As a medical professional myself... I experienced horrible service. I had swollen lymph nodes, fever up to 102, a sore throat with white patches and aches and pains for a week.. it wasnt viral..and I knew it. I went on a Saturday night desperate for antibiotics.. After waiting for over an hour.. They sell me on taking throat cultures to confirm if it was strep or a flu. They stuck a stick up my nose, then down my throat. They came back and said it was negative for both. The doctor came back and said I just had an allergy induced cold and to keep drinking fluids. He refused to give me anything. I left there in tears. I am in the medical field and I told him that I knew there were more than 2 possibilities. Just because I didnt have strep, it didnt mean that any other bacterial infection was ruled out! He didnt waiver. He told me the white patches could be viral and my lymph nodes blown up like tennis balls meant nothing, essentially...and SO after 150 bucks.. I spent another day with the same symptoms just progressively getting worse (I had already been out of work for one week) I had no insurance at the time cause of my new job.. and short of telling the doctor my bank balance and the fact that I was driving a 60k car and had cash to pay for whatever was necessary to make me better..he seemed to care more about my expenses and whether or not I could pay, than my health. Another 2 days went by as I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt.. I continued to get worse..and finally went to Aloma Urgent Care. They took me in immediately. The doctor took one look at my throat and said "you OBVIOUSLY have an infection!" He told me he was glad I got a second opinion because it was not going to get better with "fluids" He gave me antibiotics and within 24 -48 hours I was noticeably improved!!!! That week I got a call from Centra Care following up, and I told them that THAT physician was terrible and didnt know the obvious signs of an infection...I gave them the whole story. The woman assured me the manager would call me......I never heard from them again, no follow up, no manager ..I am pretty sure they took my complaint and threw it in the trash. I will NEVER go here again. THUMBS down to Centra Care and its FH affiliation. You guys almost killed me. Good thing I am SMART enough to get a second opinion!! They definitely didnt "extend the healing ministry of Christ " what a crock!

Absolutely horrible. I joined Google+ just to inform the horrible service I received at this Centra Care. I volunteered for the Winter Park Memorial Hospital and before I could work, they required me to get a drug test and TB. The nurse that did my TB was lifeless and had a rude demeanor. After getting my TB, my test came out positive. I started to panic. I had no idea what TB was and if it was deadly. I asked my nurse and she didnt tell me anything at all. She said she would get a brochure for me and sent me out to the waiting room so I can get an X-ray scan. I waited for about 40 minutes and the nurse was still no where in sight. Finally, the technician came out to get me. She told me to call in 2-3 days for my results. I went home and did some research on TB myself. On the 2nd day I called back to ask for my results. The front desk receptionist confirmed that it was in and transfered me to the nurse so I coud get my results. The nurse, however informed me that my results werent in yet. She told me to call back the next day. I called back the next day and the same front desk receptionist answered. She put me on hold for 15-20 minutes before getting back to me and telling me to leave my name and phone number because they were busy. It SHOULD NOT take 20 minutes to inform a client that youre busy. I tried to explain to her my predicament until she rudely cut me off, only to repeat herself, asking for my name and phone number. I work in the health care industry as well, more specifically as an HIV counselor. I would never send a patient out after informing them that theyre HIV positive. Id wait until theyre stable enough to learn what HIV was and the next step they should take. Please train your employees. This place is a joke.

THE WORST PLACE EVER. First, I had to wait an extremely long time, but that wasnt even the issue, and honestly, Ive come to expect long waits at urgent care centers. The problem was that I requested a diagnostic referral, which the dr. on staff provided. However, he wrote it incorrectly, so it wasnt accepted and deemed worthless. So, I wasted my day waiting for this to get straightened out, and it never was, AND they collected my $75 co-pay for absolutely NOTHING in return...NOTHING. I called Centra Care corporate to complain, and have been told that they are "still trying to get to the bottom of" why my referral script was written incorrectly and therefore not usable. But now its Friday at 3:45pm, and I wont be able to do anything about this until Monday. The reason I even went to an urgent care center was to EXPEDITE the process...now Im going to have to call my own doctor anyway, and Ive lost a day in the process. Thanks, a lot Centra Care...great service...NOT. I will NEVER use a Centra Care again. (Not to mention that the scheduling lady at Florida Hosp. who said my referral was written incorrectly said she called Centra Care corporate to followup on the doctor I saw and was told that they had never heard of him...now thats comforting!)

My daughter who is a UCF student, went there at midnight with chronic sinusitis after having terrible symptoms for a week. They refused to prescribe antibiotics because she didnt have the symptoms for at least 10 days and they charged her a $40 co-pay for simply confirming that she is badly congested. I called there 10 hours later, explaining that many of the girls in her sorority had the same symptoms and those that took antibiotics were feeling much better and those that hadnt were getting worse. They wanted her to come back and spend another $40 to get evaluated by another doctor. When I refused, they had the doctor look at her chart and again refused to prescribe her any medication. With the UCF clinic not open on the weekends, she had to go to another clinic to get prescribed her needed antibiotics. If you have to go to this clinic, make sure you tell them that you had the symptoms for at least 10 days. Otherwise, you are wasting your time and money.

The only reason I needed to go to was through workers comp. Other than that I would never walk in there because of the wait time. I had a follow up 1 week after my incident and was told it would be 1 1/2 hrs. really? so I left and made an appointment, confirmed for an 11:30 am following Wednesday. Came in at 11:20 am and watched 4 other people come in later also with appointments, got seen and leave. 1 1/2 hrs. later I came to the counter and asked the lady to cancel my 11:30 am appointment since it was almost 1:00 pm. Never said anything to me why the long wait. and I walked out. Across the street is a Urgent Care where I tell all my employees to go because they WILL see you in 15 min. or less. And Ive had been there before and was in and out quickly, once sent to the Hospital. Even the Doctor who saw me followed up the next day to make sure I was ok. Never got that treatment here. It sucks that I still have to find time to go back for a follow up and wait again.
