I cannot say I am entirely pleased with this practice. I took my dog in under an appointment for a general physical exam and to have a skin condition checked out. The doctor was an hour late (thus blowing off the appointment), and had no excuse for his tardiness. Worse, he proceeded to rush through the visit with my dog, checking out his skin condition and pretty much nothing else (no general physical exam). He dashed off some scrips, and did not even bother to come back to tell me the results of the heartworm test I had requested (I had to specifically ask the staff to tell me the results.) They certainly charged me for a full office visit, however. Later, when I discovered that filling one of the scrips was a problem and telephoned to figure out a solution, I was given a hard time and treated with an extraordinary amount of condescension both from the treating doctor, and from Cary Jackson, the practice owner. I suggest the attitude of this vet practice is that they are doing you a favor by providing services to you that you pay for. If you like that sort of thing, go here. If you prefer a more professional approach, you may wish to keep looking.

Surprisingly high ethics found here. Switched to the Animal Clinic of Brandon a few months ago because they were considerably less expensive for the blood glucose curves done periodically for our diabetic Lhasa Apso. We recently scheduled our Shitzu in for a routine dental cleaning and were very pleasantly surprised when the Clinic told us our dog really did not require the cleaning. They could have taken our baby and done the cleaning as we anticipated but declined because they said the teeth were in too good of a condition to warrant the anesthesia risk at his 12 year old age despite his excellent health. We do brush our dogs’ teeth every night but did see some plague and wanted to ensure our baby did not develop dental or gum problems in the future. We have never had a Vet turn our $ away. We have been pleased with the service we received from this practice in the past and now know we don’t have to worry about being gouged in the future. Thank you Animal Clinic of Brandon for your ethical treatment. Also, on every visit your staff has been courteous and friendly, a pleasure to work with. You have earned our future business and trust.

Ive been a client at Animal Clinic of Brandon for years now. I have multiple cats and a dog. There are 3 doctors that work there and all of them are highly competent, dedicated, and sincere. Ive have a cat right now that is sick and they are working very hard to help her get better. Cats that have been sick in the past are still with me now because of the hard work provided by the doctors, techs, and staff. When I had to put one of my dogs to sleep they were all very compassionate; they let me take as much time as I needed to say goodbye to the dog Id had for almost 15 years. In the end I lost her to cancer and the whole time we were trying to treat her the doctors took their time, explained everything to me and, in the end, made the whole ordeal easier to handle. I have the utmost respect for Dr. Jackson, Dr. Scott, and Dr. DeShields. Even though Ive had to say goodbye to many beloved pets over the years everybody at the Animal Clinic of Brandon has always treated me with kindness and respect and I have never had a bad experience there. I cant think of a better place to take my pets.

We brought our puppy here because of a skin condition. On our first trip we were told he appeared to have mange and the Vet did a scraping which he said was "positive". At that time I brought to the Vets attention a marble sized lump on the back of my pups leg and he promptly dismissed it. We continued on treating the mange as prescribed with medication. After reading on the internet that puppies sometimes have compromised immune systems and that an infection could lower the immune systems defenses enough to allow mange (mites) to take over when normaly it wouldnt I questioned the new Vet we saw on our third appointment. I brought the lump to his attention and told him what I had learned. He precribed an antibiotic for the infection as indicated by the swollen lymph gland and that was it. No more mange. Were they just trying to play the "mange" diagnosis simply for profit i.e. expensive mange dips etc? You decide. We wouldnt go back or refer anyone to them!

ACOB has treated my fur babies for over 10 years. All the doctors here are wonderful. The staff is willing to answer questions, no matter how many. In response to the written prescription reviews from other people, the clinic explained to me the reason they dont deal directly with 3rd party Rx groups like petmeds etc. Is because ACOB cant verify or guarantee the product. They write the Rx and have a release form so people can price shop as they please. Unlike other vets in the area they actually care for the animals health. My cousin was a victim of 3rd party Rx group, I think Foster and Smith. She received supposed heartworm prevention from them and the packaging was in Chinese... Anyways, I will continue to come to ACOB. The prices are fair, I think. Then again, I wouldnt want "cheap" care for my baby. Never let cost be your only deciding factor.

Friendly staff and a well maintained facility. Every place you go has good and bad, I have had only one "bad (if you want to call it that)" experience here and it was only due to being advised to buy a product that I ended up not needing Again, it was a suggestion based on we thought was the issue, no one made me buy anything. It was a shampoo, nothing big. Beyond that though all 3 of my dogs have been treated well and taken care of. The staff treats every pet as if it were theirs. They reach out and check in on your pet after a surgery, they call and remind you if medications are running low or if your pet is up for a booster shot or just a check up. They go the extra mile to make sure you and your pet are comfortable and taken care of. I absolutely love this Clinic and will continue to use them.

Spiteful staff care only about money. I needed flea medication for my dog and they directed me to their premium shopping portal. They dont carry flea meds in the office. Their portal was expensive, so I found the exact same medicine at 1800 pet med considerably cheaper. This staff refused to fax the prescription for the flea meds, instead making me leave work and go to pick up the prescription myself, which turns out to be useless because 1800 pet meds needs the vet to Fax the prescription. This office refused to do that. They dont care about the health of animals, they care about the money they get from pet owners. Im pulling all of my animals from this vet to a veterinarian that cares about their oath for animal care more than their wallet.

stay away from here, they like to pad the bill, they gave one of my dogs 3 rabies shots in one year, they board healthy dogs with sick dogs in the same room, i brought in a puppy vet said it was 3 yrs old by looking at his teeth, he was only 8 mo. old. the lady behind the desk has a problem, my dog was gaining weight she said was feeding to many treats what a wack job she is, took the dog to another vet and blood work was done and the dog had a low t level, gave pills and she has lost 7 lbs, in 6 mo, will never go back,, watch your bill look at it close, they like to push the kennel cough shot that is not needed, talk to a real animal boarding place and they will tell you the same, stay away
