First I want to say that I have had dogs my entire life and Ive never had to pay sooo much money for the vet as I have been for this specific hospital. They are very profit driven Animal Hospital and they really do not care about your animals. Every time I have gone in for whatever my dogs may need I see a different doctor, I believe I have now seen them all but none of them remember me or my animals ever. One of the worst experiences ever was when I brought in my puppy Rosie, she is a Rottweiler. She wasnt even 1 years old yet when I brought her in for a check up. She was already 70 lbs, the vet instructed me to place her on the small examination table in the room that was a little bit higher than waste high,I told the vet that this would be pretty difficult considering how heavy she is and the fact that she was already nervous. I did as the Vet instructed me I began lifting Rosie onto the table she got really nervous once she was high in the air and squirmed. Right when that happened I lost my balance and began to sort of fall over I was about to let Rosie down. Then the Vet lunges at us trying to grab the dog out of my hands. Naturally the dogs reacted. She turned her head in his direction and growled. He quickly pulled away in fear. They then decided that it would be better if they treat her on the ground (Which should have been the case to begin with). My pup was already very uncomfortable and stressed and just not happy. She doesnt like the vet as most dogs dont but adding the lifting and lunging made it even worst. The vet quickly checked her and left a few minutes later the vet tech brought my Rosie out. He didnt even come out to explain how it went, or what the best course of treatment would be the next time we come in. He just disappeared. They cleared an open section at the checkout away from everyone else and treated us like we were unwanted. Once we checked out I already felt like they werent really in the business of caring for animals but rather in it purely for profit. The next time we came in I realized Rosie had been marked as a bad dog in her charts. Immediately they tried talking me into putting Rosie to sleep while they check her the next time. Im not going to pay to have my dog sleep while they check her! She is not an aggressive pooch, shes my little girl and she is the sweetest dog you could meet. I agreed to put a mussel on her to at least make the vets happy she had her treatment and we once again were checked out way far away from everyone else even though she was completely docile. Needless to say Im not happy with the way they treated my dogs or me for that matter. There is no compassion or real human interaction they just do theyre job charge you for unnecessary stuff that they make seem to be absolutely necessary and that is all. If this is the type of animal hospital you want to do business with then go ahead and go the North Florida. I have never left without paying less then 200$ dollars a visit even if there is nothing wrong with my dog. And they require you come in every six months for a check up so that they can tell you there is nothing wrong and charge you more.

NFAH is the best veterinary practice I have ever dealt with. From the receptionists to the pharmacy (especially Michael), the entire staff is so dedicated to what they do. The place is immaculately clean, and has all of the state-of-the-art equipment. Its also important to me that they are staffed 24/7 (not OPEN 24/7, but STAFFED to take care of pets that are staying there for boarding or procedures), so that I know my dogs will never have a crisis when there arent any vets around to take care of them. My dog Sadie had her TPLO surgery done in January to repair a torn cruciate ligament, and her surgeon--Dr. Simmons--did an excellent job. He has been so devoted to ensuring she is comfortable and healing with as little pain as possible, and he made sure to keep me updated while Sadie stayed at the hospital for the first few days post-op. Every time I called in with a question or concern, I either was able to speak with our vet right away or got a call back within an hour or two. Dr. Simmons even called me from his home phone one night to let me know how Sadie was doing. They also charged us a good deal less than the original price quote for the surgery, which means a lot to us as my boyfriend and I are both full time law students. Ive had really negative experiences at other vets and NFAH has totally turned that around. I will recommend NFAH to anyone I can. Thank you Dr. Simmons! Sadie is usually very scared around vets but loves NFAH :) I also have to mention how AWESOME Brittney is (the rehab tech)! Sadie saw Brittney twice a week for five weeks, to recover from her TPLO surgery, and what a change weve seen in her. Brittney has done such great work with her and Sadie has had such a happy, speedy, easy recovery. Sadie is usually shy with strangers but LOVES Brittney and her swimming time! And the ginger snaps she keeps on hand for her. ;) Thank you so much Brittney; Sadie misses her swims and she especially misses seeing you! Also, Leah is the best groomer we have ever dealt with. Sadie was in her lap giving kisses and snuggling just a few minutes after we met her, which is not normal for our little chicken. Thank you for being so good with her, Leah! And lastly, thank you so much--again--to Dr. Valentine and Dr. Simmons for taking such good care of our girl and helping her having such a great recovery. We love this clinic and will recommend you to anyone we can. Sadie is now 12 weeks post-TPLO and can finally run and play with our other Aussie again. Everything we went through was so worth it to see her happy and healthy. Now that we have a new pup, Kali is also a big fan of NFAH :) Thanks everyone!

Our visit was a true blessing! We were vacationing from the Columbus Ohio area when we desperately needed help for our 13yr old golden retriever, Jackson. We live where there are great vets and animal hospitals readily available 24/7; MedVets or The Ohio State University are both state of the art; were spoiled--and this very high standard is common to us... We had a tough time finding anyone in the beach area where we were staying who specialized in neurology, or any specialty for that matter... Finally, after several hours of searching, the Univ. of FL recommended the North FL Animal Hospital to me. I called them and explained the issues we were having, and the doctor who specializes in spine disorders, Randy Fullerton, wanted to see us immediately.. We drove 2+ hours to get there, we all stayed way past normal hours on a rainy Friday night, to get not-so-great news about Jacksons condition. At that point, at least we knew what we were dealing with.. There wasnt a hopeful long-term solution, but there was a "maybe?" for the short-run.. We tried it, and Dr. Randy was there every step of the way and continued to follow up with us daily. He was even in communication with our regular Vet in OH, which helped a lot. (we rely on our vet to help us make difficult decisions..) Dr.Fullerton was extremely patient, understanding, and experienced; he explained all options in detail and helped us make decisions which were right for our personal situation. If youre looking for thorough care, skill, and accessibility this place is GREAT!! Its not your ordinary vet clinic--they are much more highly skilled than what youd ordinarily find. I really didnt care about their pricing and I didnt do a price check when it came time to try to save my Jacksons life, Im guessing these folks arent the least expensive.. but, they are QUALITY!!! Im a believer in "you get what you pay for".. And, when youre talking about a family members healthcare.. Id pick quality over cost any day!! For what we had completed, I thought their costs were very reasonable. During our stay, we saw and wasted time and money visiting a couple of quacks before we found North FL Animal Hospital. I wish I had gone to North Florida Animal Hospital first! Dr. Randy Fullerton is wonderful!!! And, this rating is coming from someone who is spoiled with the highest level of vet care available! If you have the pleasure of being able to work with him, good for you! He is a great guy and an even better doctor!!
