My children have been patients of Dr. Reed for 2 years now and have really liked him. Unfortunately, my 11 year old daughter had to have one of her baby teeth pulled to make room for the adult one. Dr. Reed had pulled 2 of her other baby teeth in the past without any pain or discomfort. Unfortunately Dr. Reed was out of the office and we saw Dr. Pearson for the extraction. While Dr. Pearson was extracting my daughters tooth I saw his hand slip and her bottom jaw was jarred. Later that night my daughter was experiencing extreme pain. The pain along her jaw and gums continued for the next day and by day 3 her gums, tongue and throat were so swollen she was having difficulty swallowing her own saliva, could barely open her mouth and was not able to stick out her tongue all the way. I phoned the emergency line and it was Dr. Reed who was on call. He was very friendly and concerned and immediately prescribed her antibiotics and got her an appointment to see him the next day. Instead of seeing Dr. Reed the following day Dr. Pearson came in our room instead. He immediately was defensive! Starting off by saying it was a routine procedure and there shouldnt be any discomfort. He quickly examined her and told us that her salivary gland was clogged and it wasnt a dental problem, that it was strep throat and we should go to our PCP. I took her to the pediatrician who quickly ruled out any strep throat or salivary gland issue and advised is to go get another opinion from Dr. Reed. She was taken back again the following day and this time Dr. Reed examined her and said she had a reaction to the needle and numbing medicine. When I asked Dr. Reed if the fact that Dr. Pearsons hand had slipped and jarred her jaw during the tooth extraction could have caused all this he said no! So I took her for another opinion with a pediatric dentist outside the City Center Dental Group. This dentist confirmed that all the pain, swelling and infection she had been experiencing for 7 days now was directly caused by trauma. He couldnt believe the amount of trauma to her gums, floor of her mouth and tongue that still remained 7 days after the procedure! He confirmed that Dr. Pearson actually ripped her bottom gums while extracting the tooth. This dentist took x-rays and said that the tooth should have been extremely easy to extract because the adult tooth was right underneath and the baby tooth had barely any root left. What is so upsetting to me is how I was told different reasons for all the discomfort she was having. Dr. Pearson didnt admit to causing all the trauma to her mouth and lied saying it was due to strep throat and a clogged salivary gland. He is incredibly dishonest!!! I will never go back to this office again! And please if you have children do not take them there to have teeth extracted by Dr. Pearson!!! I have never seen my little girl in so much pain! Pain that Dr. Pearson caused and then lied and tried to cover up!! If he had owned up to it and told us about the trauma and apologized and tried to take care of her and make her more comfortable I could understand. But to lie and send us to the pediatrician and go through days of miserable pain... what kind of a human being does that to a child!

I have never written a review of a company before - until I was treated with incredible disrespect today. If I could rate Hygienists alone at City Center Dental Group (or in-particular one hygienist) I would give this place Five stars. Please also dismiss the one star I would rate them in the negative if that were possible. Unfortunately after dealing with the disrespectful Practice Manager who only cares about money or as she put it "running a business" I will never be go back, and I would personally suggest anyone else considering going here to think twice. Not only was I belittled and talked to like I was a twelve year-old because I am a younger client I was flat out accused of lying - talk about exceptional customer service. I had no idea I owed them money from a previous visit as I was told it would be taken care of by my insurance during and once after when I called to follow-up about it - I received no bills and only one notice (that was sent to me only after they sent me to collections). I have never been sent to collections before so I immediately called to apologize to the dentist office itself, they told me not to worry, that it happens and to go ahead and come in for my appointment, however this turned out to be incorrect information. I had the payment taken care of within 72 hours (My HSA account had some issues and so, it took awhile for it to process.) However because the payment was not processed at the time of my visit (which was 8AM on a Monday before banks open) I was taken into the Managers (Linda Gonzalez) office and interrogated about why I would even show up if I hadnt been paid and "how did i except to be seen by them when I cant even pay my bill" I understand the need of payment but there are several other ways to explain something to a customer. When I told her my work phone number to call and verify that we had in fact had issues with our HSA cards she accused me of giving her a falsified number because it wasnt ringing through - when in fact it was their phone system having the issue and not working, but of course even when she discovered this there was no apology given by Linda. Nor was there in consideration given to me and as a customer, I at least expect a little respect even in a uncomfortable situation. Needless to say I left the office in tears, which is amazing considering it takes a lot to make this girl cry; I will never look back. It is truly a shame that some people have no concept of true customer service. I can only hope City Center Dental group realizes the key to success isnt just about money (seems to be a common theme in many of these unhappy posts) and learns the only true way to retain customers is by showing them a little respect and compassion. - I will be sure to share my experience whenever possible to make sure this never happens to anyone again.

This office has seriously degraded in the last few years. The atmosphere of the office seems poor to me and it seems that I was pushed toward excessive services that I didnt need. The worst issue for me is that the administrative staff is generally unfriendly and confused and seems to lack proper management. On one visit they kept me waiting in the chair for 45 minutes because they couldnt figure out how to verify my insurance. I had to give them the telephone number and explain to them what to do. This is after going to this office for 4-5 years as a patient and giving them the same information over the telephone. I have insurance with one of the largest dental insurers in the country...military Tricare. My appointments have always started late and that seems to be perfectly acceptable to them. On several occasions I had to check to make sure they knew I was still there. The cherry on top for me is that I was furloughed during the government shutdown and needed to cancel my appointment which was 7 hours later. I was immediately told by the receptionist that I would be charged $35 for a cancelled appointment. She was argumentative and rude which didnt help me out at all on a horrible day. I was offered an appointment 5 hours later and the receptionist was indignant when I didnt accept this. I dont think these people know whats important or how to treat patients well. Be careful in this office and make sure you read the fine print. Ive been to much better dental offices and I will not be returning to this one.
