long story short Ive called them on multiple occasions and now I have to submit a reimbursement form as they couldnt follow proper protocal. I would never recommend going here, even if it is convenient.

This place is like the fast food of healthcare. The employees are slow and rude and unprofessional. The doctors I saw were rushed in and out of my room and did not read my chart. I was there for a workers comp injury and spent about 2 months in PT and various doctor visits. Each time I had to go I dreaded it. But the PT was fantastic! Christi was my therapist and she made me feel great. She had great exercises for and knew her stuff. For the rest of the staff, I have nothing good to say. Its seems to be full of tattooed Concord Career College grads that never learned how to act professional.
