My experience with Oviedo Premier Dental has been disappointing. I came to this dentist because I wanted someone local. I searched several dentist in the area and found the reviews at this dentist favorable. I scheduled my first appointment and all went well. My second appointment, I had my cleaning and the hygienist was wonderful! My third visit was to have an onlay done on my back tooth. Everything seemed to go well. I came back for the fourth time to pick up my whitening kit....this is when all the problems start....problem #1.....I walked in and waited in front of the receptionist for a minute or two, as she was on the phone. She looked at me and acknowledged me. Her call seemed to be taking some time (personal call regarding her son), so I sat down and figured after she got off phone, she would call on me. I waited and waited almost 30 minutes then I finally got up and asked if they were running behind. Her reply was no and asked me my name. I told her and she says "oh we havent checked you in". I proceeded to tell her that I walked in, she saw me, I stood there and waited for her to get off phone before sitting down and I assumed I would be called on seeing as how it was only myself and another man waiting in the lobby. She apologizes and Im immediately called back to pick up the whitening kit. Problem #2..... my onlay comes out and I go back about a week later. I go in thinking it just needs to be recemented because I had the piece....mind you it cost me $1,000 and should have never come out if done properly. I was told it needed to be redone, so I sat through the procedure again (which is not fun) got all numbed up again, had my mouth stretched to the limit again and had further drilling done to "hold in place". I was there for two hours. Problem #3..... the assistant working with my dentist was new and had to have help with the computer making the onlay and margins before sending off to mill. After about 25 minutes of another assistant showing and guiding her, I turned around to ask...."has it been sent to mill yet"? I honestly was getting more and more upset. I was told I would be there just over an hour. And I understand training with new staff, but not when a patient has to come back on an emergency basis for a procedure for a second time. I felt disregarded as if I had all the time in the world for this assistant to get training while Im sitting there waiting. Because I already had this procedure done with an experienced assistant, I knew it shouldnt have taken 30 minutes on computer. #problem 4..... since the second onlay procedure, which was done last Thursday, my mouth still hurts, I cant drink anything cold or hot and my cheek is severely bruised. This was not the case the first time I had it done a few weeks ago. I was only sore for a day or two. #problem 5..... I waited all weekend to see if my mouth, cheek would feel better and the longer I waited, the more frustrated I got. Not just about the pain and soreness, but from the receptionist issue, to the assistant issue, to having the procedure done all over again, so I called yesterday morning to speak to the office manager Cheryl and let her know how I was feeling. Not to get anyone in trouble, just to have some understanding in my experience and maybe rectify the situation. As of now, 3:50 the next day....no one has called me back. I feel my experience was disappointing and Im scheduled to have my front tooth crown re-done next Tuesday and feel maybe Oviedo Premier Dental is not right for me. I spent $1500 within a few weeks and my crown was going to cost another $1500. Plus, my treatment plan included Invisalign for another $4,000-$5,000. Thats a lot of money for a new patient to spend and no call back. Apparently, you are just a number at this practice. Sincerely Disappointed, Jennifer

The women who took my x rays and cleaned my teeth were very friendly and mostly informative. I was not pleased with the remainder of my appointment experience, especially when I am used to the service provided at my former dental office in Brevard County. I am contemplating going back to them, although it is inconvenient since I know longer live in that area. First of all, I had discussed my concern about the appearance of a tooth that has stains (coffee?) along the filling line. Although one of the women had mentioned to the dentist that it could be just be polished, it was instead recommended by him that I get a new filling. While I am not pleased with how that tooth looks, I dont see why a new filling is warranted. That is also a greater expense. And more time off work. I really just want the brownish stain off...I can deal with how the fillings on my tooth appear for now. Plus, the fillings are still taking care of the cavity there. I cant help but think how easy it was when this tooth gave me trouble previously; my former dentist simply polished it up during a cleaning visit. I didnt have to go a separate time and he didnt say I needed a new filling. Also, I have had a few teeth on "watch" for years. I suppose that these are the teeth that the Premier dentist now wants to fill. I also heard the women mentioning "watch" while they were discussing my teeth, so I am wondering how CRITICAL it is to fill 3 other teeth. Which also is very expensive and time consuming. Furthermore, I dont appreciate the dentist telling me that I need to floss more. I floss at least four times a day, morning, night, and in between meals...I carry floss with me since I get bothered with food between my teeth. He blamed my cavities on a lack of flossing, but I think he also needs to consider that perhaps my bones/teeth are a little "weak" due to nursing...with my two little ones, I spent a number of years breastfeeding, and even though I took prenatal vitamens and try to keep calcium in my diet, after pregnancy/nursing I noticed changes in my teeth (this is also research-based). Lastly, the dentist kept referring "the textbook" when saying my cavities should be filled now instead of watched. That makes me concerned about his experience. Overall, I would have had a better experience if I hadnt been accused of not flossing and then told to fill 4 cavities early (one for cosmetic reasons, since polishing was not considered by the dentist).

Dr. Simpson and the staff at Oviedo Premier Dental get 5 stars from me! Being somewhat new to the Oviedo area, I really made an effort to find the best dentist in town - I succeeded. The staff in front were very friendly and made the check-in process fast and efficient - I never waited more than a couple of minutes. When I made it to the chair, Venus and June were fantastic. They were very friendly (you can never take that for granted - Ive had some nasty experiences in the past) and extremely competent with what they do. Dr. Simpson came in with a welcoming smile, dressed in his UF scrubs (beware FSU fans) - I went ro Rollins so no threat here :) The reason for seeing Dr. Simpson was that I had the pleasure of being informed that I would need a crown in order to preserve a tooth that was in bad shape. As one could imagine, I was pretty nervous, especially as people tend to be generous with offering up their horror stories - well Im going to switch it up and give you a great and postive experience! This was the most painless procedure I have ever experienced. I kept waiting for the pain to kick-in....nothing! Even the numbing process in the beginning, nothing! Dr. Simpson really knows what he is doing. He operates from the mindset of the patient - always aware of how I was feeling, checking in with me, being considerate with all movements, and most importantly, he was always patient (even though I kept subconsciously turning my head away, he would kindly ask me to bring it back towards him). Not once did I feel uncomfortable nor any pain. I had the procedure earlier this morning and felt so compelled to write this well deserved review! It is no surprise why Oviedo Premier Dental has 5 stars. Go see Dr. Simpson in Oviedo - they will take care of you!!!
