While visiting from Oregon, I needed to refill my blood pressure meds. After being re-directed to 4 different desks, and told that I was a "Travelling Vet" and needed to get refills from my facility (in White City Oregon). I called the patient advocate and got dropped before reaching her. Redialed and was dropped while holding. Redialed and got msg that heavy case loads would result in a 24 to 48 hour response. I called my Excellent VA Clinic in White City Oregon (its about a 100 yrs old) Staff responded " Will overnight them today". I thanked her for making my experience incredibly simple and pleasurable. She cheerfully responded "Just doing my job". I beg to differ. She was making sure the client got the same level of care that the Vet gave his country. Most of the staff at the Tallahassee facility were pleasant. (Most) Is it true that a "Travelling Vet" can not walk into a VA pharmacy and refill a current prescription? (Losartin/for High BP) I would understand if it was an easily abused Narcotic. If Sam Walton were alive he could give you a seminar. If I had been in distress and without an address or cell phone, this could have been a real crisis. There are Vets out here that depend on you to "Just do your job". I love my VA benefits. This is supppose to be a newer facilitythat serves N. Florida, Georga etc. However services for specialty clinics non existent at facility. Pain clinic in Gainesville Fl, Pulmonary In Lake City.! Why could they not have built a larger facility and brought the other clinics to 1 location instead of sending patients ( vets) all over half the state ? If you have other options use them first.

The most inconsiderate group of people Ive ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I always feel like Im an inconvenience to them. Federal employees at their best. The have smiles and friendly attitudes only among themselves but not with the veterans in which they serve. Sad

Needed blood pressure meds, signed in, saw nurse than doctor. System quick, got my Meds fast.
