I had my first visit here several months ago and was happy with the appointment. Dr. Witt was friendly and seemed knowledgeable and kind. At that time I had inquired about scheduling a joint appointment for both myself and my daughter in the future and I was told it would be no problem to accommodate that type of appointment. I was so happy at the prospect of being able to have the convenience of the doctor seeing myself and my daughter in one visit. I called the office a few weeks later to schedule the appointment for the both of us and I was told they could not fit us in for at least 2 1/2 months. I was surprised by the lack of availability but since neither appointment was an emergency I went ahead and booked it that far in advance. I received a voicemail 2 days before my scheduled appointment that they needed to reschedule us because they were moving locations on the day of my appointment. In the message they incorrectly indicated that they needed to reschedule the appointment for both myself and my "husband" (not daughter) and that they had moved it for later in the week and to call them if that time would not work. Unfortunately the time they rescheduled my appointment for was not going to work for me since it was in the middle of my normal work day. Thinking this would be a relatively easy fix, I called them to let them know this appointment time would not work for me due to my own work schedule. The receptionist was very short and quite rude in her response, stating that if I couldnt make that appointment time that I would have to wait another few months until the doctor returned from her maternity leave. I was shocked at her lack of apology for the inconvenience and I reminded her that I had scheduled this appointment well over 2 months ago and that they were now needing to reschedule me due to their own conflict, giving me only 2 days’ notice and offering me only 1 other reschedule option that I could not accommodate. She then told me (just as rudely) that I could see the physician assistant if I wanted but that was my only other option. I told her that I was not interested in either option and was extremely unhappy with the inconvenience and more so, the lack of them being willing to find me an alternative appointment time that I could make with the doctor I was originally scheduled with. The receptionist was completely apathetic and unwilling to help. I have since received a text message and email asking me to confirm the appointment time that I already called and notified them that I could not make. I, myself, am in the medical profession and while I understand that scheduling conflicts exist and need to be handled within a medical clinic, I also expect a certain degree of politeness, understanding, and flexibility when the conflict is at the fault of the practice and not that of the client. It is unfortunate that this practice suffers from such a lack of professionalism and that common courtesy seems to elude them. I would not, and have never, treated my own clients or patients this way and I will not be returning to a practice that shows such little consideration for those who seek out their services.

My experience with Dr. Derrows office was very positive. The waiting area has plenty of chairs, a TV and a nice play area for kids. My wait was short. Dr. Derrow did a thorough exam and answered all my questions. I returned for a minor procedure a few weeks later. The doctor had good surgical technique and gave good advice for minimizing scarring, something my previous dermatologist did not do. One prior dermatologist treated me like a number -- he was cold and acted like I was wasting his time. By contrast, Dr. Derrow was warm and friendly and I will definitely go back.

I have been going to this dermatology group for my horrible acne and let me just say they are the most kind and caring. Every time I arrive, I sit to enjoy sweet Starbursts, wonderful receptionists, and low waiting times to get my medicine. I have had appointments with Dr. Derrow and Dr. Sarantos, and I am happy to say I would recommend this dermatology group to my friends and to anyone reading this. :-)
