Update: Nov 2015. We still use Cedarcrest Animal Hospital for our animal boarding needs and overall, Im still satisfied with this center. I dropped Cedarcrest from a 5 to a 4 star rating for a few minor issues; listed below. 1. Each time we board our dogs, the smaller of the two has conjunctivitis (pinkeye) upon pick-up. This has occurred each of the last 4 stays. Its a common theme boarding in general. 2. Cedarcrest requires our animals have Bordetella (Kennel Cough) injection every 6-months even though every veterinarian over the past 30 years have stated once a year is all animals require. Our animals are on an insurance plan which doesnt cover bi-annual Bordetella injections, so this is an additional incurred cost. 3. From day 1 of using Cedarcrest, Ive been very explicit to NOT place me on any mailing lists, yet they did. I have "unsubscribed" every other month for the past 2-years yet still get unsolicited eMails from them. NOTE: I have called them and personally spoke face-to-face with them to remove me from ANY and ALL eMail lists; that hasnt worked to date. This is just an annoyance more than anything. Previous Review If you read my previous review/issue we had with Pet Play Place of Kennesaw, youll understand that were done with them, so we had to look for a new boarder. A previous not from the review too, our vet doesnt have boarding facilities. After the PPP debacle, we was worried about the health and care of our (3, yes 3) pets so we decided they would stay at an animal hospital that offers boarding, and not some "play place". In the event our animals have an issue, theres a Vet on staff to care for our animals; not make "excuses". There are 2 such facilities near us, so we toured both. They were the Brookstone Animal Hospital (a very new facility), and Cedarcrest Animal Hospital. Both facilities were impressive and after talking with the caring staffs at both sites, we knew it would come down to price. As for the facilities, the only clear difference is the Brookstone Hospital is newer, and closer to our home. They both include food in their price for your pets, or you can bring your own. For dogs, the pricing includes 3 daily walks at both boarders. Cedarcrest also bathes your animals for free if they stay a MIN of 3-nights; this was a really nice touch. Next, we had to compare those tricky prices. This is where Cedarcrest won out over Brookstone. Daily rates as of Oct 2013: Felines: $17 vs $22. Sm dogs $19 vs $22. Med Dogs $21 vs $26. The big one for us. One of our animals is a Boxer and she needs to get outside and run, so the 3 walks isnt enough. We wanted 6 daily walks for her. Extra walks at Cedarcrest are $2 each whereas at Brookstone, hold on to your hats, is $10 per extra walk! YEOW! Exactly. Our pets seemed to have enjoyed their stay at Cedarcrest as they were all in excellent health, seemed happy, and didnt have any fears of the staff. There was also no weight loss even though we used their food. What was even sweeter, they all smelled good after their baths. To top it off, our 2 dogs were sporting bandanas; very nice touch Cedarcrest! I HIGHLY recommend Cedarcrest Animal Hospital for your animal boarding needs.

We have used Cedarcrest animal hospital once prior to our latest (not so great) experience for boarding. The only area I experienced was the lobby, from what I could see it is a very large and beautiful facility and everyone was very friendly. This last time I dropped my dog off for a few days of boarding, payed for extra walks, kong treats everyday, a full bath, and brought my dogs homemade dog food (he has a very limited diet due to allergies.) When I picked up my dog I immediately knew something was way off. He was soaking wet, didnt smell clean, his white fur was brown, and his nails looked like a complete hack job, still long, jagged and some not even cut. It was very clear that they just wet him down, and didnt bother actually washing him. Even though that is what I payed for. Which makes me think, even though I payed for extra walks and treats, who knows if he even got them... on our way home is when the horror started.. in the years we have had our baby he has never had an accident. The poor exhausted guy had diahrea all over the car covered in blood. I called the office and they passed me around on the phone until one doctor said nonchalantly to just add rice to his food..... my dog is allergic to grains..... yeah, no thanks. She also mentioned that because they take in SO MANY dogs at once that they may have just given him their house food.. Thats not okay. If you cant keep up with the amount of animals you board then obviously They are not being given the care they need while in their care. It couldnt have been the first time he had blood and mucus in his stool, why didnt someone notice and have one their vets treat him on the spot? We had to rush him to his regular vet and now a month later we are still dealing with the aftermath of boarding at Cedarcrest animal hospital. Never again. Never again. Never again.

First, my pets weren’t seen by the doctor. I had scheduled an appointment for my dog who was an established patient and the kitten who was going to be a new patient to be seen at 12pm on a Saturday. My family and myself was at an event. I call the office at 10:30 am, and spoken with someone in the front of the office. I asked if I can bring my animals, and drop them off so they can get their vaccinations. That person said yes as long as I pick them up before 2pm. I said of course, I’ll be there before 2pm. My son and I left the event went home to get the animals. We got to the office and I told my son to take a seat with our dog. The young lady at the front asked for me to come forward. I told her who I was signing in and she stated. Well, we have your dog on the schedule for today, but not the kitten. When I know I schedule an appointment for the both of them. She stated, Ill go to the back and ask the doctor can she see the kitten too, and I replied okay. She came back and said okay the doctor can see the kitten too, and I said great. She asks for me to complete paperwork for my kitten. Okay no problem. Then she asked for me to take a seat and the doctor will be with us in a moment. I had informed her that I called earlier and spoken with someone about dropping them off and picking them up before 2pm. She replied, Im sorry, but who ever told you that didnt know what they were talking about, because they dont do that. If I was told that they didnt do that. My family and I would have left the event and came to the appointment together, but NO I just burnt gas for that day. The next time I want to know something. Ill just have them to get the doctor call me back herself. Obviously, its a lot of miscommunication in the front part of the office.

Your facility is very clean. The staff is very friendly and seems quite knowledgeable. We just got a dog for the first time last year. We also got another dog this year. Appointments have been quick and simple. My two opinions and or frustrations are as follows. It would be cool if scheduling online was a more realtime process. I have attempted this twice and both times I never received any confirmation of the appointment. One time I was under the impression that I had an appointment only to find when I arrived that it was not scheduled. The stag was very apologetic and explained the online process. My second is my most recent visit. With my first dog I had one puppy exam and my other two trips were simply for vaccinations. There was no exam need and I was only charged for the vaccines. With my new dog I had my first puppy appointment and at that time we determined that her age was incorrect in your records. This was important because it determined her age for certain vaccinations. At our last appointment her age was still incorrect in your system and the team was originally only going to give her a second distemper. She was actually due for her third and rabies. During the previous visit I was also told that my last visit would not require an exam and that all I would pay for was vaccinations. I believe due to the incorrect age she was given an exam and then the correct vaccinations. This caused me to pay for another exam. It was unexpected and inconsistent with my first experience and what I was told at the previous appointment. I truly do appreciate all your service and I recommend you faculty to all my friends and neighbors. Please just make sure that the process is consistent.
