I live in a small town about 45 minutes away from Homosassa. When my 10 yr old cat had a terrible episode, the vets in my town couldnt see her for over a week. I was referred to Midway and when I called and spoke with the front desk woman, she sensed the urgency in getting my cat in and found me an immediate opening for that afternoon. Long story short, they did the test I could pay for and also, one I could not. They found my sweet girl was dying and only had a few days left. She was euthanized. The staff was very kind. They made it as easy as possible. Took care of the bill part so I didnt have to be in the waiting room sobbing. Gave me as much time as I needed with her, and met me outside with her wrapped up, even a little heart with her name on the box I took home. I am new to the area and plan on bringing all my pets here for care. Incredible bed side manner and their first care is for the animal. Its been just over a week and I actually received a sympathy card from them with all the employees signatures. It did bring me to tears, but I really appreciated it and wanted to post on how great this place is. I would drive the 45 minutes to have my fur kids in their care.

Very disappointed in my last visit to Midway. We have been going here for a long time and yesterday was one of the last times they will see us at Midway. One of our dogs became extremely sick coughing, throwing up, shaking. We took her to midway as an emergency visit since that is our normal vet and they told us they wouldnt see her unless we paid 75 dollars to make it an "emergency visit" after being asked very rudely if we could afford that amount of money we said yes and paid them. We then sat in the waiting room for 15 more mins while our dog is hacking and miserable. What was the point of making it an emergency visit? Just Bc we are young doesnt mean we cant afford to take care of our animals. And I dont appreciate being spoke to like less of a person Bc Im younger than you. Overall we were looked at and spoken to in a very unprofessional manner.

My husband and daughter brought our cat Sebastian (Bass) in this morning. We are new to town and didnt have a vet yet. I was unable to go because I was too upset and did not want to stress my Bass out any further in his final moments. He became very ill very fast, it was horrifying and heartbreaking and we are all completely broken over his passing. My husband and daughter said they were kind and compassionate and gentle with our old boy. And that he passed very peacefully and calmly with the euthanasia. As crushed as we all are, we are so incredibly grateful that Bass was treated so kindly. He will be so missed. We have now found our new vet in our new town and am looking forward to the Dr and staff meeting our babies, of course on less tragic circumstances. Thank you, Midway.

We took our cat in, due to a uti. After $250, he was given a shot and allowed to go back home. Everything seemed fine. 4 days later, he was barely breathing and very sick. So, we called up to see if we could bring him in. This was at 10am. They said they could MAYBE see him at 1. Finally after some pushing, they said ok, bring him in. So, we arrive, to find out he needs a surgery at the cost of 1200. We just dont have it. Then the vet says "Well, I gave up my lunch time for this". Excuse me?? We just found our our loved family member (who we thought was fine now) is probably going to have to be euthinized. I dont care about your lunch. This is ridiculous. What a thoughtless thing to say. We will never come back.

Took my chocolate lab in for an initial visit. When I went back to pick up meds, they told me that my pup had heart worms, and that treatment would be close to $1,000. I took her to two other vets with onsite laboratories, both came back as negative. Pretty lowly of Midway to lie to my face and suggest unnecessary and expensive treatment. Would recommend staying clear of these scumbags, or at the very least get other opinions from more reputable vets. They are also responsible for the death of my parents dog, after a misdiagnosis, and recomended a treatment that killed her shortly after.

I cannot say enough about the Dr. Dearden and the staff at Midway Animal Hospital. Our dog got very sick and we rushed her to Midway. We got top-notch care and support. Our sweet puppy did not make it, and Dr. Dearden and staff comforted us and gave us as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes. They were patient with answering all of our questions. They treated our puppy as if she were their own. I have no doubt that if anyone could have saved her, it would have been this crew.

The doctor did two knee replacements on my dog and did such an absolutely amazing job. The stitches never came undone in a very vulnerable place and the dog was completely normal after both surgeries. Also they are a little bit more for surgeries but they also have the best aftercare which is the most critical when a dogs surgery so theyre healthy and come out of the surgery doing well. Thank you!

I loved the people working there, everyone was great and loved my puppy. good prices on everything! Really like the doc! she was smart and very helpful. My dog had gotten tape worm :( and the brought me in the back and showed me what to look for, and what to do if my other animals have it. I was very happy with the services, and will be returning!

Weve been taking our furry friends to Midway for over a decade. Visits have always been timely and their service tremendous. Everyone there has warm and caring hearts. Bulleit says 5 Stars also, hes not quite figured out a keyboard yet though. =)

VERY nice staff! Went in for a nail trim at the last minute, missed the groomer(10-2pm). Was very pleased with services plus found the food I stopped recently. Also found a flea collar that I have heard good reviews on. Very pleased today!!

Dr Dearden is indeed the best, as is the staff. My fur-baby is diabetic, and Dr and staff are extremely knowledgeable and understanding about his condition. Best in the area.
