Very uneven level of service. As an adult with ADHD, I can honestly say that throughout the 15+ years since being diagnosed, Ive received much better treatment from physicians in the private sector. The Jefferson Center for Mental Health doesnt take attention deficit disorder seriously, nor does it understand the people who genuinely suffer from it. Back in 2013, I had to wait an entire year to be seen because Dr. Lackey kept cancelling my appointments due to office meetings. Needless to say, I didnt get much accomplished that year! In fact, I lost my car and my apartment. Finally, JCMH brought in other providers to assist, including an excellent M.D. from a surprising source - the Jefferson County Jail. For awhile, my ADHD was treated properly. Unfortunately, good healthcare providers dont stay at this place for very long, and being switched to yet another new person has disrupted my life to the point where I must marshall my limited resources and do whatever I can to find treatment for my condition in the private sector. Relying on the Jefferson Center is a mistake - this place is not a reliable source for treatment.

Our family has had wonderful support and services from JCMH. We have dealt with several Mental Health Centers and feel very fortunate that we have found the resources and staff available through JCMH.

Thank God for Jefferson Center. I would not be alive today if it werent for them and their affordable mental health support. If anyone reading this is suicidal, call them immediately!
