Worst experience ever! Would not even give it 1 star. I found Cala Hills Dental on Groupon and it seemed like a fantastic deal and a great place to become an established patient, I read the Groupon reviews and they looked good overall. I read the reviews because I was thinking it was a deal too good to be true and I was right, I should have searched the reviews on other sites like this one. When I originally called to schedule everything seemed fine and I just had to wait 2 months to get in seeing as how I was a new patient and they were so busy because of the Groupon deal. After waiting the couple of months and the day before my appointment, I receive a call at 5 in the afternoon that I have to be rescheduled because a hygienist would not be there to perform my cleaning. After 3 days of calling and leaving messages to reschedule I finally got a call back and made another appointment for two weeks later and repeatedly said the date, verbally confirming to the woman to make sure there would be no problems and that someone would be able to take care of me for sure on that date. I arrive the day of and wait at the front desk for at least five minutes before Im greeted by the one scattered woman running the entire office for her to tell me that I had missed my appointment the week before, which was impossible because I wrote down the date as I was on the phone for my reschedule. She pulls me into a consultation room to "figure things out" and after 10 minutes of waiting I left. It was only her and the dentist there in the whole office after all. My Groupon expires in 2 days and my money is wasted but I figure if thats the way they run an office and a business, which was the most poorly operated place of business Ive ever seen, then I dont want any of them treating me for dental health. And after reading reviews, it seems people were told they needed procedures that they really didnt, so in the end, I believe I was lucky that I never got a chance to be seen.

Terrible Staff!!! My appointment was at 9am on 8/12, an appointment I had to scheduled back in June because it was the only thing they had available. They called me with the appointment reminder and they did not think to mention they their name is completely different to what they have on their website... Yeah, I was looking for a place called complerely different. I called them around 8:48am completely lost since they pre recorded message they have is useless as it has an entire section of the directions missing, and the lady that answered the phone was rude, and not helpful at all. When I finally sort of got to the place where I supposed to be, around 9:02am, I called back to ask if their name was Cala Dentals, and they said "we are going to have to re schedule anyways because you are supposed to be here 15 minutes earlier" I was astonished, I told them how I had called 15 minutes earlier and got hang up on and how the directions they have on their phone service and the ones I got on the phone were not helpful at all, and all she said "is not our resposability to give directions." So when I asked when is their next available appointment they said October. I asked if there was anything earlier than that and they said "we are busy now, you have to take it or Ill hang up." Terrible terrible staff service.

They dont even deserve the one star, I wish I had done my research first. I got my top teeth pulled and paid them 2,000 out of pocket and financed another 3 because it would also include my full plate. They gave me a follow-up appt for 4 days later for post-op, which was confirmed by text message and I show up and the door is locked. No note, no phone call stating there was an emergency, nothing. I was left hanging. So I called a few times left messages and never heard anything back. The plate I paid for doesnt fit. I had to go see another dentist who did a temp fix because I havent been able to eat which cost me another 330 out of my pocket only to be told by this dentist who I did investigate very well before seeing that I would have to be fitted for a brand new plate because this one is to big and is basically useless. Now I have to go to Shands because Im not healing right. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST!!!!!

If I could give this business ZERO stars, I would... DO NOT PURCHASE THIS GROUPON. My husband was looking for a dentist in the Ocala area and we found this deal on Groupon back in December. I have been trying to make an appointment for almost 6 months. I have called every single day for those 6 months and left messages on numerous occasions. Twice in those 6 months, my call was returned. An appointment was made on 2 separate occasions. On both of those occasions, the appointment was cancelled the day before. To make matters worse, this business fraudulently marked the Groupon as used in order to get their money. There is no chance in hell that anyone would give this crooked business anything more than 1 star. It HAS to be family members and/or employees. Save your time, money, and patience... and find another dentist! I honestly cant believe this place is actually in business! SCAM!

After the office canceled a confirmed appointment and the office then rescheduled me six weeks later, the office did not honor its Groupon on the day I showed up. True, I had been there before and true the Groupon was only good for new patients--but the name on the Groupon was "Easy Pay Dental." I did not remember ever previously visiting "Easy Pay Dental," because the name on the building door says "Calla Hills Dental." I was not allowed to apply the Groupon value towards the regular price for a cleaning. Overall, the office has unreasonable and unhelpful policies--difficult to get anything scheduled. The office accommodates the personal schedule of its employees, not the advertised hours of operation.

Overcharged and did not fully explain how much work would be actually done to my 2 kids. After leaving his office (before work) I had thought that more work would be done. I didnt have dental insurance or discount program and my childrens teeth were in really bad shape and required multiple tooth extractions, by the end of it I was maxed out on my care credit account with $10,000 couldnt afford to finish fixing all their teeth. Maybe I misunderstood something but after leaving his office I had thought that most of their issues would be fixed. Im still paying off my care credit every month, hopefully I can get it down far enough to take it to a different dentist and finish the job.

After waiting nearly an hour and being moved from one waiting room to the next, I was finally told that a mistake was made and that I would have to be rescheduled. This conversation occurred after having watched through a window their consultant (who only came in to discuss my visit and insurance info and then never returned) go to her car for a smoke break. When I said I needed to be seen immediately because I had a chipped tooth and took half a day off work for the appointment, I was told, "Yeah. We need to reschedule." I wish I had researched Dr. Spivey online beforehand. I wouldve known ahead of time what I know now of his practice.
