Tonight we lost our beloved Aphrodite. Aphrodite was a 197+ pound brindle English Mastiff. We got her from one of the top breeders in the country back in 2003 along with our beautiful male Mastiff Zeus. We lost Zeus to cancer three years ago. Aphrodite developed a sudden case of Pyometra almost two weeks ago and needed a very expensive emergency surgery to save her life. Anesthesia on a big dog is always a crap shoot. Dr.Liz saved our girl but we had to take her to another ICU clinic for "overnight" observation. The ICU clinic took one look at the folks with the expensive dog and saw dollar signs walking through the door. Within 20 min they were telling us how unstable our dog was and that it was going to take "the gold star treatment to save her". During a four hour period they shoved bolus fluids totaling almost seven liters into her helpless body diluting her bllod and electrolights to almost nothing. They took out a brand new IV cath that Dr. Hughs ha d JUST PLACED telling me "its not sterile". I wont even go into the abuse they heaped on her during the night while we were gone. They wanted to keep her for more treatment but being a professional "human nurse" I smelled a rat. We rushed her back to Dr. Hughs who immediately wanted to know "what happened". She sent over a stable dog who only needed to come out of anesthesia and got back one nearly dead from veterinary malpractice. For the past week she and her staff kept Aphrodite at all about animals tending to her day and night. Her techs and office staff came in 24 hrs a day tending to her, running every test in the book trying to save her. Twice we decided to put her to sleep but Dr.Liz pleaded to give her more time. We of course saw our beloved girl suffering as well as a huge bill building up. While we owned two Mastiffs we are a long way from well off. Finally tonight after trying everything to save her all involved decided it was best to end her suffering. My wife Cherie and I learned tonight how much Dr.Hughes and all of her staff had fallen in love with Aphrodite. Everyone there went totally to pieces. It was as though a member of their families had died. Then we got the dreaded bill. There was almost no bill. Dr.Hughs had paid for most of Aphrodites very expensive treatment out of her own till. So maybe the place isnt fancy and the building luxurious. I can see why. I know how much they charge compared to other vets and its a fraction. The people at All About Animals are truely angels if angels exist. Im a gruff old combat wounded Vietnam vet. But these people have restored my faith in human beings. On the other hand, I will have my revenge against the other clinic in Brandon Fl. I will see to it that every dog lover in the country knows about their theivery and abuse. I would walk through a forest fire in a gasoline soaked suit for Dr.Hughes and her staff. You need have no fear for your beloved pet at her clinic. Bob and Cherie Wisniewski

I would say this place is HORRIBLE! Ive heard of some illegal things they are doing as well from people who worked there and quit. Not only that but when I took my cat in for wheezing and we were told we could do a payment plan. We signed a form not to go over our budge and call if they needed to. They didnt. When my fiance came to pick her up they told us we had to apply for the payment plan online and that we had to pay the full amount or we werent getting her back. My fiance was thoroughly ticked off by this point. Then they told us she stopped breathing at one point, which Im not sure I even believe with all the crap that they pull. She wasnt having that difficult of breathing problems to just stop breathing. They did x-rays of her chest, lungs, and did and EKG(WHICH the vet said her heart sounded fine during the exam, so that was uncalled for.) He filled out a form to pick up the vets notes and paid and left. They said 2 weeks and they should be done.Then they were saying the vet must have taken them home because they couldnt even find our file and that the vet was on vacation. When the vet "returned" she said she NEVER takes files home and then when she couldnt find them she said, " I must have taken them home". Said shed have them faxed later that day and never did. We didnt get the papers for another 2 MONTHS! Which was ridiculous, and then we asked for the x-rays too and she said oh, I didnt know you wanted them. And we still dont have them. We were told our cat had asthma and some fluid in the lungs. Months down the road we find out our cat has cancer and the fluid in her lungs was a sign of the cancer. Last week, we had to put her down because she was so sick. I believe these people are in this business to manipulate and take money from people who are too naive to see whats going on. PLEASE stop going to them, for the sake of your PETS. If money is an issue the humane society and animal coalition of tampa are WAYYYYY better and cheaper. Dont let your animals end up like my cat. Please take the negative reviews for this place to heart. I would rate this place in the negatives if I could!

I took my cat to get spayed. They said its "protocol" to keep them over night, but that i could call between 3;30 and 4:30 to check on my baby. I called right at 3:30 and they said shed be ready to go home at 5:30pm. I was there right at 5:30. They brought "Waffle" to me and my daughters 9yrs and 1 1/2 handed me her in her carrier, and said, "shes still sedated, leave her in her carrier until she wakes up". Well I opened it when I get in the car to check on her and she just didnt look or feel right. Nor have I EVER heard of ANYONE sending home a cat while still under setation. I took viedo and pictures. Got home (about an hour) later took her out, she was stiff as a board, non-responcive, and cold. I waited for a couple more hours after I tried to warm her myself by a heating pad, and she still was un-responcive. Took her to the ER vet, and they said she was basicaly gone. I tried to talk to "so called vet" Elizabeth Hughes", the next day and she refused to give me a copy of the records from the surgery, told me I demanded my cat back, thats why she didnt keep her. If I demanded my cat back Im sure I would have had to sign something stating it was against her orders. Shes a liar, called me later that night, offered to write me a check for 250.00 and have me sign a discloser form. Basically to keep my mouth shut! I told her no, I wanted the truth of what happened to my baby, and why she was sent home in a catotonic state. She told me she was able to pick up her head and was responcive when she sent her home. NEWS FLASH..I have it all recorded and she never once picked up her head the whole time I had her home. PLEASE DONT BRING YOUR PET HERE. Its to late for mine, but you can save yours!!!!! theres so much more to this story, but this just happened on mon and tues 5/13/13 & 5/14/13, so im still in shock/hurt/anger/devistation...more will come out. Heck, you just might see me on the news trying to get this HORRIBLE place closed down.
