I went, as a new patient, to Kathryn Cooper. She spent 2 minutes with me and left her resident to take my medical history. When my blood report came back with very high numbers, she had someone in the office call me to find out if I would take a prescription for Satins. I didnt know what Statins were but, fortunately, my friend in the car was a nurse, and she told me I might want to check on information about that treatment before I accepted it. Dr.Cooper did not have the professional ethics to call me, as her patient, and have a conversation regarding the side effects that Statins could cause. She has been remiss, in other ways, in her treatment towards me. During the Thanksgiving Holiday when I needed emergency treatment, all messages at the office told me that it was closed and that I should call 911. I looked up the details of my insurance and found an urgent care office that accepted my Humana insurance. They confirmed that Kathryn Cooper was one of their accepted doctors. I went to the urgent care and was treated. They told me that when the holiday was over, to have Dr. Cooper send a referral to them. When I requested this of Dr. K. Cooper, she refused to give me the referral, saying that there was a message on their answering service about a Dr. they provided for their HMO patients. I never heard the message. What a nightmare it has been, to deal with this practice! When I needed medical care, Kathryn Cooper was totally indifferent to my needs. Id give her a zero, not even one star.

Rude! Rude! Rude! I have never been to a practice that was so inconsiderate. I made an appointment as a new patient several months prior. I took off work for the day since their hours did not accommodate my schedule. I arrived at my appointment on time and was told to compete the paperwork as fast as I could. The paperwork, as always, was fairly lengthy. When the paperwork was complete, I brought it to the receptionist and this is where the unprofessional, inexcusable behavior comes in. The receptionist then exclaims that I took too long to fill out the paperwork then tells me that I was called and reminded to arrive early. I never received said call and told her as such. She argued with me that I had and told me she was going to look it up in their "log". I told her to feel free since no such call occurred. This went on for several minutes - her nastily discrediting everything I was saying and me defending myself. She then called the doctor (Borg) who then claimed she couldnt see me. I was dismayed, infuriated, and let me know as much on my way out the door. As a new patient, that is certainly not how to welcome someone to the practice. I would never recommend them to anyone.

I was a patient for six years. Last March I called the office to have my medicine for my thyroid refilled. I called the pharmacy the following day; which was Tuesday and it was not filled. Nothing on Wednesday. Finally I called the office on Thursday to speak with a supervisor to get some resolve. The nurse had said she called me back; which was not true. Finally Friday it was called in to Walmart for the wrong dosage. Throughout that whole week I remained respectful and by Friday I did leave a message stating I was not happy. The following week on a Thursday I received a certified letter that effective immediately I was no longer a patient and could not see any doctors in the center. The reason that I was given when I called and asked was that the doctor felt she and I were not a good fit. Just dont complain about the staff and you may be ok. I was devastated. I felt like an animal put out to pasture.

Chris Cooper is an absolute joke. He has been treating my father for several years due to cirrhosis of the liver caused by Hep C that he received through a blood transfusion at St. Anthonys hospital back in 1984. He blatantly accused my father of drinking and said so to several other doctors, even though my father has not had a drink in over 25 years. He denied my fathers referral to be added to the list for a liver transplant at Tampa general Hospital because of this. The worst soon-to-be ex doctor ever to practice medicine. PLEASE DO NOT EVER ALLOW THESE PEOPLE TO TREAT YOU. Chris Cooper found lesions on my fathers liver over a year ago and told him "We will just wait and see if they grow", now he has liver cancer because of Coopers gross negligence. He is a poor excuse for a doctor and a money-hungry, awful human being.

For at least ten years I have been a patient at Cooper Family Medical and have been treated by Dr. Chris Cooper, my primary care physician, Dr. Andrew Clark, and Dr. Natalie Borg. Every single experience with each of these physicians and their staff members, has been excellent. In each case, I was listened to with respect and treated by knowledgeable doctors who were also friendly and caring. The staff has always been totally professional and relay medical information accurately. When necessary, they always manage to make room in the days schedule to fit me in for an urgent and/or emergency appointment. I couldnt ask for more and need look no further for excellence in a medical office.

Setting up my appointment was fine. I received a call on 6/27 asking if I wanted to reschedule my appointment, that was originally 8/26 for 6/30. I advised that young woman that I was out of town and I will keep my 8/26 appointment. She said okay and we ended the call. I just called to cancel my appointment for 8/26 and was told that my appointment was changed to 6/30 and I "no showed". Not sure how I can no show for an appointment I never made/changed. Thank goodness I found another doctor to see and who doesnt let staff change the schedule as they wish.

Dr. Pineno is very thorough and always makes sure my questions are answered fully. The new patient portal is great! I can see my chart and update my info from anywhere. Dr. Pineno is the first physician (3 others couldnt/didnt) to control my blood pressure in 15 years. Today was the first time I had an issue that couldnt wait and the staff worked me into his schedule. Dr Pineno had a med student and they worked well together. I have referred family coworkers to Cooper Family Medicine and they are happy with Dr Canada as well.

As a "new patient" I tried to schedule an appointment with this practice for a sinus infection and was told they couldnt see me until January or February because I wasnt established even though they had two doctors that were accepting new patients. Today is December 4th and I cant possibly wait over a month for a prescription. Disappointing, as I know popping in to receive a script for a z-pac doesnt take a long time. :(

This is by far the worst medical practice I have come across. They are unhelpful, rude & not at all deserving of your trust. I have reported two doctors & the practice to the Florida Board of Medicine / Health and am seeking an attorney for other unspecified damages as of today. I encourage all patients to seek other options at all costs.
