Scheduled a tooth extraction for all 4 of my wisdom teeth that were all Impacted. I was imediately told that "no dental insurance covers anesthesia and I would have to pay $900 for this service." I have an excellent dental plan with United and asked Dental Elements to send a pre-approval in to my issurance to see how much they would cover for the procedure. (This was 2 months prior to the extraction.) My pre-approval comes back and guess what... the only thing not included on the original pre-approval, was the anesthesia! It was unbeivable! I called Dental Elements and asked why this was not submitted and the woman on the phone responded that "insurance noramally doesnt cover anesthesia." At this point I was obviously upset. I informed her that was the entire point of submitting the pre-approval for the procedure. She informed me that they would submit it again to check. This happened 1 month prior to my procedure. After 2 weeks I called Dental Elements to see if any progress had been made as I had zero confidence in their administrative ability. The woman who answered said that she tried to call once last week and was on hold for more than 2 hours so she hung up and never tried again. I immediately hung up and called my insurance provider and they stated that under my policy they will cover 90% of my anesthesia. I called Dental Elements back and informed them of my discovery and asked that this issue be resoloved as my extraction was now 1 week away. They comforted me by saying they will just bill me based on this new information and submitt everything to insurrance and everything will be fine. (The total for this should have been $200-300) And this is where it really begins... The following week I go in to get 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed and leave the operation with no gause or anything... I was bleeding all over myself and my girlfriends car on the way home. A few days later when I am able enough to start functioning, I check my online banking and Dental Elements has charged my credit card over $1200. The procedure was supposed to cost me a couple hundred after everything I had discovered. I spent the next couple days in bed calling Dental Elements trying to remedy the situation. I was given multiple excuses such as: the business manager is gone, I wasnt invloved with this issue, I dont know what to do, etc. The business manager called me back on the 4th day and said she would look into it. At this point I was furious and informed her that I was calling Visa and canceling the charge due to fraud. The next day I received a credit to my card of several hundred dollars. I was upset but I would have never wrote this review if this all ended here. My procedure happened in January and it is now July. I received a call from Dental Elements during the first week of July and they informed me that they have an unpaid balence on my account, close to what they credited me after the procedure. This is unbeiliveable. He was going to run the balence on my card that they have on file. Here I am again 6 months later dealing with Dental Elements. I do not have time to deal with this situation anymore. I plan on paying the balence and NEVER returning to Dental Elements again. This is a great example of utter incompetence. DO NOT GO HERE!

Tess, I cant agree with much of what youve said about Dental Elements. It sounds like you are used to a family dentist that went about things in a different manner. While communication is reassuring throughout these processes, I trust that Dental Elements is capable and qualified to do a thorough job at dentistry. And Michael is a certified badass, dont ever doubt him again. While I do agree that Ive had times where it would be nice to have more information, all it takes is being an adult and asking the question. Your nail-biting and "driven to tears" experience actually made me laugh aloud in my office. Allow me to list off the many reasons why Dental Elements is far more awesome than every other dentist any of you have ever been to. So, I just left Dental Elements about 3 hours ago. I have told them countless times that they have achieved what no other dentist office has ever achieved.....making a trip to the dentist fun! From the time that you are greeted by the warm and welcoming personality of the receptionist (Nancy), you know that youre in good hands. Not only does the office look like a SoHo Loft inside, but normally there is some form of dance music or energetic beat in the background. I cant say Id care much for dubstep (I’ve never heard something like this playing there and feel that it was the fault of Pandora Radio, rather than a choice they personally made…they have better taste than that), but the dance music is awesome in comparison to the elevator music or 90s adult-contemporary that is normally playing at other places. I love Phil Collins, but there is a time and a place for “Groovy Kinda Love” and it’s not when you’re getting a root canal. In addition to the great music selection, they always offer for you to watch a number of TV shows on a flatscreen that hovers over your head as you are worked on. Honestly, youll have to remind yourself that you have people fiddling with your mouth. Michael is hilarious and does a great job at taking an experience that would normally be sterile and making it fun. Dr. Thurman and all of the staff are always full of knowledge and advice to give you to ensure that youre prepared to be a better tooth hygiene advocate once you walk out their door. They have clearly found a way to take dental work to the next level. The customer service is great and the atmosphere is far beyond what one would expect to experience in any other dentist office. Keep it up guys!

Root canal and crown procedures, June 20, 2017. Have you ever longed for an above average dentist who knows how to take care of the vast majority of your dental needs, and truely cares about you? A dentist who doesnt want you to ALWAYS have to take time off from work to see him? A dentist who doesnt have you running all over town from one specialist to another because he is capable of doing many procedures himself? And on top of all this, is a really nice person? Well then settle down and make Dr. David Thurman your go to dentist. Just like I did, and will continue to do. Also please know his staff is also right up there in quality. And like a cherry on top, you wont have to beg for an appointment that is convenient for you, the scheduler will do everything possible to accommodate you. Cost?, Well youll still be able to make your mortgage payments so you get my point. And dont overlook that Dental Elements location is just a short distance from Denvers Union Station. My previous reviews: This was my first visit to Dental Elements, the purpose being to have a consultation with Dr. David R. Thurman. Several years ago I had extensive dental work done in another state, and now having moved to Denver I need a dentist qualified to help me keep my mouth in good health. After spending considerable time discussing my dental history with Dr. Thurman I feel confident he is capable of providing me with high quality care. There are several dentists in my area, and I had planned to interview at least four. Dr. Thurman was the second dentist I met with, and I do not feel a need to speak to anyone else. In addition to his qualifications and experience, Dr. Thurman is a very engaging person, open to questions about his level of expertise and dental philosophy, and very pleasant. For me, in addition to dental qualifications, these are very important qualities in a dentist, and a must have. My second appointment was on February 28, 2017. My experience was just as pleasant and effective as my first appointment. Im very pleased with the dental service I have received to date, and very comfortable in recommending this practice.
