UPDATE: I met with Dr. Ruiz for the first time yesterday. I was the last appointment of the day and waited about 30 minutes past my appointment time. I walked in with low expectations given prior experiences here. Im delighted to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my experience. Although the appointment was only scheduled for 15 minutes, we met for about 30-45. He listened to my initial grievences about medication refills and offered solutions in case it happens again. From there, he introduced himself, explained his background, and asked me if I had any additional questions. From there, we started from the beginning of my treatment and discussed. He is one of the most knowledgeable psychiatrists I have seen and offers evidence to support his opinions and suggestions. I walked out with multiple printouts from reputable institutions that acknowledged my concerns and provided information for my condition and the future. The office administrator who checked me out was much better than the others Ive dealt with and took her time to help me schedule a follow up appointment and a consultation with one of their therapists. Im keeping my rating at two stars for the practice, despite my pleasant experience with Dr. Ruiz, because it is poorly run and is in need of some drastic improvements. One major improvement would be to their website and the information they disseminate about their practice. There are no biographies of providers at the practice and very little information about the practice as a whole. In addition, there still doesnt seem to be a justification for calling seven separate times to have my prescriptions refilled. ---------------------------------- The office is ALWAYS behind. The providers are okay, but there is no emphasis on treatment, only medicating. After one appointment with a provider, the office called to notify me that the provider no longer accepts my insurance, and my upcoming appointment would need to be rescheduled with the other doctor. I agreed so long as my medication would be filled, as the next available appointment with the other provider was over a month away. I was told theyd call in a refill. After I spoke to office staff on seven separate occasions over the course of three weeks (not including voicemails), my prescription was called into my pharmacy. During one such conversation, after explaining the situation, I was told Id need to pay a refill fee because it was due to a cancelled appointment. After explaining that I was not the one who cancelled the appointment, she said shed talk to the doctor (three calls and a week later I got the prescription refilled). On another occasion, I needed my records faxed to my physician ASAP, and it took over a week for me to get my paperwork. The records associate was out and no one was covering or could even tell me when she would be back. I only received my records after coming into the office. I will only return here out of pure necessity. The way this practice is run is truly an embarrassment and a perfect example of whats wrong in "healthcare"

If could give this place a negative number, I would. Reason? Their front desk receptionist is beyond rude!!! For behavioral healthcare organization, you would think that management would take some time to train the front desk to helpful and keep patients calm. Instead, what you get is some girls eating bonbons, texting, keeping patients waiting, rolling their eyes at patients and their families, and telling patients when they call all of the wrong information. When confronted about their behavior, the shut the window glass in our face. I took my husband here because our insurance company has a "particular way" of handling first visits to such places. We had to go here first, see a specific doctor, then we could transfer. While sitting at the lobby on two different occasions, I witnessed the front desk give all of the wrong information to patients, then tell the patient it was their fault for being wrong. If you dont have a major mental health condition, you will by the time you leave this place. All I want is for God or Satan to do me the honor of driving these people into hell myself.

Dr. Ruiz is the most horrible mental health doctor in Orlando possibly in all of Florida. He is extremely rude and kept interrupting what I was saying because he was typing slowly. He wanted to talk to me about my sexual, verbal, and physical abuse mind you I came in for help with focus. He made me remember all these things down to the date and time which was unnecessary I also kept telling him I didnt want to talk about it but he insisted I did and as a woman that was very unprofessional and rude. I dont understand why he is even a doctor he doesnt seem that educated. He asked me where my boyfriend was from... I knew he meant his ethnicity but i refuse to answer to racism as well. Not only did he not help give me any solutions but towards the end of my visit I started crying out of fustration got up and left. If you want your time and money wasted i recommend Dr. Ruiz. However the staff is fairly good I dont want to discredit the office.

Worst front office staff ever! So rude and not patient at all with people. I could hardly ever get them on the phone for an appointment. Every time I called during their business hours I would get a voicemail. I left a voicemail and didnt get a call back until 2 business days later. It took me a week to finally be able to talk to a human being. When I did, she was rude because I didnt have my insurance information on hand and hung up on me when I said I had the card in my purse and I could get it out in a second or two. Then when I called back to make my first appointment, they told me I had to go through a primary physician first for a referral. I ended up never making an appointment at this place because it was such a hassle. I made an appointment with a different therapist at a different place and it was much easier and way more pleasant and I didnt need a referral or anything.

Found them on my insurance shouldve looked on Google before I made my appointment. My psychiatrist was okay not great. Then try to make an appointment for a psychologist two weeks out, she was okay. The first medicine my psychiatrist put me on didnt do well with me and she switched it and I was doing really well. I had to miss A couple appointments and making new ones was like pulling teeth. And finding a psychologist they scheduled me with someone out of my plan. And had to switch psychologist and then my psychiatrist moved out of my plan and before she drop me as a client I asked if she would refill my prescription Ive left her several messages. No answer. Whats even worse than suffering from a mental illness? Starting getting better, starting to feeling better and then somebody refusing to refill your prescription so you get worse all over again.
