Well, my mother had a live in care-giver and she "seemed" so nice and friendly. She was reliable, but after a few months, my mother began calling me every morning, whispering into the phone due to the baby-monitors prohibiting her from having a private conversation to tell about her treatment. I arrived after one of these calls as she was having dry heaves and not eating or drinking, She was walking with a walker fine on this day. I encouraged her to keep trying to drink to stay hydrated. The next monday, 2 days later, she showed me a huge rash that went from her entire stomach all the way to her back. I asked the woman how long this had been there, She said 10 days. I asked why she did not call her doctor or report to "KARIN" @ Angelic Nursing. She said she had a doctor appointment in 3 more days and her husband was going to help out so he could also GET PAID. Why the wait when she was clearly DEHYDRATED and awake all night screaming in pain?? This was told to me by the woman caring for her. She called my cousin who is POWER OF ATTORNEY, and she did not listen to me either! I have no say apparently even though she is my mother. Finally, she sees the doctor on thursday, and they take her home. He did take blood, The next day, he called my cousin (P.O.A.) not the daughter, saying to admit her to the hospital as she was dehydrated and had SHINGLES, which is very painful! So, she suffered for 12 days with shingles and for 4 days I kept saying she needs to get to the HOSPITAL! I reported this to "KARIN", @ Angelic, and she said she wanted to here the other side of the story. Well, my power hungry cousin, faxed her POWER OF ATTORNEY making me no longer to decide if we should get someone new. They took no action against the employee and my cousin is allowing her to return to the home after she gets out of a nursing home. POWER OF ATTORNEYS just care about $$$, not about the well being of the person. The agency turned their backs to this horrible judgement call, and they are very glad my cousin stepped in, so she could keep her job. I liked her to begin with. We got along well, but my mother kept saying she wanted her fired, she was covered in bruises, and my cousin, LINDA, is not even listening to my mother, who wanted someone not so rough and unsympathetic to the pain of shingles, and her SEVERELY dehydrated condition. IF YOU EVER hire a caregiver, stop in unannounced and stay for a few hours, that is what I did. Also, turn off the baby monitors so your family member can tell you what is going on without feeling intimidated. Neglect and abuse happened, and the agency swept the whole incident under the carpet. That is why I am posting this. Its all I have to alert and teach others that this is the norm~

Our family used Angelic Nursing and Home Care for 2+ years. All that time we had 24 hour live-in aides who were caring and professional. Never once did we consider changing agencies. The owner was always available and in my experience, communications were excellent. I suggest to anyone needing home care - visit the agency first and meet with the owner, as I did when I was first in need of help. The bottom line is that I was very happy with the service they provided.

I might add some things are out of the agencies control which is understandable it is all about how the situation is handled that is what sets Angelic apart from the rest! The BEST!
