I took my dog to have his eye looked at, while waiting in the private room for the doctor a nurse came thru my room to where the doctor was in another part of the building and she excused herself. This was fine once, even twice after the 10th time not just one vet tech, but two stopped in the middle of my room and began to discuss personal business and then left the room with both doors hanging wide open. When the doctor came in to do a stain test on my dogs eye to see if he had a tare, he was asking my what things I had done to help him prior to this visit. After I rattled off some homeopathic steps I took he went and got a book he wrote I might want to buy with various homeopathic cures in it..... I found this to be inappropriate to say the least. It turns out my dog did indeed have a tare to his cornea and was given two ointments and some antibiotics to take home. I was never advised to get a cone to prevent him from pawing his eye, nor was I given anything for his pain. After two days with no signs of improvement and constant pawing I called the vet and asked if that was normal. "oh no she said, you need a cone." When I asked if I could come buy one she put me on hold to see if she had one in my size. After 10 minutes on hold she came back laughing saying she forgot which line I was on and that No they had no collars for me. I bought a cone from another local vet who was nice enough to sell it to me without seeing my dog. Then I went on-line to find out that I should have been given a cone AND pain meds on my initial visit. It has now been a week since my visit. No one has ever called to check on my dog, even though I have called twice with concerns about his healing. It cost me $150 and I do not feel that this Vet cared anything about my animal at all, he just wants the money............ I will never go back.

WONDERFUL. Lets start off with saying that Dr. Rossi is amazing and I am glad to have found him. Also, the prices are extremely low. Lets start with saying I have 4 pets. A dog, argentine tegu (large reptile), and two bearded dragons. My tegu was experiencing skin issues and had an infection. I set up an appointment and was seen within 15 minutes from arriving. Dr. Rossi took his time looking at my tegu, examined his skin, asked all of the right questions and was extremely helpful. With an exam, two weeks worth of injections, and a skin cream, my trip was less than $160 with my student discount. He did so great with Mojo, my Tegu, so I started bringing my rescue dog in. He also had serious skin issues and I couldnt figure out what was causing it. His first visit he was examined and got medication. Dr. Rossi also discussed possible causes and mentioned I should try changing a few things like detergents, checking him after he goes outdoors, inspecting the carpets for bugs etc. his meds helped his skin within two days! After a couple months the issue came back and we went to see Dr. Rossi again. We ended up doing an allergy panel and it turns out my dog is allergic to a million different things and we needed to change his food and keep him away from areas with a lot of pollen. Everything was changed and my dog and reptiles are thriving. I couldnt thank him enough. I just moved back to California and I hope I find a vet as great as him.

Im honestly surprised this establishment has such great reviews. We had our pit mix fixed here well over a month ago. Her recovery was normal but after 3 weeks the stitches were still in. So we called and they advised us to bring her in. We had planned to bring her in anyway cause she had a slight limp. So while she was under for X-rays, they removed the rest of her stiches, or so we thought. We noticed a bump last week and tonight we pulled about a 2-inch piece of stitching from her. She still has a hard bump there, most likely because she could never heal properly due to the string still being in her. I also agree with other reviews saying that they over charge. While sitting and waiting for my appointment, which I arrived early for and still waited for over an hour, the numbers I heard them charging were astronomical. Of course I dont know the exact needs of these clients pets, but it seemed excessive. This is the FIRST review Ive ever left, but I had to get this out there. Maybe Dr. Rossi is great with other animals, but after spending close to $1000 here within 2 months, we arent very happy at all.

For my dogs life (14 years) we had the same vet. When he retired and the office went "corporate" my dogs health began to fail and I was paying for a plethora of meds and tests but nothing changed. He had bronchitis was the only diagnosis. One morning he was very ill, I went in and they could not see me for a week! I immediately went to Dr. Rossi, Based on our conversation he knew what was wrong with my baby. He took an x-ray and reviewed the last blood work from the previous office. Congestive heart failure was the diagnosis. He took time to explain it to me so I understood and explained the medications and what they would do. They saved his life. He is happy, playful, and eating again. THANK YOU for giving me back my best friend.

I have been going to Dr. Rossi for all of my pets needs for nearly 20 years and have always been extremely pleased with the staff at Riverside Animal Hospital. They are a high traffic facility so I do recommend making an appointment. They are awesome about payment arrangements for those high priced procedures as well. After the passing of two of my dogs, Dr. Rossi and the staff sent me condolence cards which I thought was very thoughtful. Even though I have moved further away from the vet hospital, I continue to bring my pets there due to the staff and Dr. Rossi. The only drawback to this vet is the size of the building. They could benefit from a much larger site to handle all of the business.

I took my very special City Shelter rescue dog Maggie for her initial examination and shots and have been back since then. Both Maggie and me have very high anxiety and it is her job to keep help me. The last thing I wanted was another experience where either the tech or the Dr. are not compassionate or patient during the exam, treatment, etc. Everyone at Riverside Animal Hospital is patient, compassionate, helpful and took their time getting her comfortable for her exam and shots and nail clipping. Never again will I struggle trying to clip her nails, they were so quick and good there! Wonderful all around, thank you.

Dr. John Rossi has been my vet for more than 15 years. He took care of my sweet ferrets for years and my many cats and dogs. The compassion he has shown at the times I have lost my beloved babies, and his attention to detail with my regular visits has been wonderful. He takes the time to listen and addresses each problem as needed. I couldnt ask for a more loving, caring vet. There is an empathy there(Dr. Rossi and staff included) that you dont find in many offices. Thanks one and all for being there and doing such a wonderful job.
