Absolutely wonderful animal hospital and staff. One cold snowy Saturday evening my son and I went home to find our large lab mix with a cut paw that was bleeding profusely. Our local veterinarian was closed so we had to drive about an hour to this animal hospital. We arrived at about 1:30am Sunday morning and were greeted by the excellent staff there. They immediately went to work on Biscuit (our lab mix) and did everything they could to accommodate us. I would like to give Sierra, the ICU nurse, special recognition for her outstanding job. Even though it was the middle of the night, she was extremely friendly to both my son and I and Biscuit. She kept us well informed of everything that was going on and did everything she could to make us comfortable. We ended up being there a few hours because they had to put him out and stitch him up. The doctor (I cant remember his name) was also phenomenal. He took his time to explain what had happened and what he was doing to fix it. The doctor was extremely intelligent and definitely knew what he was doing. The staff took excellent care of Biscuit. After a over a week of carefully following their instructions we returned to have his stitches removed. Once again, the staff was excellent. Sierra again took excellent care of Biscuit and got him all fixed up. He had an excellent recovery and is now able to do the things he loves doing most, being outside and romping around. Thanks to the staff here, both we and Biscuit are happy. Hopefully we wont have to come here again but if we do ever have an emergency again, this is definitely the place we will go. These people truly care about animals and strive to make both pets and owners happy. Absolutely excellent place and staff. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

We recently had to use Western Carolina Regional Veterinary Emergency Services for our 10 year old Dachshund. We have never had an after hour emergency before and wasnt sure what to expect. From the minute we arrived, on last Sunday early evening, we experienced nothing but the upmost in professional and friendly service. They scooped Abby out of my arms and took her into their emergency room and started oxygen. Within minutes Dr. Gibson had x-rays and knew exactly what was going on and what needed to be done. She explained everything to us in detail and shows us on the x-rays as she was explaining. She let us know of the severity of Abbys pneumonia and the possibility of a not so great outcome. To make a long story short, after 4 days in their emergency care, their day and night shifts got our Abby back to health. She still has weeks till full recovery, but if I had waited till the following Monday morning, thinking I would take here to our regular vet, Abby would probably not be with us. My wife and I are so thankful that we have a facility like Western Carolina Emergency Care for our pets that provides us with 24/7 care. It gives us a lot of piece of mind. Thanks so much to all of the staff.

Cant even begin to say how thrilled I am with this place... Didnt know they existed until my dog was bitten by a snake close to closing time and my vets office wouldnt see her. A friend told me about this place while I was panicking about having to go to reach... I love my dogs like children and dont really think the people at reach have my dogs best interest in mind.. That said... This place is amazing ... The entire staff was compassionate and professional... I felt like my baby was in good hands.. Things were explained in great detail.. Including all possible routes of treatment.. Wasnt pressured in the least.. Was allowed to make what I felt was best choice.. And great news... My baby was tremendously better the next day.. And when we took her there I was fearing the worst.. And much to my surprise... The entire visit and meds didnt really cost much more than my regular vets visit! Will be telling everyone about this place... Reach doesnt even hold a candle to this place... Oh... They just called and asked how she was doing!

I had two experiences here. Way over-priced and when a stray dog walked into my yard, this staff was less than happy to quote me a price under $6000 to repair him. They said put the dog down. I walked out, disgusted. I even had to pay close to $200 just for "their opinion." I went down the street on 176 to another vet who helped me bring the dog back to health -- more than six weeks care for UNDER $200. And that included medicines and shots. I am happy to report that the dog is now back with its original owner and quite healthy. Furthermore, I am disgusted that I was solicted by this ER for regular pet services. Why would my everyday vet refer me to this ER clinic if they knew Id be solicited to get my annuals at this ER. I dont think thats professional of a pet ER in this area when so many everyday vets are just trying to get by in this economy.

This Hospital is very nice and kept clean, but they have a doctor there named William Gibbson, he abuses animals and thinks its ok to do so. When i brought my one year old Australian Shepard and Blue Heeler mix (who has never bitten or attacked anyone) they where very kind until Gibbson came into the room. My puppy started to growl so he asked me to muzzle him, so i did. Then he started to check his ears very violently and my puppy started to defecate all over himself, he tried to back away and Gibson lost his grip and the muzzle slipped off, so Gibbson takes my puppy by the neck and throws him across the room into a wall. When i asked him why he did it his response was "I was making sure he did not bite you". Now my dog is terrified of males and it takes him a long time to get used to new people.

I had two visits here with my dog in the past 2 weeks and had the best experiences. The first visit was for a puncture wound to my dogs face and they were so nice, and the price was exactly what they quoted. They were very caring towards me and my dog. They also followed up with phone calls to check on my dogs progress. Each employee was so nice and the doctor didnt try to do everything to make charges higher. The second time was because my dog kept vomiting and could not keep his food down. My dog didnt look sick, and they looked him over and made a decision between the doctor and me in determining the best treatment plan for my dog. I have already told everyone I know about how wonderful this place is. I cant write enough nice things about the staff and the clinic itself is so clean.

Wow. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. We needed a 24 hour vet because our dog was throwing up and seemed to be in pain. We went at 10 oclock at night and had Dr Hughes. He was amazing. So thorough and genuinely concerned. My dog is skittish and Dr Hughes sat down on the floor with her for 15 minutes trying to make her feel comfortable. I ended up leaving her for the night and came back the next day. When I returned Dr Foote is who I saw. She is amazing also. She called 4 times personally in the next 2 days to see how my pup was feeling! Who does that! The nurse also called twice. I cant recommend this place enough. The nurses, drs, everyone was amazing.
