While I agree with many of Dr. Kallenbachs methods such as a conservative approach to vaccinations and using natural products, I am beyond disappointed after taking my 10- pound dog there for a check-up today. My dog is very skittish. As Dr. Kallenbach was getting ready to do a physical exam on my dog who was still in my lap, for some reason, Dr. Kallenbach thought that my dog tried to bite her twice at which point, she quickly and forcefully put my dog in a choke hold, pinned her to the ground while telling her she was a bad dog. Our dog was yelping in pain and also defecated on the floor. After being home for a few hours, we noticed that a blood vessel had burst in her left eye. I asked my daughter after this incident (when the doctor was out of the room) if our dog had tried to bite the dr. and she was as confused as I was because neither of us saw anything of the sort take place that would justify what Dr. Kallenbach did. All I saw was a dog that didnt want to go to the person trying to take her, but I saw no aggression or bite attempts whatsoever. If she had nipped or tried to bite, a much better approach, I would think, would have been a little more patience and brainstorming about how to do the physical exam with a dog that is skittish. Im hoping that this isnt her normal practice for scared dogs. As Im sure veteranarians are put in situations where they do need to be aware and have options to protect themselves, I would have not been as upset if Id had a large dog that actually lunged for, attacked or tried to bite the Dr. Unfortunately, my scared dog will now be even more terrified around strangers. Wish my 11 year old animal lover didnt have to be a witness to that. :(

In April, 2014, our basset hound suffered a disc injury in his back and lost all use of his hind legs. Consultation with our vet at the time, and calls to advanced veterinary surgical centers in Tampa and Gainesville all resulted in the same prognosis - an MRI ($3K) followed by surgery ($5K+), with no assurance of solving the problem. My wife found The Healing Place on the internet, and while I had no knowledge of holistic care - and even less confidence - I was desperate. We were immediately impressed with Dr. Trishs compassion and patience with us and Beau. Within 30 days, manipulations, laser and supplements had Beau literally back on his feet. Now, 2 1/2 years later, he has had no further problems. He continues to see Dr. Trish for routine checks and care. We could not be happier.

I went to The Healing Place after they being highly recommended by a friend who takes her rescues there. I have been to this place several times and found them very helpful. Way beyond what most vets I found would take the time to spend with a client answering questions and helping my animals. I travel a long ways to get to The Healing Place and so do some of my other friends. They have truly bent over backwards to help me in many predicaments. I truly appreciate the Dr.s patience with our hyper German Shepherd puppy. I have no hesitations to recommend The Healing Place to others and I am a very very picky person when it comes to the care of my animals.

Half Vet/pet store/ half nutritional and massage. Interesting mom n pop store. Dr Trish is a holistically based vet, with complimentary degrees in massage (human and animals) and nutrition. They offer pet visits, non invasive pain mgmt for pets and ppl, supplements for both pets and humans . Good healthy pet food and treats, annual rabies, shots, tags ...They also have items like those pink Himalayan salt lamps-but in intetesting containers.. Workers all very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. M-F 9-5

I will never call this business again. I have called and tried to make appointments for several rescue animals and cant get a call back. My parents also called for an appointment for their house pets and tried three times with no call back and no appointment. The prices are high but who cares if you cant get in. I called today with a very sick, may die household pet and they cant find time to see it. They are rude and non caring.

Highly recommend Dr. Trish!! She has been able to treat/comfort 2 of my fur babies when others were unable. I have a 3 lb chihuahua that she treated for an unknown pain he has had for awhile. She explained what she believed it was and treated him that day with adjustment. Amazing he acts like a puppy again. I am so thankful!!
