Ive been a patient of Dr. Mendez for a along time. First let me say that if you have a co-pay, DONT pay cash. I always keep record of my payments but still received bills in the mail. It took many phone calls until I finally straightened it out with Dr. Mendezs wife Kathy. I now pay with my credit card and had no problem with billing. I will say that Dr. Mendez is very nice but if you have ALL DAY TO WASTE, Then thats the office for you. If you make an appointment, you will NEVER get taken on time, because other people are booked the same time. All you hear in the small waiting room are people complaining about how disgusted they are. The waiting room is so small and they over book to the point that there is no place for everyone to sit. While I was there, three people walked out. I made my appointment three months ago and when I arrived they told me the Dr. Will not be in for an hour. Lets not forget all the people sitting and standing in the small waiting area. When I finally got in the office, I was supposed to have a biopsy, surprise, surprise, I was told I was only there for consultation. No, thats not what I scheduled three months ago. I will NOT be returning to that office again. I really should have read other reviews before starting with this office. Before choosing a doctor, REVIEW first.

PA and assistant horrible very deceiving, I was told two moles on my sons face were removed and to return in 2 month so they could be evaluated by Dr.Mendez. Its been less than 1 week and one of the moles is the same. I returned to the office so it could be examined and now Im told all they did on the 1st visit was a biopsy. That it needs to be scraped and sutured. That my insurance doesnt cover it because its cosmetic. The biopsy came back negative this mole is smaller than the one that is healing properly. PA and assistant became irrate when I said that I was mislead to believe the procedure done on the 1 visit had been to remove the moles and not just a biopsy. PA turned and left the office. If it was just a biopsy than why was my son given an appointment in 2 month to evaluate. A biopsy takes less than a week for results. I explained to them the urgency of having them removed before school started. I dont have anything to say about Dr.Mendez my son has an appointment with him on Monday. If you have to see the PA in this office go elsewhere. rude, misleading, simply horrible bedside manners. I gave them a 2 because front desk was courteous.

I called the doctor and he directed me to Dr. Jennifer who CLEARLY had no idea what she was doing. She had an assistant who looked about 20 years old that also had no idea what she was doing. Dr. Jennifer had to correct her every single time she told her numbers for a medication. Its ridiculous how I paid $100 for a women to careless look at me subscribe a cream for my skin that didnt even work. Not to mention how the lady at the front office saw my concerned face about the prices and told me the doctor might lower the cost after I see her, funny joke right? After literally 2 MINUTES I paid this "Dr. Jennifer" $100 dollars to assume what I had. I told her my problem was white spots on my skin and she rudely said "get out of the sun". I paid $100 for some lady to tell me to get out of the sun when its clearly a part of life. I can reduce it but not completely eliminate sunlight. DO NOT WASTE TIME COMING HERE... SPEND MONEY ELSEWHERE.

Dr. Mendez is the best! I have seen him on multiple occasions for various dermatologic problems (bleeding moles, skin rashes, skin infections and wounds). He is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, caring, kind, and trustworthy. He truly cares about his patients. Sometimes it takes a long time to get an appointment with him (unless its an urgent concern) and the waiting times can be long, but thats because hes the best at what he does and his patients love him! I live in Maryland, but hes still my dermatologist. My parents switched to him as their dermatologist after I started seeing him :) I recommend Dr. Mendez without hesitation or reservation

I would recommend Dr. Mendez to anyone who is looking for a good, thorough dermatologist who knows his stuff. Dr. Mendez was very personable and professional, taking the time to actually care about my well being and needs. If not for him, I would have never thought twice about that mole on my shoulder or found the other one. Living in South Florida has its drawbacks and Ive known too many who did not heed the warnings. His staff is very friendly and I love the Saturday availability too! The waiting room could be a tad larger to accommodate patients who bring multiple family members with them to their appointments.

Horrible!!!! My appointment was for 9:00am and I got here at 8:50am. At 11am I am still in the waiting room waiting to be seen. HORRIBLE!!! They overbook and expect you to wait over two hours as if you dont have anywhere else to be. HORRIBLE! I should have gone to another dermatologist and just cancelled my first appointment. Now I am forced to continue seeing this doctor because I dont want to pay another first visit fee somewhere else... Every time I go (it has been four appointments) I have to wait over two hours. I am writing this as I wait in the waiting room at this very moment. HORRIBLE!!!!

I went to see Carolina Alvarez, the PA as i have had good recommendations from other friends with kids who see her. The staff at the front desk was very nice and professional. The wait was reasonable as there is always some sort of a wait at any doctors office. Once i was seen i was very satisfied with the level of professionalism she displayed and her positive and friendly vibe. She was very informative in what she was going to do and what medications she was going to prescribe and how to use them. I am definitely going to recommend her practice to others.

We brought our son here for warts on his elbow. We never got to see the doctor, only his PA. After several visits and no improvement, we requested to see the doctor. We waited in his waiting room for 2hours before walking out. We left not because he was busy seeing patients, but because he had a waiting room full of patients and wasnt seeing any of them. It is a “load them into the waiting room and Ill get to them when I get to them” situation. We have subsequently filed a complaint with TRICARE. My recommendation is to go elsewhere.

I also can say that the waiting area is quite small and your appointment is not acknowledged. We had to wait for over an hour to be seen. I also have an issue with being charged a ridiculous amount up front even though I had insurance. I received an EOB a few weeks later which proved that I had overpaid. I am going back there to request a refund only. I will never go back there as a patient. I will be writing another reveiw of that experience pretty soon, trust me , I have more to say already.
