I dont know whos providing these reviews, but my guess is- not new patients. I moved to DC a few months go, Dr Lamoth was the first Dr I had seen since I moved to the DC area. I looked at reviews and articles and finally picked Dr Lamoth because my insurance labeled him a provider and from everything I read, he was one of the better Drs in the DC area. Due to family medical history I take every precaution with my eyes. Dr Lamoth was made aware of this. First Dr. Lamoth rushed in, before I had time to go over basic information with his staffers, made them leave and hastily started the exam. quickly performed an exam which took roughly five minutes. He then tells me that I can be dilated and I should while Im here lets just do it, sensing he is flustered and rushed I say, " if it works better for you to have it done another time, Im good with that." He wants to proceed with the dilation; my insurance covers it, he says. Well after a few short minutes, and nowhere near dilation, he comes in and speedily, sets up at the equipment and tells me to look at right ear, shines light then look at the left ear.... and professes my retina looks beautiful. Ive never been told that, as a matter a fact Ive been told I have early signs of possible detachment. I ask him if thats what he sees, and he says no. Hmm... ok. meanwhile he never looked at the eyes with the new prescription. He hands me paperwork and Im done. I take home a bunk new RX that I cant see my computer with or signage from far off. Thank you for making my first dr experience in the DC area sad, and disappointing. dont believe everything in the Washingtonian when they have a top dr list,

UPDATE: Since writing this review Eye Associates contacted me and offered exceptional customer service by offering to repair my glasses. I have since moved away from Washington so I had to ship them in, but they replaced the lenses for free and shipped them back to me, even calling to confirm that I had received them. I originally reviewed them as 4 stars, but I now believe they deserve all 5. The lobby is very clean and nice, the people at the front are kind and the doctor was very detailed and took great care to ensure I felt comfortable and had all my questions answered. One reason I didnt give this all 5 stars was that when I picked up my glasses they had a scratch on one lens. I was in a super rush and didnt notice until the next day, so I felt I couldnt make the case that I hadnt done it myself (even though they remained in their case until I opened them the following day). I still see that scratch every time I put them on so I felt I couldnt give a 100%...but I would still go back for the eye services, no question

I have been with Dr. Lamothe for many years. He has provided eye-care for me and my family. We will not go anyplace else. He makes you feel like youre at home with his kind manners and even disposition. His staff is amazing as well. Dr. Lamothe will provide you with the best experience all-the-way around! Hes always on schedule, theres never been a wait and he enjoys providing his services all the way to helping you select the proper style frames for your occupation and/or lifestyle. If youre looking for an eye doctor that you can trust, it is Dr. Lamothe! I look forward to my eye exams every year. He makes them so much fun because he enjoys his speciality!!!

I recently got my eyes checked at Washington Eye Associates and had a very positive experience. Making an appointment was super easy and I was able to get one for the next week. The office is really hip and swanky, not what you expect at an optometrist! The folks here are very professional to and Dr Lamothe took me in right away. I got my vision tested and also a couple of other eye tests done too. I was able to walk out with a prescription in my hand fairly quickly! They do have a limited number of frames on display but I was not interested in them as I got my glasses made from elsewhere. I would highly recommend this place for an optometrist visit!

When I lived in Washington I had Dr Lamothe for a number of years and was always satisfied with both the front office staff as well as the doctor himself. Front office staff helped me save a little extra when I was transitioning employers and looked for good discounts. Dr Lamothe was always professional and speedy, but not rushed. He understands Washingtons culture and people want to be in and out and get on with their day. I had contacts and need my annual green light for a re-order and he had me in and out easy peasy. Im a fairly easy case but he was always kind and open to answering any questions I had about my eyes.

Dr. Lamothe is an incredible eye doctor. He is patient, a good listener, and a joy to be around. His staff is kind, professional, and attentive. My husband and I both travel into the city just to see him! He will support you with your eye care needs and health. Dr. Lamothe also gives back to the community; hearing about the support he offers to families in need of eye care locally and abroad let me know what a generous spirit he has. Oh, did I mention that Dr. Lamothe is funny? Hes got a great sense of humor.

I absolutely love Dr. Lamothe. My mother and I have been following him since he was in Iverson mall. He is very friendly and caring. He is one of the best eye doctors out and I would recommend everyone to go and see him. His office is always professional, quiet, neat and clean. Nice but inaccurate. They are super friendly, their office is in a great location downtown so theyre very convenient to access, and their office is very clean and tasteful. Unfortunately, both a friend of mine and myself received glasses that were the wrong prescription from this place about 6 months apart from each other. I liked going here but need my glasses to be the correct prescription!

The best optometrist Ive ever seen. Needed to renew my contact lens prescription. Took my existing contacts(which move around a lot in my eye) and the DR recommended a slightly different prescription and put me in a different brand. Love the new lenses. They fit really well and my eyesight is the best it has been in a very long time. Highly recommended!

I went in to get my prescription double checked and the doctor was awesome. He was professional yet funny, and a serious pro at what he is doing. He gave me advice on what type of progressives to get and how to adjust to them . Anyway I am very pleased with my glasses now and would highly recommend this practice.

Ive been wearing glasses since second grade and I am now 63 years old, so Ive been to quite a few opticians, optometrists and opthalmologists over the years. Washington Eye Associates is by far the best Ive ever encountered, on every level. I recommend Dr. Lamothe and his staff without hesitation or reservation.
