After seeing the nurse practitioner, who (of course) wrote prescription on top of what I was already taking, I made an appointment with a counselor. Now, I have experienced trauma, have a PTSD diagnosis, and am 52 years of age. Tonya, the one making the appointment, either didnt care about any of those things or didnt check my file. She had a particular counselor in mind (come to find out theyre trying to build her caseload), and I had to take an appt inconvenient to me. When I read her profile the night before my appt, I saw that shes experienced in child and adolescent counseling!!!! I called to cancel and told Tonya that I would NOT pay their fee, and rescheduled for the next day with a different counselor. Fast forward 24 hours....and Im in the ER at Waterman for unrelated issues (the docs think). I called to cancel that appt. This week I got a bill for $50 in the mail. Guess whos gonna let her attorney husband answer this one for her? Rudest, most presumptuous and arrogant office staff of any staff in any medical office I have ever been associated with. I have need of serious, long-term psychotherapy, and that one woman lost her company several months of weekly visits from me, at least.

I am a mother of 4 kids (10,8,2,1). My 8 yr old was in need of real help for his concentration and focus as well as memory issues. I currently homeschool my kids and our schedule is super busy and sometimes things come up like illnesses and life situations that are out of our control. This business does not have a FAIR business policy for cancelling appointments. I understand if the person cancels the same day that it can be challenging to find a person to fill that spot, but when they charge you $50 for a no show fee even if you give them plenty of time and they dont even provide an after hours number or answering service for the weekends or evenings that is considered UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICES!! As a student pursing her medical degree I believe their actions are unethical and show a deep lack of concern and CARE for their patients making it a cold and immoral business. If they cant make discussions for the better interest of their patients then they cant make wise decisions for you as an individual.

I have had nothing but great care and consideration from this practice. Julie in the front office is exceptional, we have no problems calling in for refills, and when our doctor left the practice, our new psychiatrist took the time to get to know my child as opposed to simply picking up where the other left off. I am a registered nurse, and worked in a juvenile residential treatment program for 6 years. I know enough from that experience to know what the standard of care should be, and what treatments and medications are appropriate for Axis I and Axis II diagnoses. I also know that any practice will charge a cancellation fee. It is unfair to assert that it is an unfair practice to do so. The physician or therapist loses money when there is no time to fill cancelled appointments slots.

I scheduled an apt 2 months ago with Dr. Torres. I got a voice mail last week asking to update my insurance if needed. But I didnt need to. So Monday I got a apt confirmation call. This morning at 10:28 am I got a voice mail saying my 11:30 apt had been cancelled because I needed a 30 minutes slot and not a 15 minute slot. Obviously THEIR mistake. But it was apparent from the office staff not damn was given. After I told them that I had taken the day off work to make that apt and that I needed meds I was offered to be waitlisted for tomorrow. (HELLO! I have a JOB, you know the one I took a day off work from). Mental health is a serious condition, ashame the staff and possibly Dr. Torres dont take it seriously. Absolutely pathetic.

This ratings scale needs negative numbers so staff and services like Advanced Behavioral Health can be properly rated. The receptionist obviously isnt there for her secretarial skills. Maybe some oral skills but they arent telephone related. She couldnt even pull off an email, and got rude about it with me,suggesting I should go to the website and print the REQUIRED forms myself. And the doctor is obviously getting a kick back from the pharmaceutical company,he wrote thee most expensive drug available . I waited outside after telling the front desk ornament that I wanted it changed. No cars came or left yet I was told that the doctor left. Not what you would expect from mental health practitioners.

Dr Maria Nordarse is a reckless and unethical "therapist." It appears her goal is to align herself with the paying client and alienate loving and supporting family members as she systematically invites family members and makes erroneous accusations placing blame on them creating division. She oddly laughs at people she invites to appointments, then chastizes others who make a nervous chuckle in sessions. Her goal is not to facilitate healing or guide sessions but to control, label and divide family members. This person should not be practicing in family dynamics! Do not put your family through this torture.

I was concerned about the negative reviews on Yelp. I then spotted a 5 star review written by Luis Torres here. That name rang a bell, so I went back to one of the previous websites I had been researching on. No wonder he gave The Advanced Behavioral Health Center 5 stars, he is listed as the contact person for this center on the Psychology Today website. Wow, what a conflict of interest! I would discount his review if I were you, just like I did!!! Look below at all the 1 star reviews and you will see that a lot of them reference a Dr. Torres!!! You could not pay me to go to this place!

I took my son there and after the first few minutes Dr. Torres stopped talking to him and talked to me. 3 minutes with the patient 27 minutes with the parent at the end he prescribed pills for my son without doing a full assessment of the patient. If you want dope for your kid from an uncaring practice with rude staff. This is the place for you. My son never took the prescription we went to Orlando to get real help and he is doing great with a real therapist who talks to him and not me.

Dr. DeLeon is very overbooked and always running a little late but hes a good guy. Office staff are generally helpful and kind, occasionally theres a bad apple or a good person having a hard day/week. My sons therapist Dr. Mobed has been wonderful for him. The only complaints I have are outside of their control like insurance regulations, the increasingly unmanageable traffic in the area etc.

I had an appointment for 10 am. took the day off for the appointment. When I got there I was told there was no appointment and Maria had my time slot blocked off. They offered to schedule me for the next day.

Dr deleon would not shake my hand. Told staff not to reschedule me. Go somewhere else he is not a kind man, and a very poor doctor if that is what you would like to call him.

My son has been going here for several months. Dr. Maria has been great. She always confers with me on any possible treatment and what should be worked on.

Rated again with my second email account to bring ratings down more for my disgust of the people running this business.
