I had an unpleasant experience in the ER but a very good experience with one of the orthopedic doctors in the sports injury clinic. I had fallen and twisted my knee. I came by ambulance to the ER because I could not walk. The ER doctor in charge said that I had a contusion and needed an ace bandage. Since I was having trouble walking, they let me try walking with a walker but when I was leaving they were telling me to leave with the ace bandage only. I asked for a brace and walker which the doctor signed for via one of the nurses working with me. Two to three weeks later, one of the orthopedic sports injury doctors, the ER doctor had not given me any after care instructions, said that I had sprained my medial collateral ligament (MCL) and had bursitis in my hurt knee. He was extremely helpful in telling me what to do to help fix my problem. I would give the ortho doctor a 5. The Er doctor would get a 2 or less. I am reluctant to ever go to Miami Valley Souths ER. Care - from the doctor - was not good. Very painful injury was not taken seriously.

I have never been so impressed with the care and quality of service I received at at hospital than what I have at Miami Valley ER in Centerville. My Dr., the team of nurses and the intake staff, provided the best service and made what was a stressful trip to the ER, a model of what healthcare in the US should look like. Everyone who took care of me, did so because they actually cared. I thank all of them for not only taking care of my stitches, but acting and treating their patients with the kindness and bedside manner you could only hope for. I think great people and great efforts need to be recognized, and the team of medical professionals at who took care of me today, will always be in my thoughts. - who would think a trip to the ER would be the best part of your day. No, I do not work for the hospital, nor do I have a personal connection to those who helped me today, this is just an honest review I felt needed after an injury and giving kudos to those who deserve it. Horrible. Outpatient was great .once I got admitted and to a room the service was awful .Saturday day nurse and put were not so helpful. Never once checked my heart or lungs. Was never offered a bed bath. Toothbrush or comb.had to ask for something every time to wash my hands. Never once got me up see if I could tolerate being on my foot. The night shift I had was better. On Sunday when I was discharged the same day nurse from Saturday said she would help me get readytogohome.would pack my things for me.she walked out brought back discharge papers for me to sigh.told me to make sure I got up and tried to walk every 2 hours.really you didnt do it in the hospital.didnt keep the blood clot machine on my leg half the time during the day.always on at night. Well my husband came and he got me packed up. After signing my discharge papers never saw the nurse again.only went there because I had too because of insurance.never again. My doctor by the way was fantastic.

Very quick to be processed through the ER! Rooms are modern and very nice. Staff was attentive, polite and pleasant to deal with. If you HAVE to be in a hospital, why not make your visit a relatively nice one and come here. Edit: Heads up. If you are admitted here and need to be transfered to Miami Valley Main for a MRI then DO NOT BELIEVE the promises that they will transport you back. 9:30PM at night on the first really cold snowy day of the year with only a light jacket and they attempted to hand me a bus token to get back to Miami South. Really? The excuse was that is their policy as long as public transportation is running this is what they do because of costs. Had to call South and complain before a (shared third-tier) cab was provided.

I went in for surgery this morning and was extremely impressed! Everyone from the receptionist to the RNs, medical assistants and surgeons were extremely caring, thoughtful and very personable. The explanation of the procedures, the use of the anesthesia, effects, and any complications were thoroughly explained. After the surgery was finished, they again, explained everything as well as made sure we knew how to take care of things at home. This is by far the most impressed Ive been with a medical facility and their staffing. I would recommend this hospital to anyone that would need surgery of any type. If you need work done and want to feel like "more than a patient" this is the hospital for you. Thanks again Miami Valley South!

The only excellent comments on here must be employees or staff that work there...Get ready to open up your wallets. Yes some of the people are nice, yet you get charged for the air you breath to looking at the walls. Then you are told you need to have test and procedures, that later you find out , you never needed...yet you better pay up...What a scam....and im not talking about a couple of hundred dollars either...........Go somewhere else. People who are accountable for what they do and dont scam you for all your money.

My mom had wrist surgery here today. All of the staff from check-in rep and pre-op nurses to the anesthesiologists, surgeon, and post-op nurses were fantastic! Clean facility, efficient operations, great communication, and a friendly staff that answered all questions and provided excellent patient care. Especially grateful for Dr Al-samkari and Dr Nalabolu for their great bedside manner and patience in answering questions. Nurses Julie, Pam, Kourtnie, and Angie were amazing!

This review will be short and (not so) sweet: EVERYONE was rude during my ER visit. All workers, nurses, campus police, the doctor, the check in lady and the janitor I needed directions from. Ive heard that due to the expansion of the hospitals, the rules for employees have become smothering so, in one hand, I dont blame them, corporatism has single-handedly ruined business in America. On the other hand, its your job to make me feel comfortable in my rough state...

Doctors and nurses are great. I came to Miami Valley from about 45 minutes away. I had been dealing with health issues for about a year and area doctors were little help. I forget my doctors name but he was determined to figure out what was wrong with me and I appreciate him for that. Now i know what is wrong with me thanks to the initial doctor at South and my doctors at the main Miami Valley campus when I was transferred.

I just had minor surgery (7/18/17) at Miami Valley South hospital. Even though I am highly anxious about IVs (more than the actual surgery), the nurse (Kristin or Kristina?) was fantastic and friendly. She put me at ease, almost immediately. All the other staff I encountered was equally helpful and comforting. Thank you for making it as relaxing as possible!

I gave birth to my daughter when the maternity center was a few months old, it was amazing! The staff was incredible, usually I find something wrong with atleast one nurse unfortunately but I didnt feel unwelcome or mistreated one time! The staff is incredible, if I have another child I know where Im going to deliver!
