If I could give them no stars I would. I called to get an estimate on dog boarding because I had to go out of town. The staff seemed really friendly and helpful they gave me a reasonable quote and I made the appointment. On the day that my dogs had to be dropped off I had my husband do it because I had to go into work that day. My husband was supposed to pay a 50% deposit on one of my dogs and the other dog was paid for in full with a groupon that I had purchased. When my husband dropped the dogs off he was charged $95 for just one dog when I was originally quoted $72. They said that it was required for my dog to have a flee and tick dip. Well my dog did not have fleas or ticks so I didnt understand. If it were just a normal bath with flea and tick shampoo that would be fine but a flea and tick dip is for treatment of those pest. Still we had no choice but to continue with this place. Hours later when I was on the road out of town my husband received a call stating that they did a complimentary fecal test on my dogs and they had hook worms and needed to be treated immediately. Well my husband went along with it because he does not take them to the vet appointments to get care I do. Well when he hung up he explained to me what was said and they told him we would be charged an additional $100 for medication and administration. Well my dogs just had a fecal test 5 days before visiting this place and they were both dewormed so I had a hard time believing what was said. When I called back I was given completely different information and a different price that was cheaper than what the told my husband. I guess they assumed that because I did not furnish the fecal test that they did not have one done but they also did not ask for that paperwork so my husband being a husband didnt give them anything extra. Another hour later while I was sleeping in the car my husband received another call stating that now my dogs needed to be treated for heart worms and needed an additional exam. My husband not knowing agreed. When I woke up a few moments later told me what happened. Well my dogs again had just been to the vet 5 days before and were given an exam and treated with Heart Guard. They wanted an additional $178 to do this and told my husband they had to in order to stay well when I disputed that they said it was just a miscommunication. For the remainder of our vacation we did not receive any calls and when my husband picked the dogs up he asked about the baths that they clearly had not received and they didnt even know if they had done it or not. They had to ask several people if my dogs had been bathed. Turns out of course it did not happen but I paid for this unnecessary tick and flea dip and my groupon covered a bath that was not provided either. They said they would credit us and still asked my husband for a $70 payment and him being so ready to be done with the place he paid them for it. Well when I called to check up on the dogs he told me what was paid and I immediately knew we were overcharged. Right as I was about to call the place they did call me and say oops it was an accident but when I looked at the invoice it clearly stated 44 dollars was left with the credit from our prepaid bath so where they got $70 from is beyond me. I also still have yet to receive a refund and have to dispute it with my bank. When I finally go home to see my dogs I noticed that they looked thin and that I had an entire quart zip lock bag of food that they had not been given. Well I pre measured all of my dogs meals for they days I would be gone and they both had an entire day of food left that had not been given to them and they ate like they were starving when I went to feed them. Yesterday I noticed both my dogs sneezing and dry coughing turns out they both now have kennel cough and my dogs have been vaccinated because that was a requirement and they still got sick from this place because they must have had infected dogs around them or kennels that had not been properly cleaned and treated. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!

I have been going to Lakeside for about 9 years. During this time, I have had 6 different dogs that Ive taken there, and they have always treated us and our animals fine. I think Dr. Monica is a lovely woman and the staff has always been very friendly. There has been a pretty big turnover in second doctors though, so it is hard to form a relationship with them to only have them leave. They are on a major street, and one day one of my dogs got off leash while we were bringing him in for a checkup, and he headed right out in the middle of the street. I was sure he was going to be hit. My husband ran after him. I went in the office ready to just cry and one of the girls asked what was wrong. I told her my dog was loose and running in the street. They called out "LOOSE DOG" and more people than I could count flew out the door, all running to save my dog. They did. I dont believe for one minute that the people there dont care about animals. That being said, I agree with the reviews that complain about the prices. They are far too high. I brought in one of my dogs recently for knee surgery. Their estimate was about $2700. Years ago we had another dog who had knee sugery on both knees, and it cost us over $5,000. She is still fine, so I have no problems with the surgery. I told the office that my family has fallen on hard times, and could they please work with us. After 9 years, their only offer was to charge us an additional 25% and they would hold a 2nd check for a month. 25% for a month! WOW! Years of patronage dont count when you are talking about money. I asked friends on facebook for vet references, and found a winner. My dogs surgery cost $1600. They sent me pictures of him while he was in their hospital. They called me every day after I brought him home. It is with heavy heart that my family will no longer be patients at Lakeside. They wouldnt work with me over money, and now I wont work with them over money. :(

Worst experience ever! I was with Dr. Kelly Saporito. I went there because of the good reviews after moving from CA. My dog had been dripping urine. Saporito said she would have to rule out UTI first, which I agreed. She ordered urine samples, and to catch clean urine she needed to be injected fluid which costed $20 and wait 2hrs. So I paid and waited. My poor dog was in the cage of their back office for 2hrs for no reason. 2hrs later she said she couldnt catch urine due to not enough amount, and to come back the next day morning without letting her pea. What the hell? Shouldnt she have done that in the first place? That would have saved $20, 2 hrs of my time, and 2 hrs of my dogs suffering!!! And when I asked, isnt it a protocol that you check regular urine first to make sure she has UTI and then get clean sample?, they replied it was because she was 99% sure it was UTI that my dog was dripping urine and needed to find out the exact bacteria that was causing it. The clean urine sample test caused me $103. Guess what? My dog DIDNT HAVE UTI. Do not go there if you dont want unnecessary exams and costs! Please find a decent vet! She was so prideful. And the other day I needed my dog to get blood test. They took her to the lab, and didnt call me for 10 min. I could hear my dog screaming. When I finally ran out of patience and asked where my dog was, they said I have to pay first to get my dog. Does pediatricians hold your kids until you pay your bill? I just could not believe what I experienced in that horrible place! My old vet in CA did ALL the procedures including blood sampling and vaccinations in my presence, and never held my dog for hostage. I will NEVER EVER go to that place again! Do NOT trust these reviews!
