The most horrible experience. I was forced to switch doctors due to my medical insurance not covering the doctor that I have had for over 10 years. Giving him a fair chance I started to advise him of my medical issues and the purpose of my visit. ( I need to see a neurologist for the excessive pain in my neck and lower back.) He immediately tells me he doesnt provide narcotics. I was so insulted. I hadnt asked him for anything and only advised what I had been prescribed. Again he told me that he would not give me narcotics. At this point I laughed. Again I advised I was simply interested in a referral letter so that a specialist which I need to see can help me, because he could not. After my numerous hospital visits and visits with my primary I knew the next step was to see a neurologist. So he then advised he didnot like myattitude and he would not provide a refferal until he decided it was time. Ultimately taking up money from medicaid with visits after visits. And the fact that he had zero interest in provide anything to eliminate my pain (as I know it comes in waves on and off) . He told me I should find another doctor. Again I never asked this doctor for anything other than a referral and I got treated with humility, and disregard, as well as a "pill popper". I have been involved in numerous accidents (not my fault) as a result I have severe back and neck pain but this man had no intention on putting me in the direction I needed to be. He only wanted to have me make repetitive visits so he coud make money off of medicaid. Again I say I never asked him for anything other than a referral. I cant express this enough. Do yourself a favor and find another doctor that is willing to take the time to listen to your history and what you know about yourself. I promise you know more about yourself than he does. And he doesnt care to hear you only himself.

Amanda Marie, I had a very similar experience. I just started seeing Dr. Alarcon and he is just awful! I could go on and on with each visit but its pointless. The last visit, I told him I felt like I had fluid in my ears. I knew I did because it sounded like I was swimming in a pool! He looked at my ears and told me I didnt. I looked at him and said "um ok? So," and before I could ask a single question he said "if you dont believe me you can go see another doctor"! I was shocked! Dumbfounded actually. What kind of doctor let alone "person" treats someone like that? Makes me sick! He also gets to charge my insurance for doing literally absolutely nothing!!! I am a cancer survivor who needs to see an Endocrinologist and he wont even refer me to anyone! I had to call my insurance company and have them give me one and gorse the doctor to send me to them. In the process he is "going on vacation" so they couldnt do anything without making me do bloodwork in his office! Ive been dealing with an Endo since I was 19 years old, I am now 33 and he has to make me do bloodwork in his office before he can refer me? Makes no sense what so ever! Cant he just look at my records?! Annoying! I cant wait to get a new doctor! He is just awful! Oh and needless to say, the fluid in my ears literally poured out a few days later! I could have ended up with an infection.
