My mom has been in this hospital for a week as of July 20th, 2017. The only reason why she is there is because it was the closest hospital for the ambulance to transport her to and because this is her 4th time there in a year and a half and you figured that since they have her history that they would go back to see what has happened to her. Especially since she was there a month ago. I am giving a 1 star because the emergency room care and attention that my mom received and that I received as her daughter with the follow ups and finding out what was going on with my mom on that first day was outstanding. As a matter of fact even when they admitted her the two nurses that my mom had were great as well. But I wish that treatment continue. On day two my mom was not the same person she was the night before. She looked like a woman crippled in arthritis and I kept telling the nurses that my mom was not like that the day before. I said it over and over and over again. My mom was also not making any sense, she was confused, she was slurring. It concerned me that she was having a stroke. My mom was at Westside Regional in August of 2016 because of a stroke so you would think they would look in their computer system my moms history since she s been there 4 times in a year and a half. I kept telling them but no one cared to look back until my sister who is a House Supervisor at another hospital had to get really upset and demand to speak to the attending Doctor. When I told the doctor my moms history in that hospital all of a sudden they took action to decide what treatment to take. But before no concern for what I was saying...their response "With a UTI infection the patient becomes confused." It was very disheartening to see my mom looked the way she looked. After that it is disturbing that when the CT Scan was ordered it took more than 24 hours a CT Scan to be done and another half a day for results. Then when the MRI and MRA was ordered it took two days for those tests to be done and then get results was another 24 hours. Then a CT Angiogram was ordered more than 24 hours ago and as of me writing this review the test has not been done but they keep my mom from having breakfast and lunch now and by the way shes a diabetic. She has not had any food since yesterday at 6:00 p.m. By this time my mom is more confused, she repeats and asks the same questions and says the same things over and over again. They have discovered that she has a bleed but it seems like no one is really concern as to how that bleed is affecting her because they are taking their sweet time to take her to get these tests done. VERY Upsetting, Very frustrating! I will never never have my mom transported to this hospital again. Be Aware because even if you have been to this hospital in the past as far as with us the doctors or nurses do not look at history of care in that hospital which nowadays is so much easier with computers. Very disappointing!!!! I almost forgot to mention, my mom is unable to get out of bed and walk to the bathroom without assistance. Since she has a UTI infection it is very hard for her to hold her urine for a very long time . My mom spends time after time pressing the nurse call button for assistance to go to the bathroom and already 9 out of 10 times my mom has had urinate on the bed because no one comes to her assistance. They would usually take about an hour to come to check what she needs. She has had to have a bowel movement, Thankfully most of her bowel movements have occurred while my sister or I are there and we are able to help her walk with her walker to the bathroom. If we are not there by the time they finally get to my mom she ends up not feeling to go anymore which she becomes constipated. The other day the alarm on the IV went off and I timed it to see how long before a nurse comes in to check what is wrong with her IV it took a nurse 30 minutes to come to her room to check her IV. Very Disappointing!!!!

BEWARE! This has been the worst hospital I have ever been to. I had no choice because I was feeling very ill with a virus my daughter passed on to me that she had gotten from her school. The nurse put an IV in me and had blood all over me and my bed. Next, the guy who came to pick me up to take x-rays asked me "Does this I.V come out?" Im like "umm I dont know, you should know" and he yanked it out and said "Oh it does, okay follow me " I was in shock! Then I told them exactly how my daughter caught this HFMD virus from her school ( the director sent home a letter ) and passed it onto me. The Dr. comes in a says I will check for flu symptoms. Mind you, I dont have flu symptoms I had a rash on my foot, hands, and small sores in my mouth ( exactly what the virus gives you ) nasty, I know. Well, he ignored what I said and that was the first and last time I saw him the 2 seconds he came in. They checked me and said everything was okay. The nurse that was helping me asked me "What is hands, foot, & mouth disease" REALLY?!?!?! youve got to be joking! I wanted to run out of there!! While I was waiting hours to get discharged a patient had come in with a broken leg and had surgery done from another hospital. She wasnt feeling well so they told her to come to the nearest hospital, so she did. The doctor was in the room right next to me and I hear him saying " What an idiot! That patient is just plain stupid" I couldnt believe what I was hearing. If youre a doctor maybe you should give her advice, or just help her out. Shes there because she wasnt feeling well and she came cause she was comfortable enough to be taking care of by you and your team! No patient no matter what she be treated that way. Its a ZOO in there and I totally recommend traveling to another hospital if you could. Plus, a week later I see this poor old man standing at the corner holding a sign to not come to this hospital because they killed his wife in the ICU. ;( terrifying! Im glad were moving in the next few months.

My wife has had severe pain on her left side for a couple of days. Fearing that it might be something more serious she decided to her own to go to Westside Regional Emergency room. Well, when she got there, there was no available parking near the ER nor anywhere else close enough that she could park so she didnt have to walk with the pain that far. She pulled it over to the side of the road into the grass and put her hazards on. She walked into the ER and immediately got bombarded by a security guard saying that she couldnt park there and she had to move the car. She asked the security guard if she could please just sign in because she needed to be seen right away due to the excruciating pain. The guard told her that she cant sign in until she parks her car. Then the security guard snidely remarks "Well, you drove yourself here." yeah, it took the last bit of strength she had to drive to the ER. She couldnt even bend down to put on her socks and shoes that is how bad the pain is. We cant afford an ambulance because I am disabled (T/12 - L/1) complete spinal cord injury and she is a Per Diem home health nurse and we barely make ends meet, we cant afford a 500 dollar ambulance ride. Basically, the staff at Westside Regional Emergency room did not show any compassion for my wife and she went to Cleveland clinic where valet actually parked the car for her because they saw how much pain she was in and on top of that did it for free. I have gone to Westside Regional since my car accident in 1998, I have seen the deterioration of the quality of care that the staff over there gives. It has only gone downhill in the last two-three years, it was a great hospital to be at, but now I will never step foot inside of that hospital ever again.
