Our cat Booger was hit by a car. After we brought her to the emergency vet we brought her to the Animal Hospital of Seminole for Surgery and they went above and way beyond our expectations. We were calling a bunch of vets trying to find a good priced place, not the cheapest one because we are talking about a major surgery to remove her front right leg, but a fairly priced place. When we called the Animal Hospital of Seminole, they were so friendly and helpful over the phone and their pricing was better than most places. Not only was it a decent price, but, while every other place quoted me a huge range ("anywhere between $600-$1500"), The Animal Hospital of Seminole asked me a TON of questions & based on my answers quoted me a price with a range of $50. Their quote also included everything needed, whereas everybody else quoted me just for the surgery itself, the consult & any extra things needed (such as hospital stay, IV, pain meds, etc.) were not included in the $600-$1500. When we brought her in the following Monday we realized that we had made the right choice. The waiting area has a home feel and very cozy, but we werent in the waiting area long at all because they helped us almost immediately and had us in the back room waiting for the vet. We have dealt with a bunch of vets before, and normally the vet tech comes in and tells you what the plan is quickly and leaves us to wait. Not this place, the vet herself came in & she was so nice and sweet, answered every question we had with honesty, and just made us feel good about everything. We did not really have the extra money for the overnight care after surgery, so we wanted to pick her up after and care for her at home. When we have done this before, most of the time we are "looked down on" but when we told the vet, she made us feel great about it and told us all the instructions to make sure we would care for her right. After the surgery they called us to let us know everything went well & Booger was doing great. She told us to come when they closed at 5pm so they would have her and watch after her right up until they closed since we did not pay for the overnight care. That was incredible, most places if you dont pay for the overnight care, they want your animal out ASAP. Then they brought our cat out and the vet came in with her and told us what went on, and gave us the run down on the surgery. They also gave her a strong antibiotic shot that we did not pay for and an IV during surgery so she would be comfortable and safe during surgery which again we did not pay for. She is all healed and doing great being a tri-ped. The vet has even called a couple times to see how she was and answer any questions we had. I would never go anywhere else with my animals. This is the best and most friendliest place I have ever seen, heard of, or been too. I highly recommend this Vet to anyone looking for a vet. I can not stress how much they care about animals. They arent the type that is in it only to make a dollar, they actually, really care! After the amputation surgery we brought Booger back to get her stiches out & for a check up, & we noticed her tail was turning black. We pointed it out to the vet & instead of saying, "We gotta take that off right away! Oh, & its going to be an extra couple hundred for that surgery." she instead inspected the tail & told us to watch out for it, that it MIGHT have to come off if it gets any worse, but she would feel better about waiting & just keeping an eye on it. What vet do you know of that says to wait & make sure instead of just cutting it off & then charging you for it? I know our other vet would have made it seem like it needed to come off right away for the good of the animal & then made us pay a crazy amount of $$ for it. In conclusion: BEST VETINERARY CARE EVER!

If you have an endless supply of money, this vet is for you! I have been with this vet for a year and a half, and can honestly say that I have spent $1000s there. They are very casual about the tests they are running such as the blood draw and urinalysis, etc. and run tests without letting you know..but then you get hit with a charge in the several $100s!! My cat was in today to test her for hyperthyroidism. They dont bother to tell you that the bloodwork for that is double what regular bloodwork costs. I was expecting the typical $100 like Ive paid for my dog...but instead they charged me $212 just for the bloodwork. I just spent $340 and have no answers as to what is ailing my cat. I can also share that my 14 year old dog was in in September to have an ear cyst removed, and have a bunch of moles removed. I dropped her off first thing in the morning as requested and was told they would call when she was out of surgery. I finally called at 1:30, after hearing nothing from the vet, and they said she was just about to go into surgery. So she sat there for HOURS before they did the procedure! I was told to pick her up at 5:30, and lets just say she was a trainwreck! Bleeding open wounds, blood dripping from her ear where the cyst was removed, and her entire body covered with burns from the mole removals. She was in a lot of pain, and should not have been released to me in that condition. And I paid almost $500 for that! It was way too hard on her for her age. It looked like she had been burned with cigarettes all over her body, and her ear was FULL of blood! Some of the wounds were huge and should have been stitched. Had I known It would be so traumatic for her, I wouldnt have done the mole removals. I would expect the vet to know that, but he made it sound like it wouldnt be a big deal. I will be finding a different vet. This vet is outrageous with their prices, and they dont give you ANY indication of what kind of charges youre accruing until you get to the counter. If its an exorbitant amount, they should give their client a heads up, and Ive always been very clear that I want to keep the cost down. They dont care, and its all about the money there.

Animal Hospital of Seminole has provided exceptional care for my dog!! My dog suffers from the worst of allergies and the vets at AHS worked their magic and made adjustments to her medications and make suggestions which have allowed my dog to live itchy-free. I read another review complaining that the vets of AHS did not explain to that customer the specifics of whoever their insurance company was. My insurance company is Embrace and like all insurance companies it can be confusing but you have to read your policy. Im not going to go to my doctors office and have them explain my insurance to me! Im going straight to my insurance company! Bottom line...this is the best veterinary clinic in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area!!
