To be honest our hopes were high when my wife began planning to see a doctor about the issues she was having with her back. She was hopeful to find relief for the pain shes been in for over a year and yet she was not given any helpful advice or offered any relief. The doctors have great credentials but terrible bedside manner. They feel as if dealing with the patient is beneath them and they are quite frankly rude and uncaring. My wife went in after having x-rays and MRIs done and the doctor didnt even pay attention to the work the nurses and staff put in and instead proceeded to insult my wife and act as if it were here fault that her back was hurt. After finally convincing him to at least check the MRI and x-ray he did admit that surgery would help however he wouldnt perform the surgery, and if he did hed only do a spinal fusion which is not the option my wife wanted to discuss. However Dr. Refai didnt want to hear her opinion instead he told her to lose some weight and it might help, he told her that she should do the paleo diet because another doctor he knows has had success. Wow, what an astute statement by this prestigious doctor, I guess his expertise is also in nutrition and diet as well. I didnt know he was so well versed in all human care. He was arrogant and didnt even care to truly discuss what the patient wanted, only to tell her that if she would get pain management he might help later. Completely terrible experience. Upon follow-up visits waited hours after the appointment only to be patronized and left waiting exorbitant amounts of time. Yes this place may have all the credentials but I feel that they dont truly care for their patients.

I cannot give enough positive feedback for this hospital. Dr. Heller, the nurses, and all of the staff that cared for me were all top notch. Here I felt like a human being/ patient vs. a number. A very different experience than I had last year at a different hospital with a different doctor. Turns out - that first surgery actually made me worse. My last three years have been filled with terrible pain and very limited mobility and a pretty crappy quality of life. Dr. Heller and his staff carefully and thoroughly evaluated me, performed additional tests that my other doctor did not to determine the problem/diagnosis. I was clearly informed about what to expect during the operation, the risks, and the work that I needed to do post-op to make sure I healed properly. One thing they do which is really nice for your loved ones waiting - is inform them hourly on what is happening during your operation. I was up walking the day after my operation with the physical therapy team - who are also amazing! Today I am 3 weeks post-op and I am pain free (minus the surgical pain that is quickly healing) and can stand/walk without the pain I had for the past three years. The care I received at this hospital was tremendous. And while I hope I never have to go back, I am thankful I could be treated with such wonderful and caring people. I wish I could give them 6 stars!

Dr McGillivary was a silly little clown to be perfectly frank. My caretaker was there with my medical folder when he walked in and he looked intimidated already. Shes a nice older lady and Im disabled. What was a very simple issue for my following Dr after him to diagnose was just a joke to Dr McGillivary who said he refused to do a simple test that Dr from a highly reputable facility had recommended. But this McGillivary heel assumed he knew me just based on how I looked and treated me like a fraud because Im younger perhaps when in fact the fraud appears to be him. The Dr I went to after him found issues requiring surgery to fix, but to McGillivary it was unimportant to even properly ATTEMPT to diagnose me. Thanks for the wasted time and extra years of agonizing pain that couldve been prevented. A "grown" man intimidated by an old lady with a folder... Unbelievable. How somebody can look them self in the mirror, call himself a Dr and a man after taking all that money yet treating a suffering human being that way is unthinkable

Treated me very nice...from the time I checked in to when I left, the staff was nothing but friendly and accommodating. At one point I ordered food and it took over 2 HOURS and additional phone calls to get it...in fact it arrived so late, I was checking out and they had to put it in a to-go container. other than that, no complaints over the service and accommodations. I had a hip replacement w Dr. Erens

Almost perfect. They forgot my discharge physical therapy instructions, but did a great job replacing my knee. I handled physical therapy myself and was back on the golf course 6 weeks later. Dr. Erens is a great surgeon. And their hospital is top notch. The only way to go.

Surgery performed on 26 Feb 2014. Very nice hospital, excellent staff and very tasteful food. All staff were very aware of reducing bacteria. Very pleasant experience.
